The best mattress stores in and near Downers Grove, Illinois

Updated October 18, 2026 · 23 stores, each checked against its own website

The best mattress stores in and near Downers Grove are Walter E Smithe Furniture Oak Brook, Wheaton Mattress Showroom and Mattress Firm South. We rank stores by how many mattress brands you can try in person, then by how many of their delivery, old-bed removal and return policies they post, counting one location per chain. We checked 23 stores within 8 miles of central Downers Grove, and no store pays to be listed.

  1. Walter E Smithe Furniture Oak Brook: 9 brands to try, including Tempur-Pedic, Serta and Deer Valley Designs. Oak Brook, 5.3 mi, open Sunday; no returns.
  2. Wheaton Mattress Showroom: 7 brands to try, including Tempur-Pedic, Purple and Sealy. Wheaton, 4.9 mi, open Sunday; old-bed removal offered, publishes a return policy.
  3. Mattress Firm South: 6 brands to try, including Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster and Purple. South Downers Grove, 3 mi, open Sunday; old-bed removal offered.

A few minutes on a showroom bed will not tell you how it feels after a month at home. Pick a bed you trust from a store whose exchange and return policy you can live with: only 11 of the 23 stores here post a policy that lets you return a bed.
