The best mattress stores in and near Des Plaines, Illinois

Updated October 18, 2026 · 28 stores, each checked against its own website

The best mattress stores in and near Des Plaines are Sandman Sleep, Northbrook, Decor Plus Furniture Store and Alpha Liquidation Mattress. We rank stores by how many mattress brands you can try in person, then by how many of their delivery, old-bed removal and return policies they post, counting one location per chain. We checked 28 stores within 8 miles of central Des Plaines, and no store pays to be listed.

  1. Sandman Sleep, Northbrook: 16 brands to try, including Tempur-Pedic, Helix and WinkBeds. Northbrook, 7.5 mi, open Sunday; delivery and return terms not listed, so call to ask.
  2. Decor Plus Furniture Store: 10 brands to try, including Serta, Nectar and Ashley. Elk Grove Village, 3.8 mi; publishes a return policy.
  3. Alpha Liquidation Mattress: 9 brands to try, including Sealy, Serta and Beautyrest. Bensenville, 7.2 mi; delivery and return terms not listed, so call to ask.

A few minutes on a showroom bed will not tell you how it feels after a month at home. Pick a bed you trust from a store whose exchange and return policy you can live with: 14 of the 28 stores here post a policy that lets you return a bed, so read the fees and time limits before you buy.
