Wyoming King Bed Company Mattress Review
Wyoming King Bed Company is an oversized-bed specialist. Since 2001 it has hand-built one 7 ft by 7 ft (84 by 84 inch) mattress in North Carolina. It comes in three models: The Original, The Royale and The Grand Royale. Prices run $2,100 to $7,500, with free curbside shipping. You should know that mattresses are final sale. Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
If you sleep on your back or stomach, pick The Original or the firm side of The Grand Royale. If you sleep on your side, The Royale in Soft or Medium is the brand's own side-sleeper pick for latex pressure relief. The medium side of The Grand Royale works too.
Hot sleepers can look at The Royale or Grand Royale. They pair a cashmere cover with HyperCool and open-cell latex airflow. Couples, co-sleeping families, kids, pets and tall sleepers get room in any model. At 84 by 84 inches, it's 8 inches wider and 4 inches longer than a standard king.
You can choose firmness only on The Royale. The Original is firm only, and The Grand Royale is two-sided. The brand doesn't publish a plush or pillow-top option beyond The Royale Soft (checked September 2026). Custom sizes must be arranged by phone at +1 877 267 7772.
Mattress prices and value
The Original is $2,100 on sale, down from $2,800. The Royale is $2,600 on sale, down from $3,600, in Soft, Medium or Firm. The Grand Royale is $7,500. Both sale prices were live when we checked. The product pages say the sale ends September 23 at 11:59 PM PST.
It's fair value for a USA-made custom oversized mattress with no mainstream rival at 84 by 84 inches. It's also cheaper than the sister brand Alaskan King Bed Company, whose Grand Royale starts around $10,000. Flexibility value is weak, since each bed is made to order and final sale. Rush production adds $400 for a mattress, $500 for a frame or $600 for both.
Financing is through Affirm at 0% to 36% APR over 3, 6 or 18 months, subject to credit approval. The Grand Royale page advertises no money down and 0% APR. You'll find limited options under $350.
What are the mattresses made of?
All three mattresses are one-piece designs made with CertiPUR-US certified foams. That means no ozone depleters, no heavy metals such as mercury or lead, no prohibited phthalates, no formaldehyde and no PBDE fire retardants. VOCs are low. All are described as handcrafted in the USA.
The Original has a quilted organic cotton cover, 2 inches of HyperCool material and a PostureSupport base. The Royale has a quilted cashmere cover, a 2-inch HyperCool layer, 2 inches of natural latex foam and a PostureSupport base. Organic cotton is also named in its description. The Grand Royale has a 100% breathable cashmere cover, HyperCool material and open-cell natural latex in a two-sided build.
The brand doesn't publish a full layer-by-layer breakdown with foam densities, ILD ratings or latex sourcing (checked September 2026). Mattresses ship assembled in one piece and folded in half, not compressed in a box. The brand calls this its original mattress-in-a-box concept.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The brand backs the beds with a 10-year limited warranty. It covers impressions over 1.5 inches, foam cracking from a physical flaw and cover zipper defects. The Grand Royale is two-sided, so you can flip it for even wear. Its free care plan sends a team once a year for three years to flip, rotate and clean it.
The brand's care advice is to rotate the mattress every six months and use a mattress protector. Spot clean with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid benzoyl peroxide, alpha hydroxy acids and chlorine bleach.
The brand doesn't publish independent durability testing or owner reports at the 5-year mark (checked September 2026). Its site doesn't show review dates, so you can't verify how these beds age. The closest signal is one owner's complaint about soft edge support on The Royale.
Customer reviews and complaints
The brand's own review pages show 111 reviews. About 90% are five stars and 7% are four stars. Roughly 1% each are three, two and one star. The Grand Royale has 9 reviews at 100% five-star. The Original has 17 at 94% five-star and 6% four-star. The Royale has 55 at 89% five-star and 11% four-star.
Praise includes "Best mattress we've ever owned," room for families and tall sleepers, sturdy easy-assembly frames, fast shipping and soft bedding. One buyer called a $150 mattress protector "NOT waterproof." The company replied that it's water-resistant. Another said bamboo sheets "shrink after first wash." A Royale owner wanted firmer edges. An Original owner found it "way firmer than I expected", so check the feel.

Where can you try and buy?
You can buy direct at wyomingkingbeds.com. You can also book a showroom and workshop visit in Claremont, North Carolina, open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. The Stores page names Claremont, NC. The FAQ and warranty give Conover, NC as the workshop and warrantor address. The site doesn't reconcile the two, and it doesn't publish the full street address (checked September 2026).
Phone support is +1 877 267 7772, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern. Email is support@custommattressfactory.com. We found no retail partners or dealers. The brand sells directly to remove middlemen, so you can't try the beds in a general mattress store.
Delivery, setup and removal
Shipping is free ground shipping to the contiguous 48 states from the North Carolina workshop. It typically takes 1 to 3 weeks, and rush production is available by phone. Beds ship by FedEx Ground or LTL freight, curbside by default. They arrive in one piece, folded in half to fit a standard doorway. Unpack the mattress within two weeks so it can expand completely.
White-glove delivery is free only with The Grand Royale. It includes in-home setup, frame assembly if bought together and packaging disposal. The team can't move furniture you didn't buy from the brand, so you'll need to clear the space. Rush production is $400 for a mattress, $500 for a frame and $600 for both.
Storage at the local terminal beyond 24 hours costs $50 to $75 per day. Cancelling after shipping but before a delivery attempt costs round-trip shipping plus a 30% restocking fee. High-rise, long-driveway or unusual-space deliveries may add fees. Canada orders are quoted by phone. The brand doesn't publish old-mattress removal (checked September 2026).
Sleep trial and returns
The brand doesn't publish a sleep trial. The returns page is blunt. It says "Mattresses and furniture are not eligible for returns or exchanges once delivered." Only unopened bedding can be returned within 30 days of receipt. You'd get a refund less a 10% restocking fee, and you pay original and return shipping. Sale bedding is final sale.
Once a delivery attempt is made, you can't cancel. Because every bed is made to order, confirm the size, firmness and door clearance before you order. You can call +1 877 267 7772 to check.
Warranty
Mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty, or 3 years for trade customers. It's non-transferable and covers the original purchaser in the US, excluding territories and Canada. You'll need proof of purchase. It covers sagging or indentation over 1.5 inches not caused by a bad foundation. It also covers foam splitting or cracking from a physical flaw and zipper defects in the cover.
Excluded items include normal foam softening, comfort preference, abuse, burns, cuts, tears, liquids and stains. Commercial use is excluded unless you're a trade customer. So are mattresses from unauthorized resellers and used or as-is mattresses.
The remedy is repair or replacement of the mattress or cover, at the company's choice. There's no proration and no cash refund. You can upgrade by paying the price difference, and WKBC pays return shipping. A replacement keeps the original start date, while an upgrade starts a new term. Sheets and protectors carry 1-year warranties. Furniture carries 2 years, or 3 for trade. Claims go to support@custommattressfactory.com or the Conover, NC address. Disputes go to binding arbitration in North Carolina under AAA commercial rules.
Wyoming King Bed Company vs. other brands
Wyoming King Bed Company is a Custom Mattress Factory brand, sister to AlaskanKingBeds.com and CustomMattressFactory.com. It has traded since 2001 out of North Carolina. It shares its Original, Royale and Grand Royale names with its Alaskan King sibling, where the flagship starts around $10,000 versus $7,500 here.
Against Tempur-Pedic, Saatva or Sleep Number, the difference is size and process. A standard king is 76 by 80 inches, so you get 8 inches more width and 4 more in length. It's made to order, direct-only and sold with no trial or returns. A 96 by 96 inch Alberta King or 108 by 108 inch Alaskan King is larger still.
A third-party Amazon listing sells a Triad Majestic 84 by 84 inch natural latex Wyoming King for about $2,700. Such listings don't publish comparable warranty, white-glove delivery or care-plan detail. The brand doesn't publish independent head-to-head testing (checked September 2026).
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
