Yaasa Mattress Review

Yaasa was a Santa Barbara direct-to-consumer brand that sold USA-made hybrids. The 11 to 12 inch Yaasa Mattress (Soft or Firm) cost $899 to $1,499. The 10 inch Yaasa ONE cost $549 to $999. Both had a 100-night trial and a 10-year limited warranty. It's a good match if you like coil hybrids and plan to pair one with an adjustable base. The big catch is that the mattress line is discontinued. Yaasa.com now sells only office furniture, so you'd be buying secondhand if you found one.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

The brand's FAQ gave clear advice. If you're a side or combination sleeper, choose Soft. It gives extra at the hips and shoulders and stays stable. If you sleep on your back or stomach, choose Firm for a flat, aligned spine. Sleepers over 220 lb may prefer Firm, and sleepers under 130 lb may prefer Soft.

Yaasa ONE was pitched for back, side and stomach sleepers who want one middle feel with no decision. Sleep Advisor rated it 6 of 10 medium. Couples get motion isolation from the wrapped coils and foam. The Soft tested well for pressure relief. If you want a split king with separate firmness, you'd need two Twin XL mattresses on two Twin XL bases.

If you sleep hot, you'll want the details. Sleep Advisor credited aerated foams, gel infusion, coil airflow and a moisture-wicking Tencel cover. One owner said it does sleep a little hot, though, and no independent temperature testing was published. Both models work with adjustable bases, and the adjustable bed accepts most modern mattresses except waterbeds.

Mattress prices and value

The Yaasa Mattress (Soft or Firm) cost $899 for a Twin and $949 for a Twin XL. A Full was $1,099, a Queen was $1,299, and a King or Cal King was $1,499. Yaasa ONE cost $549, $599, $699 and $899 for the first four sizes. King and Cal King were $999. These come from the official product pages in 2020 to 2022 captures.

The Sleep System bundle paired an adjustable bed with a free Yaasa Mattress. It cost $1,699 for a Twin XL, $1,999 for a Queen, $2,399 for a King and $3,199 for a Split King, against $2,348 to $4,597 list prices. The ONE version ran $999 to $1,999 against $1,598 to $2,948 list.

You got free shipping and free returns in the contiguous US. Affirm financing was 0% APR over 3, 6 or 12 months (6, 12 or 18 months on the ONE page), plus a Katapult option, with a soft credit check. In-store orders at the Santa Barbara showroom took 10% off plus 2 free pillows. Sleepopolis published a $50 discount code. Since the line is retired, there isn't any current pricing or clearance, and any stock you find is secondhand.

What are the mattresses made of?

Both builds are pocket-coil hybrids with CertiPUR-US certified foams. That means no ozone depleters, PBDE or TDCPP/TCEP flame retardants, and low VOC emissions under 0.5 ppm. The brand site says the latex in its constructions is certified to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS).

The official Yaasa Mattress spec is 11 inches. It has 2 inches of YaasaFlex foam in a soft or firm blend, which the brand calls a plush, velvety TitanFlex foam that increases airflow. Below that sit 2 inches of high-density transition foam, a 6-inch edge-to-edge coil system with over 900 individually wrapped coils and 1 inch of high-density base foam.

Outside reviewers describe a 12-inch build. It has a Tencel cover infused with Cooling Infinity Foam that zips off for spot cleaning. Under it are 2 inches of gel-infused Infinity Foam (1 inch on the Firm). Next comes 1 inch of Hybrid Transition Foam using responsive natural latex (an extra inch on the Firm). An 8-inch pocketed coil unit, which Sleepopolis calls the Quantum Edge Coil System, sits above 1 inch of support foam.

Yaasa ONE is 10 inches, with 0.75 inch of Cooling Infinity Foam, 2 inches of transition foam, a 6-inch pocket coil system and 0.75 inch of base foam. Owners mention a quilted gel cover. The brand doesn't publish OEKO-TEX, organic cotton or GREENGUARD certifications (checked September 2026). It also doesn't disclose fabric beyond Tencel.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The warranty is your main durability evidence. Both models carried a 10-year limited warranty from the purchase date. It isn't transferable and applies in all 50 US states. It covers loose, broken or protruding coils or foam inserts. It also covers visible body impressions greater than 1.5 inches, measured at the center away from stitch lines, and sagging not caused by an improper foundation.

In years 1 to 5, Yaasa provided a new mattress at no charge (or a comparable one if discontinued) and recycled the old one. In years 6 and 7 you'd get a credit worth 60% of the purchase price. Years 8 and 9 paid 50%, and year 10 paid 30%. The credit was usable within 90 days, and you paid shipping.

Exclusions include comfort preference after the trial, stains, physical damage, an improper foundation, normal wear, delivery damage, and commercial or medical use. Unauthorized sellers, repairs, modifications, zippers, bed height and sheet fit were out too. So was failing to unbox the mattress within 14 days of delivery. We found no independent durability testing. The brand site showed 4.93 of 5 from 73 ratings for the Yaasa Mattress and 4.90 of 5 from 20 reviews for ONE, with owners citing 2 to 3 years of continued comfort.

Customer reviews and complaints

The brand site rated the Yaasa Mattress 4.93 out of 5 from 73 ratings, with reviews dated September 2017 to April 2022. Yaasa ONE had 4.90 of 5 from 20 reviews. You'll see praise that centers on comfort, easy setup, less sinking than all-foam beds, customer service and long-term comfort.

Sleep Advisor scored the Yaasa 9.4 of 10 in 2020. It gave 9.5 for materials and quality, 9.3 for support and comfort and 9.5 for edge support. It noted some slow response in the upper foam. Sleepopolis scored it 3.8 of 5 in a review updated November 22, 2022. It praised the pressure relief and bouncy support, breathability and adjustable-base pairing.

Complaints are few. One owner and one earlier site review said it sleeps a little hot. Reviewers noted the brand has gone quiet. Some limits could frustrate you. You get one exchange per customer and one return per household or address per year. You have 30 days to report a defect and 14 days to unbox. We couldn't find a BBB, Trustpilot or Google profile for the mattress line as of September 2026. Sitejabber shows 0 reviews, so there's no complaint data to compare with the 4.9 averages.

Where can you try and buy?

Yaasa sold direct through yaasa.com to the contiguous US. Phone support was +1 855 622-3711, and email was hello@yaasa.com. You won't find any, since we found no Amazon, Walmart, eBay or Wayfair mattress listings. Don't expect to find them there.

You could try a bed at the Santa Barbara showroom, 3016 De La Vina Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. It was open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with weekends by appointment. Sleep Sherpa showrooms in Chicago, IL 60654 and at 7313 Washington Ave S., Edina, MN 55439 let you try the mattress and adjustable bed. A retail-partnership program was open to dealers.

As of September 2026, every yaasa.com locale lists only height-adjustable desks, desk frames, office chairs and accessories. GoodBed lists the brand and its three models (Yaasa Soft, Yaasa One, Yaasa Firm) as discontinued. The brand never named a sibling brand sharing its Phoenix, Arizona factory.

Delivery, setup and removal

Mattresses were made to order in Phoenix and shipped free by FedEx Ground within the contiguous 48 states. The product page said they typically ship within 10 to 12 business days. The FAQ said construction takes 7 to 10 business days. In-stock products ship in 1 to 3 business days from Grand Rapids, Michigan or Santa Barbara, California, and arrive in 2 to 7 business days. International shipping was quote-only.

The brand doesn't publish white-glove, in-home setup or old-mattress removal. The FAQ offered to help you arrange disposal if you emailed hello@yaasa.com. You'll need to unbox within 2 weeks of the ship date or risk voiding the warranty. Keep the law tags attached if you plan to donate.

You don't need a box spring. The mattress works on foundations, platform beds, slatted foundations, adjustable foundations or the floor. Slatted frames may need slats removed for the adjustable bed. That base arrived boxed for you to assemble, with instructions and a video. It stands on 7-inch legs and supports up to 700 lb. It raises the head to 60 degrees and the foot to 28 degrees. It includes USB outlets, under-bed lights and wall-hugging technology.

Sleep trial and returns

You got 100 nights from delivery. You started a return or exchange by emailing hello@yaasa.com before the trial ended. Return shipping and pickup were free, and Yaasa donated or recycled the mattress. Law tags had to stay attached for donation. Refunds went to your original payment method after inspection, typically within 7 to 10 business days. You didn't need the original packaging for a mattress.

Limits applied. You got one exchange per customer, for a model of equal or lesser value. You could make only one return per household or address per year. Warehouses won't take returns without written approval. You were asked to sleep on it at least 30 nights first. The adjustable bed had a 30-night trial with the same one-per-year limit.

If the mattress came free with a bed, you couldn't return it alone. It went back with the bed. For context, blankets had a 30-day trial with a $19.99 inspection fee that wasn't refundable. Sheets, pillow and sleep mask had 100 nights. Office furniture had 30 days. The brand doesn't publish a mattress restocking fee (checked September 2026).

Warranty

The Yaasa Mattress and Yaasa ONE carried a 10-year limited warranty for the original purchaser. It isn't transferable and applies in all 50 US states. It starts on the purchase date with proof of purchase. It covers defects in material and workmanship. It also covers loose, broken or ripped coils, foam inserts, body impressions over 1.5 inches and sagging not tied to a bad support system.

Exclusions are long. They include comfort preference after the trial, removing the inner fire barrier, bad foundations, stains, burns, cuts, liquids and bodily fluids. Others are delivery damage, normal wear, carrying it by the handles, unauthorized repairs and non-authorized purchases. Failing to unbox and expand it within 14 days is excluded too. So are zippers, bed height, sheet fit, commercial or medical use and loss-of-use costs.

To make a claim, you email hello@yaasa.com within 30 days of finding the defect, with your receipt, order details and photos. Yaasa may require you to ship the mattress back at your risk and cost. Years 1 to 5 bring a free replacement. Years 6 and 7 bring a 60% credit, years 8 and 9 bring 50%, and year 10 brings 30%. Each credit lasts 90 days, and you pay shipping.

The Yaasa Adjustable Bed had its own 10-year limited warranty. The first year covered parts and labor with free replacement parts and shipping. Years 2 to 10 covered steel, aluminum and mechanical parts. You'd pay shipping and 1/10 of the current part cost per year of ownership. Electronics, motors and massage motors were excluded after year one.

Yaasa vs. other brands

Sleep Advisor's 2020 review rated Yaasa 9.4 of 10 and said the coils give above-average edge support versus most bed-in-a-box and all-foam mattresses. Sleepopolis scored it 3.8 of 5. It measured the Soft at about 5.75 of 10, softer than the 6.5 industry standard, so firm-feel shoppers needed the Firm.

Yaasa beat all-foam rivals on coil bounce, airflow, a moisture-wicking Tencel cover, two firmness options and free return pickup. It had a 1.5 inch sag clause in a 10-year warranty. It lost on organic options, independent testing and showroom reach, with one showroom and two Sleep Sherpa shops. It doesn't have OEKO-TEX or GREENGUARD certification. Against dealer brands, you'd get lower prices and a 100-night trial but no in-store bargaining.

Today, Casper, Nectar, Purple and Saatva hybrids are still sold and supported. Yaasa isn't. GoodBed marks all three of its mattress models Discontinued. That makes it relevant mainly if you're buying secondhand or researching adjustable-base pairings.
