The 30-second verdict

Consider the Rx if you want plush pressure relief around your shoulders or hips. Saatva markets it for ongoing back and joint conditions, but does not promise treatment. The catch is its $3,639 Queen price and 15-inch height, which calls for deep-pocket sheets; skip it if you need a firmer feel or sleep on your back or stomach above 130 lbs.

Best forSide sleepers with sore shoulders or hips who want a soft top over real support
Not ideal forBack and stomach sleepers over 130 lbs, who may sink too far

Feel & Fit

How firm is the Saatva Rx, and which firmness should you pick?

The Rx has one Supportive Plush feel, which Saatva labels 3-4/10. Outside testers rated it differently: NapLab and Sleep Advisor each gave it 6/10, while Sleep Foundation called it Medium Soft at 4/10. These are separate scoring systems, so the scores are not exact matches. There is no second feel to choose; compare the brand label with the outside scores before you buy.

Is the Saatva Rx right for your sleep position and body weight?

The Rx may suit side and combination sleepers, while some back and stomach sleepers over 130 lbs may sink too far. Saatva's fit guidance warns of that risk, and its product page lists a limit of up to 300 lbs per sleeper. NapLab gave response 9.8/10, a point in its favor for people who change positions. Edge scores differ: NapLab gives 9.2/10 and Sleep Foundation gives 7/10, while NCOA lists weak edges. If you sit or sleep near the edge, weigh those mixed results.

Feel & Fit

Is the Saatva Rx good for back pain?

The Rx scored well for pressure relief. No clinical evidence shows that it treats back pain. Saatva markets it for ongoing back and joint conditions, but does not promise treatment. NapLab gave it 10/10 for pressure relief. NCOA gave it 4.32/5 for pain relief. Sleep Advisor says its testers saw spinal alignment in each position. These are test and editorial findings, not clinical proof. For severe or lasting pain, ask a health professional before you rely on a mattress.

Feel & Fit

How cool or hot does it sleep?

Outside reviewers gave the Rx positive cooling scores, so it may suit people who sleep warm. NapLab rated temperature control 9.0/10 and Sleep Foundation rated it 8/10. Saatva lists a cotton cover and foam with graphite and phase-change material; its coil layers can also let air move. These design details and scores suggest a cooler feel, but they do not guarantee every sleeper will stay cool.

Will you feel your partner move?

Expect some partner motion on the Rx. NapLab rated motion isolation 7.4/10, Sleep Foundation 8/10, and Sleep Advisor called it lackluster. Its responsive coil build may make it easier to change positions, but a light sleeper may notice a partner move. If that is a concern, Sleep Foundation rated the Contour5's motion isolation 9.5/10. The Rx trades stillness for response, so compare the beds on the need that matters most.

Price & Buying

Sizes, heights and prices: is it worth the money?

The $3,639 Queen price is costly; the Rx may be worth considering if its plush feel and pain-focused design fit your needs. It stands 15 inches tall and comes in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King and Split King sizes. NapLab listed a lower Queen price in May 2026. That was an earlier price, not the current Queen price of $3,639. Check Saatva for current prices and dimensions for each size; its 15-inch profile needs deep-pocket sheets.

Where can you buy or try it?

You can order the Rx from Saatva's site or phone line. Its locations page lists Viewing Rooms where shoppers can try a mattress before ordering. Saatva's locations page listed 35 rooms on September 25, 2026; check the list before making a trip, since the count can change. The Rx is ordered from Saatva rather than bought from a third-party store.

Build & Safety

How is it built?

The Rx stacks foam and coils beneath its organic cotton cover. From top to bottom: Lumbar Zone quilting with gel memory foam, micro-coils, Rx Wave-Tech foam, then an 8 inch comfort coil unit with foam edges. Saatva says the Wave-Tech foam uses graphite and phase-change material. The Queen weighs 124 lbs, according to its product FAQ, and the mattress is 15 inches high. Saatva does not publish foam densities. Plan for deep-pocket sheets; per-size dimensions were not found.

Materials and certifications

The Rx uses CertiPUR-US certified foam and has a GREENGUARD badge on its product page. CertiPUR-US checks foam, not the whole mattress. Saatva also shows an ACA endorsement. It is an endorsement, not a lab test. The product lists graphite and phase-change material in its foam. NapLab rated odor from a new Rx 10/10. Saatva does not say how long any odor lasts.

Build & Safety

Does the Saatva Rx have fiberglass?

Saatva says it does not use fiberglass in any of its mattresses. Saatva says the Rx uses a plant-based thistle fire barrier made of wood pulp with a little polyester. Check the sewn law tag for the fillings in the mattress you receive. The tag can help you confirm what is inside your bed.

Build & Safety

What bed base does it need?

The Rx fits a platform, box spring or foundation, and Saatva lists it as adjustable-base compatible. An existing box spring should be under 7 years old and in good shape. For a Queen or larger, use center support and slats less than 4 inches apart. These base rules can affect warranty coverage, so check the frame before delivery and confirm it meets Saatva's rules.

Build & Safety

How long will it last, and does it need flipping or rotating?

Saatva estimates the Rx can last 10 to 15 years with normal use, but independent long-term data was not found. Its care guidance says not to flip the mattress. Rotate it after month six, then once each year. The brand says break-in can take from a few days to a month. Its warranty covers a body dip deeper than 1.5 inches, but proper support is required.

Delivery, setup and old mattress removal

Trials, returns and fees

The 365-night trial starts on delivery. If you return the Rx, Saatva arranges pickup and charges $99; an exchange also costs $99. The brand page says the return fee comes out of your refund and lists no required minimum trial period. That gives you time to see how the single feel works at home, but returning or swapping is not free.

What does the warranty cover, and what voids it?

The Rx has a lifetime warranty for its first owner. It covers flaws and dips over 1.5 inches. Stains, burns, a weak base, tampering or resale can void it. In years 1 and 2, Saatva replaces a bed with a covered flaw. From year 3 on, repair and re-cover carry a $149 processing fee. Keep your proof of purchase and photos of any problem when you file a claim.

What do owners like and complain about?

Owners praise back and joint comfort. Some mention partner motion and the 15-inch profile. No Rx-only review count is listed, so these themes may not fit every owner. Sleep Advisor shows a brand-curated customer score of 4.8/5. Its reviewer score is 4.4/5. NapLab's 9.10 and Sleep Foundation's 8.5 are reviewer scores, not owner averages. These themes are anecdotes. They do not show how often each issue comes up.

How does the Saatva Rx compare?

Compared with the Classic, the Rx offers one plush feel at a higher Queen price, while NapLab found no unique pressure-relief score. Pick the Rx if its pain-focused design fits you; pick the Classic for three feels at a lower price. The Rx Queen price is $3,639. The lower Queen price is for the Classic, not the Rx. NapLab gave 10/10 to the Rx and two Classic feels.

Has the Saatva Rx changed since it launched?

No published construction changes are listed for the Rx since its 2023 launch. Saatva introduced it as a mattress for chronic back and joint conditions. The current product page lists the present build, but gives no dated history of design changes since launch.

How we research and report

We checked Saatva's product, policy and trial pages in September 2026 and rechecked key details on October 7. We also read outside tests and owner reviews available through October 6, 2026; we did not test the Rx in person.
