Van Vorst Mattress Review
Van Vorst is the revived 1888 CB Van Vorst Mattress Co. name. Bedding Industries of America licenses it, with Blue Ocean Sleep. There are two lines. CoreRhythm is innerspring, with six models from 10 to 14 inches. EcoRhythm is Ecoolatex, with the 253, 331 and 381. The brand site doesn't publish prices or a trial. Oak & Sand in Singapore lists SGD 1,680 to 4,480. It's best for latex-and-coil luxury buyers. Expect a thin retail footprint, unfinished site pages and no reviews.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
The brand gives general guidance only. It doesn't publish weight ratings, a firmness scale or coil counts. Choose the soft models (CoreRhythm 252, 302, 352) if you're a side sleeper or a lighter build. They also suit you if you want shoulder and hip contouring in a plush Euro-style pillow top. Choose the medium models (CoreRhythm 251, 301, 351) if you sleep on your back or mix positions and want support with cushioning.
EcoRhythm Ecoolatex suits you if you want a buoyant, responsive, temperature-neutral surface and allergy-aware materials. That's especially true of the 5-zone 331. The 381's encased coils suit couples who want motion isolation with latex contouring. The brand doesn't publish a firm option. Stomach sleepers and heavier sleepers who need a rigid surface should check with the retailer or look elsewhere.
Mattress prices and value
The official Van Vorst site doesn't publish prices, and its shop page is empty. The only live retail pricing we found is Oak & Sand in Singapore. CoreRhythm 251 (Oregon) is SGD 1,680 single, 1,780 super single, 2,680 queen and 3,180 king. CoreRhythm 252 (Vermont) is SGD 1,780, 1,980, 2,980 and 3,480. Princeton (VVM355) is SGD 2,280, 2,480, 3,780 and 4,480.
Historically, trade coverage from 2017 to 2019 put the line at $999 to $5,000 for a queen in the US. In 2018, Activcor additions were Del Mar (Activcor plus memory foam, $2,499 queen) and Oceania (Activcor plus latex, $2,899 queen), in a five-model line at $1,499 to $4,999. The 2019 three-model innerspring line retailed at $1,499, $1,799 and $2,499. It used Surface Modified Technology foam squares, copper-infused latex on the top two models and New Zealand wool quilting. The construction supports an affordable-luxury position. That covers Ecoolatex latex, pocketed coils, the Biorytmic cover and GOTS wool on the 381. But there's no US pricing, checkout or trial, so the value case rests on the retailer. At Oak & Sand prices, the CoreRhythm undercuts typical Talalay hybrids. The Princeton sits in premium territory.
What are the mattresses made of?
CoreRhythm uses Ecoolatex natural latex, which Oak & Sand says is imported from Belgium, combined with high-density foam. The springs are heat-tempered, individually pocketed Advance Core. The Biorytmic Sleep fabric cover was developed in Turkey. The brand claims it carries a mineral formulation that disperses vibrational energy. The build is non-flip with foam encasement. Foams are stated as minimum 1.8 density and high resilience. Plant or soy-based polyols replace petroleum-based polyols.
EcoRhythm uses Ecoolatex, and 5-zone Ecoolatex on the 331. The homepage presents the 381 with natural Talalay latex, GOTS-certified organic wool, individually encased recycled-steel coils and plant-based premium foams. The builds are hypoallergenic, with an antimicrobial organic cotton cover and a Calmera non-toxic natural thistle flame barrier. The brand claims a Chiropractic Seal of Approval for the collection.
CertiPUR-US certified foams and GOTS certification are brand claims. The brand doesn't publish layer-by-layer spec sheets, densities beyond the 1.8 minimum, coil counts or gauge figures. BIA group technologies sometimes cited for the portfolio (Spinal Zone, LifeEdge) aren't confirmed on Van Vorst product pages.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
We found no independent durability testing from RTINGS, Sleep Foundation or a comparable lab (checked September 2026). You won't find a warranty length, sag threshold or exclusions on the brand site. The only warranty statement is from the retailer Oak & Sand. It promises a 10-year warranty for manufacturing defects. It also says all Van Vorst mattresses come with a 10-year warranty as proof of reliability.
BIA, the licensor, runs a corporate warranty page with an online claim form and a care guide. It routes claims first to the retailer where you bought the mattress. It doesn't post a Van Vorst-specific coverage document. The build is non-flip with foam encasement. Coil gauge, coil count and foam densities aren't published, so you can't judge long-term durability independently.
Customer reviews and complaints
Almost no review footprint exists. The brand site shows three short, undated testimonials with full names and occupations: Kami Ross, pharmacist; Luca Giordano, real estate; and Lane Preston, veterinarian. They praise back-pain relief and cooler sleep. There's no rating summary or verified-buyer badge. Oak & Sand product pages show no Van Vorst customer reviews or rating widgets.
Searches in September 2026 found no Google, BBB, Trustpilot, Reddit, Sleepopolis, Mattress Clarity or Sleep Foundation coverage of Van Vorst mattresses. We found no complaint themes either. BBB and Trustpilot searches found no Van Vorst listings. With no third-party reviews, there's no sign of systemic complaints. But nothing independently backs the brand's back-pain, cooling or biorhythm claims.
Where can you try and buy?
You can try and buy at Oak & Sand in Singapore, online at oakandsand.com and at its Fabric Studio showroom. The showroom is at Mapletree Industrial Trust, 4 Kaki Bukit Ave 1, 03-05, Singapore 417939. It's open 11:00 to 17:30 daily except Thursday and Sunday. Phone and WhatsApp are +65 88298191, and email is hello@oakandsand.com. Oak & Sand sells CoreRhythm 251 and 252 as Oregon and Vermont, plus a Princeton variant.
Historically the brand went to market through the BIA and Eclipse International licensee network. That's 80+ factories worldwide, including 22 North American plants. It also sold through Harvey Norman in Malaysia and Singapore. Dedicated Van Vorst Studio stores in Hunan and Shenzhen, China, were run by Van Vorst Partners Ltd. BIA headquarters is 1375 Jersey Avenue, North Brunswick, NJ 08902, (800) 233-7467, info@vanvorstmattresses.com.
You won't find a working shop, cart or dealer locator on the brand's own site as of September 2026. The /van-vorst-ecorhythm/ page returns a 500 error. The /contact/ page still shows placeholder text and demo addresses. The /contact-2/ page lists the North Brunswick headquarters.
Delivery, setup and removal
The Van Vorst site doesn't publish shipping, delivery, setup or old-mattress-removal terms (checked September 2026). It describes no white-glove or haul-away program. Oak & Sand notes the mattresses are made to order and take about four weeks.
Local Singapore shipping is $2.90 per parcel after subsidy, with free tracked shipping over $48. International shipping from Singapore via DHL excludes bulky items such as mattresses and duvets. So cross-border buyers can't order a Van Vorst mattress from Oak & Sand. Neither the brand nor the retailer tells you about assembly, foundation needs or disposal service. Confirm delivery arrangements directly with the retailer.
Sleep trial and returns
Neither Van Vorst nor BIA publishes a sleep trial, return window, exchange or fee schedule for this brand (checked September 2026). The retailer Oak & Sand has a 30-day return policy. Returns need unused condition with tags and original packaging. Custom products, including special orders and personalized items, can't be returned. Van Vorst mattresses are made to order, so a mattress return is unlikely to be accepted. That isn't stated in writing.
Oak & Sand refunds approved returns to the original payment method within 10 business days. It offers a 14-day European Union cooling-off right. It handles exchanges as a return plus a separate new purchase. We found no restocking, pickup or return-shipping fee terms for mattress returns.
Warranty
The brand site doesn't publish a Van Vorst warranty document, length or exclusions as of September 2026. The retailer Oak & Sand states a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. BIA (Bedding Industries of America), the licensor, runs a warranty portal at beddingindustriesofamerica.com/warranty. It has an online claim form and a care guide. You contact the retailer where you bought the mattress first, then email BIA if it's unresolved.
BIA states it will replace defective products under its limited warranty. It doesn't post Van Vorst-specific coverage terms, sag thresholds, prorating or exclusions. The heritage pitch mentions a lifetime brand image and a chiropractic seal. Neither is a warranty term.
Van Vorst Mattress vs. other brands
Within its own house, Van Vorst sits above Eclipse and Eastman House and below the all-latex Pure Talalay Bliss line. That's according to Eclipse International CEO Stuart Carlitz in 2019. It shares the BIA licensing platform with Natural Dreams, Velika, Hemingway, Chittenden & Eastman and Millbrook.
Against Saatva, the direct-to-consumer innerspring benchmark that 2017 coverage listed as an Eclipse family brand, Van Vorst offers a latex-and-coil plush build and an 1888 heritage story. It loses on published pricing, trial and returns, and US availability. Against Avocado and other organic-latex hybrids, its GOTS wool, Talalay and CertiPUR-US claims travel well. They're less backed up, and it lacks published spec sheets.
Against Tempur-Pedic and other foam brands, Van Vorst gives you more breathability and springy support. It can't match the motion isolation you'd get from foam. Against its own historic rivals (Kingsdown, Shifman, Aireloom, all named in its own history), it's the smaller, less verifiable brand today.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
