Who we are

The short version

Nappedia is a content site. There are no user accounts, no comment sections, and no purchases on this site. We collect the standard things a web server and first-party analytics collect, and that is all.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider logs the basics — IP address, browser user-agent, pages requested, and timestamps — to serve the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. Logs are retained for [SERVER LOG RETENTION PERIOD - TBD].
• First-party analytics. We use [ANALYTICS PROVIDER - TBD] to count page views, referrers, and device/browser types, so we know which research is worth building. Analytics identifiers are stored in cookies or local storage; the specifics are in the cookie policy.
• Email you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and reply-to address so we can respond and maintain a corrections record. We do not add you to a mailing list.

What we do not do

• No accounts, profiles, or comments at launch. There is no registration system holding your data, because there is no registration.
• No advertising technology. We do not run third-party ad networks that place cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles.
• No sensitive data. We do not seek health, financial, or other special-category information.

Affiliate links and third parties

Outbound labeled paid links route through our affiliate network (currently Partnerize) and then to the merchant. Clicking one tells the network and the merchant that a click happened, and they may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. Ordinary product and citation links are plain links and are not tracked by us.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California law gives residents rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. As of the review date above, Nappedia does not sell personal information, and it does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising: analytics is first-party and aggregate, there are no accounts, and there is no ad-tech personalization. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right — the content is free and identical for everyone.

Other rights

Depending on your state or country, you may have similar rights. Every privacy request is handled through [CONTACT EMAIL - TBD]. Because we hold so little data, verification is usually as simple as replying from your own email address.

Changes

Material changes to this policy receive a new review date at the top and, where practical, a note describing what changed — consistent with our corrections process.
