Vaya Sleep Mattress Review
Vaya Sleep is an online-only brand in Scottsdale, Arizona, started in 2019. It sells two US-made mattresses: the 12 in all-foam Vaya from $849 and the 14 in Vaya Hybrid from $949 at list price. Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Side sleepers can use either bed. The hybrid is Vaya's own pick for side, back and combination sleepers. Coils keep your hips lifted while foam cushions your shoulders and hips. Back sleepers of average weight will like either bed on a medium feel. eachnight cautions back sleepers over 230 lb to look elsewhere.
The brand says stomach sleepers may want to pass on the hybrid. Plus-size stomach sleepers should be careful with the all-foam. If you share the bed, the hybrid wins with corner-to-corner reinforced edge support. Mattress Clarity flagged noticeable motion transfer and weak edge support on the older all-foam. NapLab scored the current all-foam 9.1 of 10 for motion and 8.7 for edge support, both above average.
Both beds are built around airflow, with open-cell foam, a breathable cover and coils in the hybrid. eachnight scored cooling 8 of 10 for both. Both work with adjustable beds. Light and average-weight adults, kids, teens and guest rooms fit best. Heavy sleepers should look at firmer, denser beds.
Mattress prices and value
We checked list prices on September 22, 2026, against the live storefront price data and cart, not sale banners. The Vaya Mattress runs $849 to $1,598, with the Queen at $1,099. The Vaya Hybrid runs $949 to $1,798, with the Queen at $1,199. The Platform Bed is $399 to $599. The Pillow is $65 (Queen) and $85 (King). The Adjustable Bed Bundle starts at about $1,749, with the Queen at $1,849.
Vaya runs near-constant promos. A $300 off any mattress code (VAYA300) was advertised, and the homepage showed mattresses starting at $549. Review site eachnight lists discounted bands of $449 to $1,098 for the foam bed and $549 to $1,298 for the hybrid.
NapLab calls the all-foam 36% cheaper than the average foam mattress, saving about $380 on a queen. eachnight scored both models 10 of 10 for value. In Vaya's own table, its queen bundle undercuts Puffy at $2,248, GhostBed at $3,192 and Purple at $4,639. Vaya doesn't offer financing. You can pay with major cards or bank transfer only.
What are the mattresses made of?
The Vaya Mattress has 3 in of open-cell Vaya Comfort Foam over 9 in of Vaya Base Foam. The comfort foam is responsive and bouncy, not visco memory foam. The cover is soft and breathable. eachnight describes it as a polyester-rayon-spandex weave. The Vaya Hybrid has a 2 in quilted cotton cushion, 2 in Vaya Foam, 8 in individually pocketed coils with firmer edge coils and 2 in base foam. It has a lightweight cooling cover.
Both models use CertiPUR-US certified foams (low VOC, no heavy metals or ozone depleters) and an Oeko-Tex fire sock. The brand states they're fiberglass-free and hypoallergenic, and designed and made in the USA. The storefront names FXI, a US foam maker, as vendor. The brand doesn't publish latex, wool, organic, gel-infused or phase-change cooling layers. The cover is removable but spot-clean only. Vaya advises against machine washing or dry cleaning.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The brand says both mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty covering sagging deeper than 1.5 in at the center. It also says the foams won't sag or develop soft spots and need no flipping or rotating. The brand doesn't publish foam densities or durability testing.
NapLab scored the all-foam 8.80 of 10 overall, in the top 37% of mattresses it tested. Response time scored 10 of 10, cooling 9.0, edge support 8.7, motion transfer 9.1, pressure relief 8.0 and off-gassing 9.2. It scored the hybrid 8.6 of 10. eachnight scored them 8.7 and 8.8 with cooling 8 of 10, and called motion transfer and cooling relative weak spots.
Mattress Clarity's review of the older 10 in build warned of low-density foam and estimated only three to four years of life. NapLab notes the 3 in comfort layer is a full inch thinner than the 4.1 in average. That's the clearest medium-term durability question for the all-foam model.
Customer reviews and complaints
On the brand's site in September 2026, the Vaya Mattress shows 4.7 of 5 from 106 reviews (72% five-star, 24% four-star, 3-star 4% and one 1-star). The Vaya Hybrid shows 4.9 of 5 from 78 reviews, 91% of them five-star. The Pillow shows 4.6 of 5 from 34 and the Platform Bed 5.0 of 5 from 5. Amazon's listing for the older 12 in Adaptive Foam full size shows 4.0 of 5 from 33 ratings.
The BBB gives an A+ rating but the brand isn't accredited. It shows 1 complaint in three years (Product Issues, filed April 2025, answered not resolved) and 0 customer reviews. The complaint alleges mold on two mattresses after four months and weeks of unanswered support contacts. Vaya replied that no law tag or photos of the uncovered mattress were supplied and the beds had already been discarded. So it couldn't verify a defect. Trustpilot and Sitejabber both show zero reviews.
A March 2025 Reddit thread on mold drove most of the negative talk. You'll often read about a strong initial off-gassing smell that fades within one to three days. It looks like a handful of quality and claims cases amplified online, not a clear failure pattern.
Where can you try and buy?
You can only buy online at vayasleep.com. The brand states it has no showrooms and no brick-and-mortar retail partners. Call (888) 430-6608, email, or use live chat. Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am to 3pm Arizona time. Headquarters and the returns address are 7167 E Rancho Vista Dr Ste 137, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
A legacy Amazon listing exists for the older VAYA 12 in Adaptive Foam mattress in Full. The BBB lists Amerisleep, Zoma Sleep LLC and FORM Sleep as related businesses at the same address. Reddit threads call Vaya Amerisleep's smaller sibling, so shared ownership and foam supply is likely. The storefront names FXI as vendor for the mattresses and platform bed. There's no international retail presence, and warranty service covers the US and Canada only.
Delivery, setup and removal
Delivery is free by FedEx curbside in the lower 48. Orders leave the facility in 1 to 7 business days and arrive 1 to 5 business days later. No signature is required. Both mattresses ship compressed in a 19 x 19 x 42.5 in box. They expand in 4 to 6 hours, and up to 24 hours to fully expand. The pillow ships in a 7 x 7 x 17 in box in 2 to 10 business days.
Alaska, Hawaii and international orders need a freight forwarder that you arrange and pay for. The platform bed ships in 3 to 5 business days. The adjustable base ships in 1 to 3 business days with 5 to 7 day delivery. There's no white-glove or in-home setup. The platform bed assembles in about five minutes without tools, and the adjustable base is tool-free too.
Old-mattress haul-away is offered only in California, as free pickup within 30 days under AB-187. It's not offered anywhere else, and warranty replacements exclude haul-away too.
Sleep trial and returns
The 100-night Pure Comfort Promise trial starts on delivery. You must keep the mattress at least 30 nights before returning it, and Vaya recommends 60. Returns are free with a full refund in the lower 48. Call (888) 430-6608 and FedEx arranges pickup. You don't need to keep any packaging. Free or discounted gift items must go back with the mattress, or their full retail value comes off your refund.
The pillow and platform bed are final sale and excluded from the trial. If you picked the wrong size or changed your mind before shipping, call support to modify or cancel the order. An unopened wrong-size mattress is collected and swapped. The trial and free return shipping don't extend to Alaska, Hawaii or international orders. You pay freight forwarding there. The brand doesn't publish a restocking fee. Refunds can take longer once an order has shipped.
Warranty
Both mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, plus sagging deeper than 1.5 in at the center. Corners and edges are excluded. The cover zipper is covered, but rips from handling or wear aren't. The remedy is repair or replacement at Vaya's discretion, with a comparable model if yours is discontinued. You may owe labor and shipping, and the defective mattress isn't hauled away.
Claims need the original purchaser, proof of purchase and an intact law tag. You need solid, slatted, platform or adjustable support. Slats can be no more than 2.75 in apart, though the FAQ elsewhere says 3 in. A box spring works only under 0.75 in moisture-resistant plywood. The warranty is void if the mattress is stained, saturated, folded, bent, rolled or recompressed after setup. It's also void if it's unsanitary, final sale, closeout or bought from an unauthorized seller. It covers the US and Canada only.
The Platform Bed has a 1-year full-replacement warranty. The Pillow has a 3-year limited warranty that excludes heat damage. The adjustable base has 10 years: year one covers parts and labor, year two parts only, and years three to ten the metal frame only, prorated.
Vaya Sleep vs. other brands
Against Nectar Classic (queen street price $699 to $1,099 in Vaya's own comparison), Nectar wins on a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty. Vaya wins on US-made construction, a stated fiberglass-free build and equal or lower pricing. Against Tuft & Needle Original, you get the same roughly 6.5 of 10 medium feel and similar prices. Mattress Clarity judged Tuft & Needle the more durable and supportive bed for medium and heavy sleepers.
Against Purple Restore Hybrid ($2,099 to $2,399 queen), Vaya is far cheaper and sleeps reasonably cool. Purple's grid and coil build beat it on cooling and edge support. In Vaya's own table, its $1,849 queen bundle undercuts Puffy ($2,248), GhostBed ($3,192) and Purple ($4,639).
Overall, Vaya is a two-model value specialist under its Amerisleep sibling, alongside Zoma and FORM. It's closer to Brooklyn Bedding, Nectar and Tuft & Needle than to Tempur-Pedic or Saatva. Its 100-night trial is the shortest in that value group.
