About Nappedia

Nappedia is The U.S. Mattress Research Library: a source-linked research publication for U.S. mattress shoppers. We locate, cite, and organize public evidence \u2014 product pages, legal policies, government records, certifier records, and published independent reviews \u2014 so you can compare mattresses without decoding marketing language. Every page shows the date we last reviewed its sources.

Reviewed September 2026 · facts carry the date we last checked them

What makes a page “ready”

A research page publishes when it meets a threshold, not when it reaches a verdict:

  • The exact mattress is frozen. Full name, height, firmness options, generation, and the date each fact was retrieved. A former name appears in version history, not as a second mattress.
  • Every claim traces to a linked source, separated into four statuses: verified document, brand claim, owner report, or open question.
  • Gaps are stated, not filled. If we could not locate a numeric foam density, the page says so instead of guessing.
  • The source list is public, and the review date is on the page.

What we do not do

  • We do not run a sleep lab. No physical testing of our own: no pressure mapping, temperature logging, motion measurement, or durability trials.
  • We do not publish our own 1–10 scores. Where a review score appears, it is a median of at least two matched, published expert ratings — normalized, labeled, and never a Nappedia hands-on verdict. The method is at /methodology.
  • We do not convert owner anecdotes into defect rates. Repeated owner reports create an investigation queue, not a prevalence claim.
  • Our construction visuals are research reconstructions based on published evidence — not photographs of teardowns.

How Nappedia is funded

The publisher is funded through affiliate commissions: when a reader uses a clearly labeled paid link and buys something, the publisher may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader. The full picture — including the current affiliate relationship and what it can never change — is on the advertising and affiliate disclosure page.

Funding does not steer criteria. Our editorial policy and methodology govern every page regardless of how the site is paid for, and every page carries the same source-review discipline.

Our position

Our position is simple. We document products and policies; we do not pretend to have slept on mattresses we have not physically tested.
