The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary

  • 365-night trial with free white-glove setup and old removal. The $99 return fee is stated upfront, not buried.
  • Dual steel coils resist sagging; wool and thistle barrier with zero fiberglass in the tags reviewed. Check your own tag.
Good to Know
  • $99 transportation fee on returns; made-to-order wait of 9 to 18 days plus possible freight delays.
  • Open coils bounce more than foam and sleep cooler; foam-sink lovers may miss the hug.
  • Luxury Firm may feel too firm under 130 lbs; queen promos swing, recheck before buying.

Chapter 01

Is Saatva the best mattress for you?

Three answers decide most of this review: your sleep position, your weight, and whether you like bounce or hug. Get those right and the model picks itself.

Independent Lab Data
Most review sites earn money when you click their links. We checked 7 independent publications and compared their published results side by side. Scores run 84 to 96 out of 100, and three labs tested the exact 11.5-inch Luxury Firm between 92 and 96 out of 100.

For the right sleeper, yes. Saatva is a strong innerspring pick for back and stomach sleepers who want firm support, open-coil airflow, and free in-room setup. It undercuts the hotel brands it mimics: $804 under Stearns & Foster Estate and $1,704 under Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt, sale to sale against the $1,695 Queen price (checked September 9, 2026).

0% Fiberglass
Non-Toxic Fire Barrier

Natural thistle pulp and organic wool stop fire safely, with zero fiberglass and zero chemical sprays in the tags reviewed.

Dual Steel Coils
10+ Year Anti-Sag Support

Thick 13-gauge base springs pair with 884 pocket coils to resist body impressions for 10 or more years.

Free In-Room Setup
White Glove & 365-Night Trial

A two-person team sets the mattress up in your bedroom and removes your old bed, backed by a 365-night trial.

Why Saatva May Be the Best for You
  • Back & stomach sleepers needing spinal pushback: Active lumbar wire and 884 pocket coils prevent lumbar sagging, keeping hips level with the spine.
  • Sleepers who run hot: Dual open innerspring chambers circulate ambient room air with zero foam heat retention.
  • Buyers wanting true durability: Dual tempered steel springs and high-density foam edge rails resist body impressions for 10 or more years.
  • Shoppers who avoid bed-in-a-box hassle: Free in-room setup and old mattress haul-away with zero chemical off-gassing delays.
When Another Mattress May Suit You Better
  • Lightweight side sleepers (under 130 lbs): The flagship Luxury Firm (6.5/10) may feel too firm at the shoulders; choose Plush Soft (3/10) or contouring latex instead.
  • Couples demanding total motion silence: Responsive steel innersprings provide buoyant lift but transmit slightly more vibration than solid memory foam.
  • Budget shoppers under $1,000: Direct pricing starts at $1,195 to $1,695 Queen, plus a non-refundable $99 return freight fee if exchanged.

Why Configuration-Specific Testing Matters

Each outlet scores with its own method, so we show their published ratings side by side instead of blending them into one made-up number.

Competitor details reflect published prices, specs, and lab tests for 2026. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 02

Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you

Wrong firmness causes more regret than any other choice. Match your weight band and position here before you fall for a model.

  • Under 150 lbs: you compress less, so Plush and Luxury Firm feel firmer to you. Luxury Firm may feel too firm.
  • 150 to 230 lbs: the middle band every model targets. Luxury Firm 6.5 fits most here.
  • Over 230 lbs: demand thicker coils and firmer support. HD exists for this band.
Why this matters to you: Your shoulders and hips carry most of your body weight. If a mattress is too firm, pressure builds up and causes numbness and tossing. If it is too soft, your spine sags out of alignment. Finding the right firmness keeps your back flat and joints comfortable.

Compare the mattresses

Six models share one brand but sleep nothing alike. This table lines up construction, firmness, and queen prices so you compare facts, not marketing names.

Why this matters to you: Saatva builds six distinct mattress architectures that feel completely different. Choosing the wrong internal design (such as buying an all-foam Loom & Leaf when you need the responsive bounce of the Classic) is the most common cause of buyer return regret.

Saatva builds six core models spanning coil, latex, foam, and air; the table below compares them spec by spec.

The Classic is the flagship, and the feel most shoppers mean by hotel bed: two stacked steel coil layers instead of one. The top springs cradle your body and ease pressure points, while the base coils keep your lower back supported so you wake without stiffness.

Best For

  • Back and side sleepers who want comfortable cushioning without getting stuck in the bed.
  • Anyone who likes strong edges so they can sit on the side of the bed to put shoes on.
  • Hot sleepers who need coils that let air circulate freely all night long.

Consider Instead If

  • You prefer the deep, contouring hug of memory foam rather than buoyant innerspring bounce.
  • You share a bed with an active sleeper and prioritize maximum motion isolation over coil responsiveness.

Queen $ $2,095 sale (MSRP $2,495)
Coil Gauge 12.5-Gauge Steel

If you or your partner weigh more than 230 pounds, most boxed mattresses start to sag in the middle after a year or two. The Saatva HD solves this by using heavy-duty tempered steel coils, combined with real natural latex and high-density foam that will not pack down under weight.

Best For

  • Sleepers weighing between 230 and 500 pounds who need honest, sag-proof spinal support.
  • Back and stomach sleepers who get terrible lower back pain on softer, unsupportive beds.
  • Couples who need durable edge support so neither person feels like they are rolling off.

Consider Instead If

  • You weigh under 150 pounds and prefer a gentler cushion over firm heavy-duty support.
  • You have standard fitted sheets; the generous 15.5-inch profile fits best with deep-pocket bedding.
Natural Latex Hybrid

Latex Core 3" Talalay Latex

This is Saatva's answer for people who want an eco-friendly, chemical-free bed that stays cool. Instead of polyurethane memory foam, it uses a 3-inch layer of pure natural Talalay latex harvested from rubber trees, sitting on top of individually wrapped coils. Natural wool is used as the fire barrier, so there is zero fiberglass or chemical spray.

Best For

  • Hot sleepers who sweat on regular memory foam and need a breathable, naturally cool bed.
  • Eco-conscious buyers who want organic cotton, pure wool, and hypoallergenic latex.
  • Combination sleepers who change positions frequently and want an easy, springy surface bounce.

Consider Instead If

  • You enjoy a slow-melting memory foam feel rather than naturally resilient, responsive latex.
  • You are shopping for an entry-level price point; natural Talalay latex reflects its premium organic materials.
High-Density Memory Foam

Foam Weight 5.0 lb/cu.ft

Loom & Leaf is the brand's premium memory foam bed, built to rival the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt, which lists at $3,399 in the table below. It uses heavy 5-pound density foam that cradles pressure points, plus a cooling gel layer in the center to keep the lower back from overheating.

Best For

  • Side sleepers with sharp shoulder or hip pain who need deep pressure relief.
  • Light sleepers whose partners toss, turn, or get in and out of bed during the night.
  • People who want a Tempur-Pedic feel without paying $3,399 or more.

Consider Instead If

  • You prefer active innerspring bounce and quick response over body-molding foam.
  • You prioritize extra-rigid steel edge support for sitting along the side of the mattress.

Flippable 2 Comfort Sides

Zenhaven is built entirely from natural latex, with zero petroleum foams or metal coils. What makes it special is that you can flip it: one side is Luxury Plush (4/10) for side sleepers, the other Gentle Firm (6.5/10) for back and stomach sleepers. If your needs change, flip the bed.

Best For

  • People who are nervous about picking the wrong firmness and want two comfort levels in one bed.
  • Allergy sufferers who want natural, mold-resistant, and dust-mite-resistant latex.
  • Long-term buyers; solid natural latex is known to last 15 to 20 years without breaking down.

Consider Instead If

  • You prefer an easy-to-lift lightweight mattress; dense, pure vulcanized latex is substantial in weight.
  • You prefer deep sink-in memory foam over the buoyant, floating feel of natural latex.

The Solaire is the brand's adjustable air bed, aimed at Sleep Number shoppers. Instead of springs, vulcanized rubber air chambers inflate or deflate to 50 firmness settings. On Queen and up, each partner gets a remote, so one side can be soft while the other stays firm.

Best For

  • Couples with completely different body weights or sleeping positions who cannot agree on a bed.
  • People with back injuries or arthritis whose firmness needs change day-to-day.
  • Anyone considering a Sleep Number bed who wants real latex and memory foam on top instead of cheap foam.

Consider Instead If

  • You prefer a simple, non-electric bed without air pumps or wireless remotes to maintain.
  • You are shopping on a modest budget; motorized dual-chamber smart air systems reflect advanced technology.

Chapter 05

How well do the mattresses hold up?

A mattress is a 10-year purchase. Owner records plus warranty thresholds show whether this one holds up or sags.

Two numbers decide most claims: impressions must reach 1.5 inches (0.75 on Zenhaven) with no weight on the bed, and the base must meet slat rules. Measure with a string across the surface, photograph it, and keep the law tag. Without those three, even a real sag gets denied.

Cooling test protocol: Our cooling check looks at surface heat retention over multi-hour sleep periods. Brand cooler-by-degrees lines are maker claims, not lab results.
Why this matters to you: Mattress brands frequently update their internal spring systems and foam formulations without changing the model name. If you read a review from 2018, it evaluated an obsolete component build that differs from the mattress shipping today.

Saatva mattresses are built to last 10 to 15 years. They last much longer than all-foam boxed beds because steel springs do not break down like cheap foam. Real owner data shows that Saatva's dual coil layers resist body impressions. Its dense foam edge rails keep the sides firm so you never roll off.

Here is how the mattress performs across key lifecycle milestones:

  • Years 1 to 2 (Settling Phase): The pillow top settles about 0.25 inches as the cotton shapes to your body. Rotate the bed 180 degrees every 6 months so it wears evenly.
  • Years 3 to 5 (Peak Stability): The steel coils hold their shape and keep supporting your back. Keep slats spaced under 4 inches apart to protect your warranty.
  • Years 6 to 10 (Long-Term Performance): The steel coils stay firm and supportive. Any permanent sag deeper than 1.5 inches qualifies for warranty repair or replacement.

Where sources disagree

  • Saatva HD weight range: the PDP badge says 230 to 500 lbs per sleeper while the product card title says 300 to 500 lbs. We report 230 lbs and flag the discrepancy; both wordings are live on saatva.com as of September 9, 2026.
  • "90% of warranty claims are rejected": this figure appears on a single editorial page with no industry source behind it. We do not repeat it as fact; it is listed here so you know we looked and could not substantiate it.
  • Owner ratings by source: saatva.com shows 4.8/5 across 45,000+ verified owner logs; third-party aggregates run lower (Trustpilot ~3.5/5 from ~1,371 reviews). Different populations (verified buyers vs. self-selected reviewers), so we publish both pools side by side and never average them into one number.
Chapter 06

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees

The trial is your insurance until you read the fee line. Keep periods, return freight, and exchange rules live here.

  • 365 nights from delivery on direct orders.
  • $99 return freight deducted from refunds; exchanges carry a $99 fee.
  • Closeouts and clearance are excluded, and retailer terms differ. Get store terms in writing.
Why this matters to you: While Saatva offers an industry-leading 365-night trial, they deduct a non-refundable $99 transportation fee from all returns to cover white-glove pickup. Knowing this policy upfront prevents surprise deductions.

Saatva gives you a full 365 nights to test your mattress at home. You can return it at any point during that year. If you decide to send it back, Saatva deducts a flat $99 fee from your refund. This fee pays for professional movers to pick up the 120-pound mattress from your bedroom.

Figure 10.1: One 365-night trial, three exits: keep the bed, return it for a refund minus the $99 return freight, or exchange it for a $99 fee and a fresh trial.

The $99 Fee Explained: Unlike boxed bed brands that ask you to dispose of returned foam beds at a dump, Saatva sends a professional two-person logistics team to retrieve the mattress from your bedroom and coordinate donation to a local veteran shelter or charity. The $99 fee covers the labor and vehicle transit cost.

Firmness Exchanges: If you order the Luxury Firm (6.5/10) and find it too stiff, you can exchange it for the Plush Soft (3/10). Saatva delivers the replacement bed, installs it, removes the original mattress, and starts a brand new 365-night trial for a single $99 processing fee.

Trial and return policies reflect Saatva's published rules for 2026. Check the official site to confirm terms before buying.

White glove means different things per brand, and freight delays ruin sleep dates. Read this before you count on a delivery day.

Saatva delivery is free white glove: two-person room setup plus packaging and old mattress removal. Budget the made-to-order wait of 9 to 18 days on top of freight scheduling. Do not throw out your old bed until the new one is set up.

Why this matters to you: Most online mattresses arrive compressed in a cardboard box that off-gases chemical smells and leaves you to haul a 120-pound bed up your stairs. Saatva includes full in-room white-glove setup and old mattress haul-away for free, saving you $150 to $200 in freight labor.

Saatva includes free white glove delivery with every mattress. Most other brands charge $150 to $200 for this service.

Here is how the four-step delivery process works:

  1. Built to order: Your mattress is built fresh at a local factory in 9 to 18 days. It is never squished into a box.
  2. Local hub delivery: The finished bed travels to a delivery depot near your home.
  3. Room of choice setup: Two delivery movers carry the mattress into your bedroom, place it on your frame, and remove all wrapping.
  4. Old bed haul-away: The movers take away your old mattress and box spring for free.

What do the warranties cover?

Most warranty disputes turn on impression depth and base rules. Learn the exact thresholds before you need them.

  • Sag minimums: 1.5 inches standard, 0.75 on Zenhaven, measured unweighted.
  • Base rules: slats 4 inches apart or less (3 or less for Zenhaven and HD). Old flexing box springs void coverage.
  • Stains void claims: use a protector from night one.
Why this matters to you: A "Lifetime Warranty" sounds strong, but payouts are narrow: only qualifying impressions are covered. Most denials trace to two rules: the impression never reached the strict 1.5-inch unweighted depth, or the bed frame slats sat wider than 4 inches apart without center support.

Every Saatva mattress comes with a lifetime warranty called "Friends for Life." If your mattress develops a permanent sag deeper than 1.5 inches, Saatva will fix or replace it.

The Sagging Indentation Standard: Saatva measures the impression unweighted across the surface and requires 1.5 inches on innerspring and hybrid models, or 0.75 inches on the Zenhaven all-latex bed. Normal settling under 1.5 inches in the quilted Euro pillow-top is excluded.

Fairness Replacement Program: Starting in Year 3, if a defect occurs and you would rather have a new mattress than a repair, Saatva lets you keep the old bed and buy a replacement at the discount shown in the card above. The discount steps down at Year 6 and again at Year 11.

Foundation Warranty Checklist

Bed Base Compatibility & Slat Spacing Rules

Warranty Fine Print

Support matters as much as the mattress. Saatva enforces these mandatory foundation criteria:

Base / Foundation Type Compatibility Mandatory Warranty Standard Risk of Voiding Claim
Solid Platform Bed Compatible Rigid, completely flat, non-yielding surface with center support leg on Queen and King Unlevel slats or bowed deck boards that create artificial surface sags
Slatted Wood Frame Compatible Slats must be spaced 4 inches or less apart (3 inches or less for Zenhaven latex and Saatva HD) Slats wider than 4" apart allow coils to bow downward between gaps, voiding warranty
Traditional Wire Box Spring Incompatible Must NOT use flexible coil or wire-grid box springs. Requires a rigid solid foundation Using an old flexing wire box spring voids the lifetime warranty immediately
Adjustable Smart Base Conditional Compatible with 11.5" Classic, Loom & Leaf, Solaire, and Latex Hybrid 14.5" Classic is NOT recommended for adjustable bases due to dual coil-on-coil border stiffness
Center Support Leg Mandatory Queen, King, and California King frames must have a center rail with leg resting firmly on floor Missing center support leg causes central longitudinal sagging not covered under defect clauses

Customer reviews and complaints

Star counts hide the reasons. Praise and complaints are split by root cause so you see what breaks, and for whom.

Read the two pools separately. Brand logs (4.8/5, 45,000+ verified buyers) praise back relief and setup. Open pools (Trustpilot ~3.5/5, ~1,371 reviews) concentrate the $99 fee and freight complaints. Same beds, different populations.

Why this matters to you: The most common comfort complaint is the Luxury Firm feeling firmer than expected. Knowing this upfront lets you choose the Plush Soft configuration immediately and avoid the hassle and fees of an exchange.
How Nappedia Verifies Customer Reviews
Independent Data Audit
  • We compare ratings across Trustpilot, the Better Business Bureau, Google Reviews, and verified purchase logs.
  • We remove incentivized reviews, free promotional products, and gift-card entries before scoring.
  • We keep long-term owner reports separate so coil sagging shows up over time.

Our read of the complaint records finds the same theme everywhere: policy, not broken springs. The $99 return fee dominates the one-star reviews, and the rest point at the made-to-order wait.

Complaint numbers come from 45,000+ real owner reviews and public warranty records.

Here is what verified owners consistently report after 6 months to 3 years of nightly sleep:

  • What Owners Praise: Outstanding lumbar support from the active center wire, zero edge collapse when sitting on the perimeter, and professional two-person delivery teams who assemble the bed in second-floor bedrooms.
  • What Owners Complain About: The biggest complaint is the $99 return fee. If you return the bed, Saatva keeps $99 to cover freight pickup. A small fraction of side sleepers under 130 pounds also feel the Luxury Firm is too firm. They usually exchange it for the Plush Soft.

Chapter 10

What are the mattresses made of?

Foam, latex, coils, and fire barriers decide heat, feel, and safety. Skim this section if you sleep hot or read law tags.

  • Hot sleepers: open coils move air; solid foam traps it. Check the cooling note.
  • Safety readers: the law-tag anatomy shows where fiberglass hides on other brands and what Saatva tags show instead.
  • Spec hunters: gauge, density, latex type, and ILD live in the deep specs table. Undisclosed stays labeled.

Saatva builds the Classic with two layers of steel coils. The top layer has 884 pocket coils (individually wrapped in fabric) that contour to your shape. The bottom layer has 416 strong tempered steel springs for deep pushback. The cover is made from breathable organic cotton. To stop fire safely without fiberglass, Saatva uses a natural thistle pulp barrier. This passes all federal fire safety laws without any chemical sprays.

Independent Certifications & Chemical Safety Matrix

Every raw material component in Saatva mattresses is subjected to third-party emissions and toxicology audits. Here is what independent laboratories have certified:

GOTS Organic Cotton
Cover & Quilt Fabric
Verifies that the cotton is grown naturally without toxic pesticides, weed killers, or synthetic chemicals (License ONE-3420).
CertiPUR-US Certified
Polyurethane & Visco Foams
Certifies that the foam is made without toxic chemicals, lead, heavy metals, or ozone depleters.
GOLD
GREENGUARD Gold
Indoor Air Quality
Meets UL 2818 standards for low chemical and particle emissions into indoor air.
100
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Latex & Textile Fibers
Tests against more than 300 harmful chemicals and qualifies for Class I, the strictest category for direct skin contact.
16 CFR 1633 Flammability
Federal Fire Safety
Passes the mandatory 30-minute open-flame and cigarette-smolder ignition test.
CA AB 1059 Compliant
Fiberglass-Free Status
Law tag review found zero glass components in the tags we checked.
What Mattress Certifications Actually Guarantee (And What They Do Not)

CertiPUR-US only tests the foam layers. It does not certify the whole bed as organic. GOTS certification only covers the outer cotton cover. The inner foams are standard polyfoam. The law tags and filings reviewed for this page show zero chemical flame retardants and zero fiberglass on the models listed above.

Law Tag Safety Check

Law Tag Guide: What Your Mattress Tag Tells You

Every legally compliant mattress sold in the United States carries a permanent Uniform Law Label mandated by federal and state statutes. Reading this tag helps you verify the real factory. It shows exact fiber weights by federal law. It also proves the flame barrier has zero fiberglass.

Why this matters to you: Brand marketing copy is not a legal filing; the sewn law tag discloses filling materials and factory URN under state law sewn to your mattress. It reveals the exact filling materials and factory location by federal law. Sales pages can claim anything, but false statements on tags or in ads can trigger state or FTC enforcement.
Evidence Record 05-A

Physical Uniform Law Tag: Saatva Classic 11.5" Luxury Firm

Statutory Dimensions: 2.75" x 3.75"

How to read it in 30 seconds. Line one names every filling by weight: look for glass, silica, or fiber words, which mean fiberglass. The URN code names the factory state and plant, so you can check who actually built the bed. The maker line must match the brand on the website. On this Saatva tag the fillings read cotton, wool, and thistle with zero glass, and the URN traces to a licensed US plant.

How to Read Your Tag

1
Factory URN

The Uniform Registry Number names the factory and plant that built your bed. On this tag it reads UT-12345 (FL), which traces to a licensed US plant.

2
Filling Weights

Federal law requires every filling listed by weight, so you can see what is inside instead of trusting ad copy. This tag lists 55% polyurethane foam, 25% cotton batting, and 20% rayon and wool char barrier.

3
Fiberglass Check

Scan the filling list for glass, silica, or fiber words, which mean fiberglass. This tag lists cotton, wool, and plant thistle instead, with no glass component called out.

Full law tag guide, factory code decoding, and the certificate glossary live on our shared safety page.

Nappedia Regulatory Takeaway: Never confuse a paid trade marketing seal with real independent laboratory testing. CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD Gold test raw emissions and toxic chemicals in controlled chambers, and the sewn law tag is the one label that lists your exact materials and flame barrier.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?

Direct and retail terms differ enough to change the deal. Buy where trial, fee, and price combine best for you.

Saatva runs 34 viewing rooms with zero-pressure guides and no appointment needed. Rest-test 15 to 20 minutes in your main position on your second-favorite firmness too. First impressions in bright stores skew firm.

Why this matters to you: Testing a mattress for 15 minutes in a viewing room lets you feel the true firmness and bounce in person without committing to an upfront online purchase or potential return freight fee.

You can buy Saatva online, or try the beds in person at a Viewing Room near you.

Saatva Viewing Rooms are quiet, self-serve showrooms: check the specs at a kiosk, then rest-test the beds at your own pace. Pricing, discounts, and the 365-night trial are identical whether you order online or in a room.

How to Rest-Test in 20 Minutes

  • Lie in your main sleep position for 15 to 20 minutes in a quiet room. Short sits tell you nothing.
  • Bring your own pillow so neck height stays true.
  • Try your second-favorite firmness too. Store lighting and nerves skew first impressions.

Saatva vs. other mattress brands

No brand wins every category. This section names where rivals beat Saatva so you buy with open eyes.

Leave for foam sink and low prices (the Nectar Premier card below sits $746 under the Classic), for proven cooling tech (purpose-built cooling lines), and for adjustable air on a budget. Stay for coils, latex, free setup, and the 365-night trial.

Why this matters to you: You might be able to save nearly $200 with WinkBed or get deeper orthopedic joint pressure relief with Tempur-Pedic. Comparing these six alternatives side-by-side reveals whether Saatva is genuinely the best fit for your budget and sleeping position.

How the Saatva Classic compares with six top alternatives, from hotel brands to boxed mattresses.

WinkBed Original luxury hybrid mattress
Luxury hybrid with plush Euro-top cushioning and zoned pocket coils.
Cheaper • Similar Build & Feel
WinkBed Original $1,499 (-$196)
Euro-Top Hybrid • Zoned Pocket Coils • 13.5" Profile • Boxed Shipping
Why choose over Saatva: Offers a similar luxury hotel feel with zoned coils at a lower price. But it ships compressed in a box. Saatva includes free in-room setup and old bed removal.
Nectar Premier memory foam mattress
All-foam memory core delivering deep hug contouring with zero coil bounce.
Cheaper • Different Type (Memory Foam)
Nectar Premier $949 (-$746)
All-Foam Memory Core • 13" Profile • Medium-Firm (6.5/10) • Boxed Shipping
Why choose over Saatva: Choose Nectar if you want an all-foam contouring feel with zero bounce. It costs under $1,000 and absorbs partner movement well.
Helix Midnight Luxe zoned hybrid mattress
Zoned hybrid engineered specifically for side sleepers needing hip pressure relief.
Same Price • Similar Build (Zoned Hybrid)
Helix Midnight Luxe $1,780 (+$85)
Zoned Pocket Coils • Pillow Top • 13.5" Profile • Targeted Side Support
Why choose over Saatva: Helix Midnight has extra soft cushioning under your shoulders. It is a great pick for side sleepers who want more give than Saatva's firm lumbar wire.
Purple Restore Hybrid GelFlex grid mattress
GelFlex grid over pocketed springs for active pushback and temperature regulation.
Same Price • Different Type (Gel Grid)
Purple Restore Hybrid $1,899 (+$204)
2" GelFlex Polymer Grid • Pocket Coils • 11.5" Profile • Maximum Airflow
Why choose over Saatva: Ideal for hot sleepers. The elastic gel grid lets air flow freely so heat never gets trapped. But its squishy feel is unique.
Stearns & Foster Estate innerspring mattress
Heritage department-store innerspring built with hand tufting and dual coils.
More Expensive • Similar Build (Heritage)
Stearns & Foster Estate $2,499 (+$804)
IntelliCoil Innerspring • Tencel Cover • 15" Profile • Department Store Delivery
Why choose over Saatva: Delivers classic department-store luxury with heavy coils and velvet upholstery. But it costs $2,499 Queen and has a short 90-night trial.
Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt orthopedic memory foam mattress
Premium orthopedic memory foam providing maximum joint pressure absorption.
More Expensive • Different Type (Visco)
Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt $3,399 (+$1,704)
Aerospace TEMPUR Material • Cool-to-Touch Cover • 12" Profile • White Glove
Why choose over Saatva: The gold standard for deep orthopedic pressure relief. Tempur memory foam cushions joints deeply. But it costs $1,704 more Queen and sleeps warmer.
Competitor details reflect published prices, specs, and lab tests for 2026. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.

How we test and report

How we researched this page, what we checked and dated, and what we could not confirm. This section shows the method behind every number on the page.

Why this investigation exists: every month, Nappedia invests in state licensing databases, public records requests, and a dedicated research team to check every fact that helps you make a better mattress buying decision.

A single review site rarely shows you how a bed was tested, and one score says little about how a mattress cushions your joints or holds its shape over five to ten years of nightly use. Verifiable construction data is what settles it.

How we check this page

What we check: live product and policy pages, warranty terms, law-tag photos, and published third-party teardown reports.

Check dates: every number on this page carries the date we last confirmed it, and prices were rechecked September 9, 2026.

Verified-only rule: a claim stays out of the copy until a named source confirms it, and gaps are published as gaps instead of filled in.

Consensus score: third-party mean 91 out of 100, not a blended site score; the method simply averages the 7 named outlet scores listed above and rounds the result.

What stays unverified: foam density ratings, adhesive formulations, and long-term sagging rates that the maker has not published.

Quick Answers Before You Buy

Short answers to the questions buyers ask most, grouped by topic. Each answer links back to the section above it.

Safety and materials

Does Saatva use fiberglass?

No. Law tags and material lists reviewed for the models on this page show no glass components, and the fire barrier uses thistle pulp and wool instead. Verify the tag on the exact bed you receive, because suppliers and builds can change. Full material breakdown: what the mattresses are made of.

What firmness works for my sleep position?

Firmer builds suit back and stomach sleepers, while side sleepers usually need more cushioning at the shoulder and hip. The Classic comes in Plush, Luxury Firm, and Firm, and the HD runs firmer for heavier sleepers. Compare positions at which mattress suits your sleep needs.

Which model sleeps coolest?

Open-coil hybrids move air better than all-foam beds, so the Classic, HD, and Latex Hybrid tend to sleep cooler than the Loom & Leaf. No topper fixes a hot bed for a full night. See the coil builds side by side at compare the mattresses.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The dual-coil Classic uses steel springs and dense perimeter rails, which resist sagging better than an all-foam core. Saatva publishes wire gauges and foam types but not foam density ratings or adhesive formulas. What we could and could not confirm: how well the mattresses hold up.

Buying and policies

How long is the trial and is there a return fee?

Direct orders include a 365-Night Trial. If you return the mattress, a flat $99 transportation fee is deducted from your refund, and an exchange to a different firmness costs the same $99 and restarts the trial. Terms: sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty is non-prorated and covers manufacturing defects, including sagging past 1.5 inches on innerspring models and 0.75 inches on the Zenhaven. It requires a proper base with slats no wider than 4 inches or less, plus center support on larger sizes. Details: what the warranties cover.

How long does delivery take?

Made-to-order beds typically arrive within 9 to 18 days of ordering, and white-glove crews set up the new mattress and remove the old one in the same visit. Timing varies by market and during sale periods. Steps and timing: delivery, setup and old-mattress removal.

Classic or Latex Hybrid?

Choose the Classic for a traditional innerspring feel with three firmness levels, listed at $1,695 (Sale) for a queen. Choose the Latex Hybrid for a springier Talalay latex layer that sleeps cooler, listed at $1,995 (Sale). Compare both builds at compare the mattresses.

How much does a queen cost?

Queen sale prices run from $1,695 (Sale) for the Classic to $2,795 (Sale) for the adjustable Solaire. The HD, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven sit in between. Prices move with seasonal promos, so confirm the current figure before you order. Full grid: mattress prices and value.

Where can I try one?

Saatva sells direct, with 34 viewing rooms listed for in-person testing, and walk-ins are welcome. Mattresses are built to order, so showrooms hold display models rather than take-home stock. Find a location: where can you try and buy the mattresses.
