Buy the Saatva Contour5 if you share a bed and want a medium memory-foam feel with a cooling layer. Its edge results differ by tester, and the Queen price is high for an all-foam bed. Skip it if you sleep near the edge, want springy support, or need a firm choice; today's product listing shows Medium only.

Saatva Contour5
Pros
Less partner motion. Sleep Foundation found strong motion control, though another lab measured less.
Cooling materials. Gel foam and a phase-change layer are designed to manage heat.
Cushioned feel. The dense foam layers can ease pressure around the shoulders and hips.
Cons
Mixed edge results. Outside testers disagree on how well the sides hold up.
One listed feel. Saatva's current page shows Medium, while older reviews describe firmer options.
High Queen price. The Queen price is $3,179 as of October 7, 2026.
How firm is the Saatva Contour5, and which firmness should you pick?
Today, Saatva lists one feel: Medium (5-7/10). Older reviews from Sleep Foundation and NapLab also list Medium Firm and Firm. Those reviews do not match the current Saatva page today. It is not clear if Saatva removed Firm or if testers tried another setup. If you want a firm feel, ask Saatva what you can order.
Is the Saatva Contour5 right for your sleep position and body weight?
Medium may suit side and back sleepers who want a close foam feel; stomach sleepers may find their hips sink too far. Saatva rates the bed for up to 300 pounds per sleeper. Sleep Foundation and NapLab disagreed on edge support, scoring it 6/10 and 10/10. Treat the edges cautiously if you sit near the side, and expect less bounce than a coil bed.
It may help some people feel supported, but these sources do not show that it treats back pain. Saatva points to a phase-change layer in the lumbar area and gel foam for support. Sleep Foundation rated pressure relief 9/10, and NapLab rated it 10/10. Those are mattress tests, not clinical studies. People with lasting back pain should ask a clinician for advice.
It is designed to sleep cooler than traditional memory foam, but test results differ. Saatva points to a phase-change lumbar layer and gel memory foam with airflow channels. NapLab rated cooling 9/10, while Sleep Foundation gave it 7/10. Tom's Guide still warns that very hot sleepers may want a cooler choice. This is a reasonable foam pick for warm sleepers, not a guarantee of cool sleep.
Some partners may feel less motion on this all-foam bed, but test scores conflict. Sleep Foundation rated motion isolation 9.5/10; NapLab gave it 6.7/10. Both reports are outside tests, and their methods may differ. The layers have less bounce than a coil mattress. A light sleeper may want to compare both scores and the room they share. Treat the motion-control claim as promising, not settled.
Saatva lists the Queen at $3,179 as of October 7, 2026. The mattress has a 12.5-inch profile and comes in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King and Split King sizes. The Queen weighs 92 pounds. Older outside reports list other Queen prices, so check the current total for your size before buying. It is a premium price for an all-foam bed.
You can buy the Contour5 from Saatva, and you can try Saatva beds at a Viewing Room. The Saatva location list counted 35 Viewing Rooms on September 25, 2026. Phone sleep guides are also available. The location list does not say if each room shows the Contour5, so call before you visit.

It is built from foam layers and has no coils. From the top down, the parts include a knit cover, cellulose fire barrier, phase-change lumbar layer, gel 4-pound memory foam, 3-inch 5-pound memory foam, transition foam and a foam base. Saatva lists a 12.5-inch profile and a 92-pound Queen. Deep-pocket sheets may fit it best; the brand does not list every layer's thickness.
Saatva says the Contour5 has a plant-based cellulose fire barrier with GREENGUARD Gold certification. The cover is knit, and the foam has gel memory foam. The product page does not name a CertiPUR-US badge for this model. NapLab noted a strong new-foam smell for three days in its comparison. Let the bed air out after delivery if you notice a smell.
No. Saatva says the Contour5 uses no fiberglass and has a cellulose fire barrier with GREENGUARD Gold certification. The barrier covers all six sides, according to the product information. These are the brand's statements. To check your own mattress, read the sewn law tag or ask Saatva about a material name you do not recognize.
You can use a firm platform, box spring, foundation or adjustable base. Saatva also lists a bunkie board, standard frame and Murphy bed as options. For a platform, keep the slats less than 4 inches apart and use solid support. A weak or damaged base may affect warranty coverage. Check the Saatva rules before you reuse an old frame.
How long will it last, and does it need flipping or rotating?
Saatva estimates the Contour5 may last 10 to 15 years with normal use, but this is not a long-term test. Sleep Foundation rated durability 6.5/10. Turn the mattress head to foot after six months, then once a year; never flip it. Saatva says new materials may soften over a few days to a month. Keep the mattress on a firm, supported base to limit sagging.
Saatva includes free room setup with every Contour5 order. Its White Glove team brings the bed in and sets it up. Saatva says delivery usually takes 9 to 21 days. You can ask to have your old mattress and foundation removed at checkout. This service is free, with some limits. An adult must be home.

You get 365 nights to try the Contour5 at home, starting when it arrives. If you return it, Saatva picks it up and keeps $99 from your refund. An exchange also costs $99. The trial page does not require a minimum trial period. Read the trial terms before you order.

Saatva gives the first buyer a lifetime warranty. It says covered flaws get a new mattress in years 1 and 2. From year 3 on, repair and cover service costs a $149 transport fee. A weak base, stains, burns or tampering may void coverage. Check the warranty rules before you file a claim.
Loom & Leaf is another all-foam bed from Saatva. NapLab calls Loom & Leaf a medium feel with deep sink. The Contour5 is a medium feel with cooling materials. Other named options are Nectar Premier, a lower-cost foam choice, and Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt. Compare current prices and return terms before you order. They can change.
Has the Saatva Contour5 changed since it launched?
Firmness lists differ, but the pages do not confirm a model change. The current Saatva page lists Medium (5-7/10). A 2024 Sleep Foundation review and a NapLab chart also list firmer options. Those older reports show what testers saw then, not what Saatva sells today. They do not confirm when the options changed, if they did, or any name or layer change.
We did not test the Contour5 in person. We read Saatva's product, trial, delivery, warranty and help pages, plus outside tests and dated price reports from Sleep Foundation, NapLab and Tom's Guide; the bundle sources were checked on September 24 and 25, and the research row on October 6, 2026. We used the registry snapshot checked on October 7, 2026.
