Van Vorst is the revived 1888 CB Van Vorst Mattress Co. name. Bedding Industries of America licenses it, with Blue Ocean Sleep. There are two lines. CoreRhythm is innerspring, with six models from 10 to 14 inches. EcoRhythm is Ecoolatex, with the 253, 331 and 381. The brand site doesn't publish prices or a trial. Oak & Sand in Singapore lists SGD 1,680 to 4,480. It's best for latex-and-coil luxury buyers. Expect a thin retail footprint, unfinished site pages and no reviews.

Good fit for side sleepers and couples wanting a plush-to-medium innerspring-plus-latex feel, hot sleepers drawn to breathable Talalay and Ecoolatex claims, allergy-conscious buyers (dust-mite resistant and antibacterial claims), heritage and eco-material shoppers (GOTS-certified wool, CertiPUR-US foams, recycled steel, Calmera thistle flame barrier claims), and shoppers in Singapore or Asia who can visit the Oak & Sand showroom.
Poor fit for firm-mattress seekers (no firm option published), budget buyers, anyone who wants a published sleep trial, return window, warranty document, price list or verified third-party reviews before buying, United States buyers without a clear dealer channel, and buyers who need standard US dimensions because sizes are published in centimetres (91/107/152/182 x 190 cm).

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Brand-level guidance only; no weight ratings, firmness scale or coil counts are published. Choose the soft models (CoreRhythm 252, 302, 352) if you are a side sleeper, lighter build, or want shoulder and hip contouring in a plush Euro-style pillow top. Choose the medium models (CoreRhythm 251, 301, 351) if you sleep on your back or mix positions and want support with cushioning.
EcoRhythm Ecoolatex, especially the 5-zone 331, suits sleepers who want a buoyant, responsive, temperature-neutral surface and allergy-aware materials; the 381's encased coils suit couples wanting motion isolation with latex contouring. There is no published firm option, so stomach sleepers and heavier sleepers who need a rigid surface should verify with the retailer or look elsewhere.

Which Van Vorst Mattress feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Van Vorst Mattress publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
Van Vorst Mattress lists 10 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
CoreRhythm 251: 10 in (25-30 cm) innerspring, 1 in pillow top, medium feel, Ecoolatex plus high-density foam over heat-tempered pocketed Advance Core springs, non-flip with foam encasement, Biorytmic Sleep fabric cover; Oak & Sand sells the same SKU (VVM251) as Oregon in Medium-Firm at SGD 1,680-3,180 by size, so firmness labels differ by seller.
CoreRhythm 252: sister 10 in model, soft feel, same build and cover, sold by Oak & Sand as Vermont in Medium for SGD 1,780-3,480. CoreRhythm 301: 12 in (30 cm), 2 in pillow top, medium. CoreRhythm 302: 12 in, 2 in pillow top, soft.
CoreRhythm 351: 14 in (35 cm), 3 in pillow top, medium. CoreRhythm 352: 14 in, 3 in pillow top, soft, and the flagship shown on the homepage. All six are named and specified on the brand site with no prices.
EcoRhythm 253, EcoRhythm 331 and EcoRhythm 381: Ecoolatex latex line under a Biorytmic Sleep cover; 331 adds a 5-zone Ecoolatex design with dedicated firmness for the head, shoulder and lumbar zones; 381 is shown on the homepage with natural Talalay latex, GOTS-certified organic wool, individually encased recycled-steel coils and plant-based premium foams under a plush Euro pillow top, while a site menu also lists an EcoRhythm Non-Spring Mattress with no live page; no heights, prices or firmness ratings are published for EcoRhythm.
Retailer Oak & Sand adds Princeton (SKU VVM355), a 3 in pillow-top cooling-fabric variant at SGD 2,280-4,480.
Historic factory programs for reference: the 2017 relaunch spanned $999-$5,000 queen; 2018 Activcor additions were Del Mar (Activcor plus memory foam, $2,499 queen) and Oceania (Activcor plus latex, $2,899 queen) in a five-model line at $1,499-$4,999; the 2019 three-model innerspring line retailed at $1,499, $1,799 and $2,499 with Surface Modified Technology foam squares, copper-infused latex on the top two models and New Zealand wool quilting.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
No prices are published anywhere on the official Van Vorst site and the WooCommerce shop page is empty. The only live retail pricing found is Oak & Sand in Singapore: CoreRhythm 251 (Oregon) at SGD 1,680 single, 1,780 super single, 2,680 queen and 3,180 king; CoreRhythm 252 (Vermont) at SGD 1,780, 1,980, 2,980 and 3,480; Princeton (VVM355) at SGD 2,280, 2,480, 3,780 and 4,480.
Historically the line was priced to retail at $999-$5,000 queen in the US across 2017-2019 trade coverage, with the 2019 three-model line at $1,499-$2,499.
Value read: the construction story (Ecoolatex latex, pocketed coils, Biorytmic cover, GOTS wool on the 381) supports an affordable-luxury position, but with no US pricing, no checkout and no trial the value case rests entirely on the retailer; at Oak & Sand prices the CoreRhythm undercuts typical Talalay hybrids while the Princeton sits in premium territory.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
No independent durability testing (no RTINGS, Sleep Foundation or comparable lab results) was found as of Sept 2026. The brand site publishes no Van Vorst warranty length, sag threshold or exclusions; the only warranty statement found is the retailer Oak & Sand promise of a 10-year warranty for manufacturing defects, plus its line that all Van Vorst mattresses come with a 10-year warranty as proof of reliability.
BIA, the licensor, runs a corporate warranty page with an online claim form and a care guide and routes claims first to the retailer where the mattress was bought, but no Van Vorst-specific coverage document is posted. Construction is non-flip with foam encasement; coil gauge, coil count and foam densities are not published, so long-term durability cannot be independently assessed.

Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
No sleep trial, return window, exchange or fee schedule is published by Van Vorst or BIA for this brand as of Sept 2026.
The retailer Oak & Sand has a 30-day return policy, but returns require unused condition with tags and original packaging, and custom products including special orders and personalized items are non-returnable; because Van Vorst mattresses are made to order, mattress returns are effectively unlikely to be accepted, though this is not stated in writing.
Oak & Sand refunds approved returns to the original payment method within 10 business days, offers a 14-day European Union cooling-off right, and handles exchanges as a return plus a separate new purchase. No restocking, pickup or return-shipping fee terms for mattress returns were found.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Not published by the brand as of Sept 2026: the Van Vorst site has no shipping, delivery, setup or old-mattress-removal page and no white-glove or haul-away program is described.
Retailer Oak & Sand notes the mattresses are made to order and take about four weeks; local Singapore shipping is $2.90 per parcel after subsidy with free tracked shipping over $48, and international shipping from Singapore via DHL excludes bulky items such as mattresses and duvets, so cross-border buyers cannot order a Van Vorst mattress from Oak & Sand.
No assembly requirements, foundation guidance, disposal or old-mattress-removal service is published by brand or retailer; buyers should confirm delivery arrangements directly with the retailer.
Typical wait: About four weeks, made to order

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
The brand site publishes no Van Vorst warranty document, length or exclusions as of Sept 2026. The retailer Oak & Sand states a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects for Van Vorst mattresses.
BIA (Bedding Industries of America), the licensor, runs a warranty portal at beddingindustriesofamerica.com/warranty with an online claim form, a care guide and instructions to contact the retailer where the mattress was purchased first, then email BIA if unresolved; BIA states it will replace defective products under its limited warranty but does not post Van Vorst-specific coverage terms, sag thresholds, prorating or exclusions.
Heritage positioning mentions a lifetime brand image and a chiropractic seal, neither of which is a warranty term.

Review counts checked on each site · they change daily
Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
Almost no review footprint exists. The brand site shows three short, undated testimonials with full names and occupations (Kami Ross, pharmacist; Luca Giordano, real estate; Lane Preston, veterinarian) praising back-pain relief and cooler sleep, with no ratings aggregation or verified-buyer badges. Oak & Sand product pages carry no Van Vorst customer reviews or rating widgets.
Searches in Sept 2026 found no Google, BBB, Trustpilot, Reddit, Sleepopolis, Mattress Clarity or Sleep Foundation coverage of Van Vorst mattresses and no complaint themes. With no third-party reviews there is no evidence of systemic complaints, but also no independent validation of the brand's back-pain, cooling or biorhythm claims.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
CoreRhythm: Ecoolatex natural latex, described by Oak & Sand as imported from Belgium, combined with high-density foam; heat-tempered individually pocketed Advance Core spring system; Biorytmic Sleep fabric cover developed in Turkey and claimed to carry a mineral formulation that disperses vibrational energy; non-flip build with foam encasement; foams stated as minimum 1.8 density, high resilience, with plant or soy-based polyols replacing petroleum-based polyols.
EcoRhythm: Ecoolatex and 5-zone Ecoolatex on the 331; the 381 is presented on the homepage with natural Talalay latex, GOTS-certified organic wool, individually encased recycled-steel coils and plant-based premium foams; hypoallergenic builds with an antimicrobial organic cotton cover and a Calmera non-toxic natural thistle flame barrier; Chiropractic Seal of Approval claimed for the collection.
CertiPUR-US certified foams and GOTS certification are brand claims; no layer-by-layer spec sheets, densities beyond the 1.8 minimum, coil counts or gauge figures are published. BIA group technologies sometimes cited for the portfolio (Spinal Zone, LifeEdge) are not confirmed on Van Vorst product pages.

Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

Chapter 12
Van Vorst Mattress vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Within its own house, Van Vorst is positioned above Eclipse and Eastman House and below the all-latex Pure Talalay Bliss line according to Eclipse International CEO Stuart Carlitz in 2019, and it shares the BIA licensing platform with Natural Dreams, Velika, Hemingway, Chittenden & Eastman and Millbrook.
Against outside rivals: versus Saatva (the DTC innerspring benchmark, itself listed as an Eclipse family brand in 2017 coverage), Van Vorst offers a latex-and-coil plush build and an 1888 heritage story but loses on published pricing, trial and returns transparency and US availability.
Versus Avocado and other organic-latex hybrids, Van Vorst's GOTS wool, Talalay and CertiPUR-US claims travel well but are less documented and it lacks published spec sheets. Versus Tempur-Pedic and other foam brands, Van Vorst wins on breathability and springy support but cannot match foam motion isolation.
Versus its own historic rivals (Kingsdown, Shifman, Aireloom, all named in its own history), Van Vorst is the smaller, less verifiable brand today.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Van Vorst Mattress. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
Researched in September 2026 from official sources first: the live brand site vanvorstmattresses.com (home, vanvorst, mattresses, CoreRhythm, EcoRhythm, licensing, contact and contact-2 pages) and the parent licensor site beddingindustriesofamerica.com (brands and warranty pages), then archived trade coverage (BedTimes June 2017 and October 2017; Sleep Retailer April 2017, September 2017, December 2017, April 2018 and May 2019), trademark records via TMview and USPTO data (VAN VORST registration 5316773 held by Blue Ocean Sleep LLC from 2017; CB VAN VORST MATTRESS COMPANY registration 5162180, ended), the archived heritage site cbvanvorst.com (about us, history, products and contact pages, 2018), the Seattle landmark article on vulcanrealestate.com, and retailer pages and policies at oakandsand.com.
Brand claims are labeled as claims; nothing was invented; unverifiable items such as prices, trials, warranty terms, coil counts and third-party reviews are recorded as not published or not found as of Sept 2026., while the live official site vanvorstmattresses.com still contains unfinished template pages.; documented heritage is an 1888 Los Angeles founding and a later Seattle factory (the landmarked Van Vorst Building, occupied 1941-1974), with the New Jersey connection being BIA's headquarters on Jersey Avenue in North Brunswick.

Who makes Van Vorst mattresses?
They are licensed by Bedding Industries of America (BIA), headquartered at 1375 Jersey Avenue, North Brunswick, NJ, under a 2017 partnership with Blue Ocean Sleep LLC, which owns the VAN VORST trademark (USPTO registration 5316773); Eclipse International holds worldwide licensing rights.
When was the brand founded?
1888, when George Whitney Van Vorst and Joseph Bernhard formed the CB Van Vorst Mattress Co. in Los Angeles; the original company stopped manufacturing in 1982 and the brand was relaunched in 2017.
What models can I buy?
CoreRhythm innersprings (251, 252, 301, 302, 351 and 352 at 10, 12 and 14 inches) and EcoRhythm Ecoolatex models (253, 331 and 381), with retailer-only names such as Vermont, Oregon and Princeton.
How much do they cost?
The brand publishes no prices; Oak & Sand in Singapore lists SGD 1,680 to 4,480 depending on model and size, and 2017-2019 US retail references were $999 to $5,000 queen.
Is there a sleep trial or returns?
No brand trial is published; Oak & Sand offers a 30-day return policy that excludes custom and made-to-order items, which likely includes these mattresses.
What warranty comes with it?
Oak & Sand states a 10-year manufacturing-defect warranty; BIA runs a warranty claim portal, but no Van Vorst-specific warranty document is published as of Sept 2026.
