Tempur-Pedic Mattress Review (2026): 7 Models Compared

Usually, no. Tempur-Pedic is the best-known name in slow, deep-sinking memory foam. But Loom & Leaf scores higher from the same test site on pressure relief, partner motion, and cooling, for less money. Returns here also cost $175 (plus tax). Try it in a store before you buy.

Here is what each step up costs for a Queen. ProAdapt adds four feels and a vented top for $1,200 more than Adapt. LuxeAdapt adds a five-zone support layer for another $1,400. On the cooling side, ProBreeze costs $2,200 more than Adapt, and LuxeBreeze adds another $1,400 for the brand's stronger cooling claim. Going the other way, the boxed Cloud costs $300 less than Adapt but ships by UPS with no setup.

For many buyers the choice is Adapt or ProBreeze: Adapt if heat is not a problem, ProBreeze if it is. Add the Cloud to the list if you can set up a boxed bed yourself. The specs table after the comparison marks each number the brand keeps to itself.

How we built this list: we pulled the pages the Internet Archive saved from tempurpedic.com, kept the mattresses the brand sold under their own name, and dated each one from the first and last saved copy of its product page. Years are approximate. Bases, pillows, bundles and programs are left out.

The Adapt at $2,299 is the lowest price that includes White Glove setup; the boxed Cloud is $300 less if you set it up yourself. Each step up buys one thing: more layers, more zones, or more cooling. Cooling is the most expensive upgrade: ProBreeze costs $2,200 more than Adapt. If you sleep hot, compare that gap with Loom & Leaf. Sleep Foundation rates it 7.0 for cooling against the ProAdapt's 5.5, and it costs less than ProBreeze. Size prices below come from the brand's product pages, checked Sep 25, 2026.

Are the expensive ones worth it?

Pay more when the upgrade fixes a real problem, not before. Heat is the one problem the big upgrades clearly target. If you do not sleep hot, the Adapt gives you the same core foam for $2,200 or more less.

The warranty lasts 10 years and covers a sag deeper than three-fourths of an inch. Repairs and replacements cost nothing for beds bought on or after October 1, 2022. The brand gives no expected life in years, so we won't guess one.

What to watch for, and when:

• First 30 nights: the brand asks you to sleep on it at least 30 nights before a return, because the foam softens as it breaks in. The home trial (90 nights) starts on delivery day, so judge it in weeks five to 12.
• Any time in the 10 years: take everything off the bed and measure any dip with a straight edge. A dip deeper than 0.75 in is covered, but you pay the transport.
• Every night: keep it on a proper base. A sag caused by a weak base is not covered, so check the slat rule in the warranty chapter.

Direct orders include a 90-night trial that starts on delivery day. The brand asks you to sleep on it for at least 30 nights before requesting a return. If you return it, a $175 (plus tax) return fee comes out of the refund, and the same White Glove team handles the pickup.

What the $175 (plus tax) fee pays for: a crew picks up the bed, so you don't have to get rid of it. You don't get the fee back. Beds bought at a store follow that store's policy instead.

Swapping for a new feel: within 90 days you can switch to another model or feel. The swap costs the same $175 (plus tax) fee, plus any price difference. The new bed gets its own delivery and setup.

White Glove is free in the lower 48 states. It includes setup and old-bed pickup. Far-off areas, Alaska, and Hawaii cost extra, so check your address first. We checked these terms on September 22, 2026.

Beds bought on or after October 1, 2022 get a 10-year warranty with no fees. The brand fixes or replaces a covered problem. Coverage does not shrink over the years.

How they measure a sag: take everything off the bed, then measure the dip. It must be deeper than 0.75 in, with no other cause like a weak base.

No sliding scale: there is no trade-in credit that drops by year. The fix is a repair or a new bed for the full ten years. You pay the shipping.

Reported praise and concerns:

• What owners like: the slow, molding feel of the foam, and a bed that barely moves when a partner turns. Owners on the brand's page say they sleep through a partner's moves and wake less stiff.
• What owners dislike: sagging or early wear, warranty claims turned down, and slow service on Trustpilot. Many also dislike the $175 (plus tax) return fee.

Its store directory shows 8,216 authorized retail locations across 54 states and territories, from small shops to big chains and Flagship Stores. The mattress is the same wherever you buy it. The terms are not. Ask a retailer three things before you pay: the trial length, the return fee, and who picks up the bed.

Flagship Stores use quiet bed pods where staff answer questions without a sales script. The floor runs from the 11-inch Adapt to the 13-inch LuxeBreeze. Call before a long drive, because the directory does not list which beds each store shows.

How to test a bed in the store

• Lie in your main sleep position for at least 15 minutes in a quiet room. A short sit tells you nothing about foam contour.
• Bring your own pillow so neck height stays true to your setup at home.
• Try both the Medium and the Medium Hybrid, because the hybrid moves more easily under your hips and shoulders.
