The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary

Yogasleep is the new name for Yogabed. The brand was Marpac, a sound machine company, until 2020 and bought Yogabed in 2017. It still sells three mattresses, but they are now a side line to its Dohm and Hushh sound machines. Prices run from $649 for a twin to $1,649 for a king or California king. You get a 101-night trial, a 10-year limited warranty and free shipping in the lower 48. All three beds are medium or medium firm, so there is no firm or plush choice. The brand does not publish foam densities, layer thicknesses or coil counts.

Key Strengths
  • Side and back sleepers who like contouring memory foam
  • Couples who want little motion from a partner
  • Shoppers who want a 101-night trial and a 10-year warranty
  • Buyers who can use HSA or FSA money for a mattress
Good to Know
  • Strict stomach sleepers, since outside reviewers found the all-foam bed too soft under the hips
  • Sleepers over 230 to 250 lbs who want a very sturdy edge
  • Shoppers who want a firm, plush, latex or organic-certified bed
  • Anyone who must try a mattress in a store first
Chapter 01

Is Yogasleep the best mattress for you?

Good fit: memory-foam and medium-firm fans; side and back sleepers wanting contouring pressure relief; couples needing motion isolation; hot sleepers drawn to copper and gel cooling claims; shoppers who value a 101-night trial, a 10-year warranty, free shipping and HSA/FSA eligibility; sound-machine owners who already trust the brand.

Poor fit: anyone wanting to try before buying (no showrooms and no US retail mattress listings found); strict stomach sleepers (the all-foam Yogabed tested too soft under the hips at Tuck and Sleepopolis); sleepers over 230-250 lb (Tuck's heavyweight testers sank too deep on the 10 in foam model and found the edges soft); shoppers needing firm or plush options (all three models are medium or medium-firm only); strict-organic buyers (no GOTS, GOLS or OEKO-TEX certification found); spec-checkers (no published foam densities, layer thicknesses or coil counts); buyers wanting a true luxury or latex bed.

Outside review scores
Review sites checked: Sleepopolis, Tuck. Their scores: Sleepopolis 3.8/5 (Yogabed). Model they tested: Not yet researched. Each site tests in its own way, so read each row on its own.

Yogasleep (Marpac until 2020) still sells mattresses, but they are now a side line to its Dohm and Hushh sound machines. Three US-made models remain - Cool Memory Foam $649-$1,149, ThermaCool Gel $749-$1,449, Cool Hybrid $949-$1,649 - with a 101-night trial, 10-year limited warranty and free shipping. The Yogabed name has been dropped from product titles.

Chapter 02

Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you

Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.

Side sleepers: Cool Memory Foam or ThermaCool - Sleepopolis found the medium-firm Yogabed supportive at the hips yet soft enough that shoulders do not jam, though its lightweight side testers wanted softer. Back sleepers: all three, since Sleepopolis rates the medium-firm feel as ideal for neutral spine alignment.

Combination sleepers: Cool Hybrid, because the all-foam Yogabed has very little bounce and testers felt stuck when changing position, even though Tuck rated its motion isolation highly. Couples and restless partners: Cool Hybrid (dynamic edge coils reduce motion transfer) or either foam model (Tuck measured very low motion transfer but only fair edge support).

Hot sleepers: ThermaCool (gel-swirl) or Cool Memory Foam (copper-infused), although Tuck warned the older Yogabed can be a heat trap for some sleepers. Heavier sleepers (230-250 lb and up): the 12 in Cool Hybrid is the safer pick; Tuck's heavyweight testers sank too deep in the 10 in foam and felt the perimeter was not sturdy.

Strict stomach sleepers: Tuck and Sleepopolis both found the all-foam bed too soft under the hips for long stomach sleeping. Kids and guest rooms: Twin and Twin XL sizes plus the $279-$369 Versatile Mattress Foundation.

Which Yogasleep feel fits you?

Weight chart not yet researched

Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Yogasleep publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.

Four alignment checkpoints against a neutral posture line Neck Shoulders Lower back Hips level with spine sink in, no pinch no gap below no sag Straight spine line
  1. Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
  2. Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
  3. Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
  4. Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.

Compare the mattresses

Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.

Yogasleep lists 3 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.

Three mattresses are sold today, each in six sizes (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King).

Cool Memory Foam Mattress (SKU YD2100; $649 Twin to $1,149 King/Cal King; 10 in profile; medium-firm; copper-infused memory foam over contouring foam layers; quilted cooling pillow-top cover with side handles; CertiPUR-US foams; 54-86 lb by size; carries a Made in the USA tag) - the value all-foam pick and the direct descendant of the original Yogabed (the legacy /products/yogabed URL now redirects here).

ThermaCool Gel Memory Foam Mattress (SKU YD2200; $749 to $1,449; 10 in; medium feel; gel-swirl plus copper-infused memory foam layers; CertiPUR-US; 56-90 lb; product created Jan 2024, published Feb 2025) - the softest and most cooling-focused foam option.

Cool Hybrid Mattress (SKU YD2300; $949 to $1,649; 12 in; medium-firm; responsive coils with dynamic edge coils under foam comfort layers; CertiPUR-US; 66-130 lb) - the only coil model, aimed at couples and restless sleepers.

Retired: the original 10 in four-layer Yogabed (Yoga Instant Response Foam comfort layer, YogaGel memory foam, two high-density polyfoam support and base layers; 6.5/10 medium-firm per Tuck and Sleepopolis) and the softer Unplug foam mattress (2 in YogaGel over 8 in polyfoam; no longer listed and its product URL returns 404). Not published: layer thicknesses, foam densities or IFDs, coil count and gauge, and cover fibre content.

Value read: mid-market for a DTC brand and cheaper than the hybrids it is usually compared with (WinkBeds GravityLux, Leesa), but there is no firmness choice, no bundle discount and no published spec sheet, and the third-party $100-off codes (SLEEPOPOLIS, TUCK100) may be expired - confirm at checkout. Sleepopolis's review page still lists the old Yogabed at Twin $599 to King $1,099, which no longer matches the current lineup.

Chapter 05

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.

Brand claims: mattresses can safely support the weight of two adults for the lifetime of the mattress (10 years), use a non-flip construction, and arrive with the break-in period already done by compression. Warranty-backed durability: a visible sag or indentation greater than 1.5 in with no weight applied, or foam that splits or cracks, is covered under the 10-year limited warranty.

Third-party view: Tuck expected roughly six to seven years of life, comparable to the average all-foam mattress, and noted the high-density comfort and support foams may make it more durable than some rivals; Sleepopolis treats a normal increase in softness as expected rather than a defect.

Owner evidence: Reddit owners report an 8-year-old Yogabed still in use (Feb 2024) and a positive 2026 experience, while a 2021 commenter questioned whether quality held after the Marpac buyout. Missing: no published foam densities, no independent lab durability testing found, and no long-term wear data for the 2024-2025 ThermaCool or the hybrid.

Warranty conditions matter: the mattress must be opened within 3 months and the warranty is void if it stays boxed for 4 months or longer, and it must be used on a structurally adequate foundation.

Chapter 06

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees

Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.

Sleep trial: 101 nights from delivery, with a required minimum of 30 nights before you may return, because the brand says a new bed needs an adjustment period. Returns: full refund of the product price (product pages say price and tax), pickup arranged by Yogasleep at no charge, manufacturing tags must remain attached, and no returns or exchanges for stained mattresses or ones with rips, tears or pet hair.

Only one free trial and return is allowed, and returns must be filed through the brand's ticket form or they will not be refunded. State recycling fees (CA, RI, CT and per the FAQ OR) are non-refundable. Exchanges: customer service will help you pick a different model instead of returning, but no exchange fee or exchange window is published.

Bedding accessories: returnable within 30 days in unopened original packaging. Sound machines: 30-day return with a prepaid label. Warning: mattress product pages carry a 30-Night Trial badge and a 1-Year Warranty badge while the same pages' Shipping and Returns block and the help centre both state 101 nights and a 10-year limited warranty - treat the badges as an error and confirm terms by email before buying.

Chapter 07

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal

Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.

Shipping: free ground shipping on mattresses in the contiguous US (site-wide policy is free shipping over $40; Alaska and Hawaii are charged); no PO boxes; FedEx Ground, Monday to Friday, no signature required. Timing: orders process in 5-7 business days and typically arrive within 14 business days, while product pages state 5-7 business days transit.

Packaging: compressed bed-in-a-box, 44 x 16 x 16 in for Twin, Twin XL and Full and 44 x 20 x 20 in for Queen, King and Cal King; unboxing is all that is required because the brand says the mattress practically sets itself up, and no in-home setup is included by default. Delivery changes: tracking is emailed and changes are handled through FedEx Delivery Manager, usually for a small fee. Accessories ship separately from different warehouses.

Old-mattress removal and setup are optional LoadUp add-ons bought at checkout: Remove Old Mattress $120; Remove Old Mattress and Box Spring $150; In-Home Mattress Setup $125; In-Home Mattress and Box Spring Setup $160; In-Home Setup plus Old Mattress and Box Spring Removal $220.

Otherwise the brand recommends donating an old mattress (it suggests donationtown.org) and notes state mattress recycling fees in CA, RI and CT, with the FAQ adding OR, which are non-refundable.

What do the warranties cover?

Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.

Mattresses: Limited Ten-Year Manufacturer Warranty for the original purchaser only (non-transferable, and the buyer must still possess the mattress at claim time), valid when bought from yogasleep.com or an authorized Yogasleep dealer. Covered: defects in materials and workmanship, including a visible indentation or sag greater than 1.5 in measured with no weight on the mattress, and foam that splits or cracks.

Conditions and costs: the mattress must be opened within 3 months and the warranty is void if it stays boxed 4 months or longer; it must be installed and cleaned per instructions and used on a structurally adequate foundation (Queen, King and Cal King need a centre support with 5-6 legs, while Twin, Twin XL and Full need 4 legs); an approved replacement carries a $99 transportation fee and the customer disposes of the original mattress; and a replacement does not restart the warranty period.

Excluded: normal wear and tear, minor cosmetic flaws, tears, stains, burns, discolouration, dampness or mould, body impressions under 1.5 in, quilt-fibre settling, firmness or comfort preferences, allergies and sensitivities, foam odours, normal softening, damage from misuse, unsanitary conditions, improper cleaning or storage, and purchases from unauthorized resellers.

Claims: email hello@yogasleep.com or use the warranty registration page; brand address is 3870 US Hwy 421 N, Wilmington, NC 28401. Accessories: Versatile Mattress Foundation 1 year, bedding 1 year, Yogasleep copper memory foam pillows 1 year, PureCare pillows 3 years, PureCare sheets 1 year, PureCare protectors 10 years. Sound machines: 1-year limited manufacturer warranty in US and international versions.

Chapter 09

Review counts checked on each site · they change daily

Customer reviews and complaints

Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.

On-site reviews: product pages run Bazaarvoice ratings and reviews with SEO markup, but the aggregate star rating and review count load client-side and were not retrievable as of Sept 2026; Sleepopolis reports an average customer rating of 4.6/5 for the Yogabed.

Expert reviews: Sleepopolis scores the Yogabed 3.8/5, praising pressure relief for back and side sleepers, motion isolation and a classic memory-foam feel, and complaining about almost no bounce (poor for sex), combination sleepers feeling stuck, and hips sinking for strict stomach sleepers.

Tuck (review written Oct 2020, page dated 2022) praises motion isolation, pressure relief, silent operation and easy setup, and criticises heat retention for some sleepers, only fair edge support, sinkage for heavyweight testers, and moderate off-gassing that clears in one to three days.

Complaints and gaps found: a June 2025 Reddit owner says the removable THERMOCOOL replacement cover is no longer made; Mattress Clarity's Yogabed review URL now returns HTTP 410 Gone; Sitejabber shows zero reviews for yogasleep.com; BBB pages returned 403 so complaint records could not be checked; the brand's recall page lists only a 2019 GO travel sound machine recall and no mattress recalls.

Nothing found indicating a mattress safety or refund scandal.

Chapter 10

What are the mattresses made of?

Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.

Current models: Cool Memory Foam - copper-infused memory foam over contouring foam layers, quilted cooling pillow-top cover, blue base foam; ThermaCool Gel - gel-swirl foam plus copper-infused memory foam layers; Cool Hybrid - foam comfort layers over responsive coils with dynamic edge coils.

All three use CertiPUR-US certified foams (made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, formaldehyde and regulated phthalates; low VOC emissions under 0.5 ppm).

Legacy Yogabed build, still described in the brand FAQ and 2020-2022 reviews: 10 in, four foam layers - Yoga Instant Response Foam comfort layer, YogaGel memory foam, and two high-density polyfoam support and base layers, non-flip construction, air ventilation channels punched through every 2 inches, removable THERMOCOOL cotton and polyester cover that also helps resist dust mites.

Manufacturing: the brand FAQ states mattresses are manufactured in the USA, and the Cool Memory Foam page carries a Made in the USA tag while the other two models do not. Not published as of Sept 2026: individual layer thicknesses, foam densities or IFDs, coil count and gauge, exact cover fibre content, and any GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX or similar textile certification.

Chapter 11

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?

Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

Official: buy only at yogasleep.com - the brand's own FAQ says mattresses and bedding accessories are currently available for purchase exclusively through its website.

No showrooms and no mattress listings found at Amazon, Target, Walmart, Costco or Wayfair as of Sept 2026 (Amazon returns no marketplace listings and instead shows Shop direct cards sold by yogasleep.com; Target's yogasleep search returns 0 items; Costco and Big Lots searches return no results; Wayfair, Home Depot, Lowe's and Macy's blocked automated checks). Sound machines, by contrast, are widely retailed at Amazon, Target, Walmart and others.

Try-before-you-buy happens only at home under the 101-night trial, supported by the online Compare Mattresses page and Mattress Quiz. International distribution listed on the brand's International page: The Sleep Store (Australia and New Zealand), JBC Distribution (United Arab Emirates), TR Products (Finland) and Quirks Marketing (Philippines); an Amazon Canada Yogasleep storefront exists for the brand's products.

The Find Us In Stores page exists but its retailer list loads dynamically and could not be read.

Chapter 12

Yogasleep vs. other mattress brands

Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.

Positioning: Yogasleep is a sound-machine company first - Marpac, founded 1962 with the original Dohm sound conditioner - that bought DTC mattress startup Yogabed in Dec 2017 (announced Jan 16, 2018) and rebranded from Marpac to Yogasleep on Feb 24, 2020.

Today it sells three mattresses DTC only, versus full-line brands (Saatva, Tempur-Sealy, Sleep Number) with showrooms, firmness options and published specs, and versus big DTC players (Casper, Leesa, Tuft & Needle) with broader model ranges and retail distribution.

Head-to-head findings: versus Leesa Original, Sleepopolis calls Leesa firmer (7/10) and better for back sleepers, bounce and cooling, while the Yogabed is softer for side sleepers with low motion transfer, offers a 101-night trial versus Leesa's 100, and rates Yogasleep customer service Satisfactory versus Leesa's Stellar.

Tuck rated Tuft & Needle Mint and Leesa slightly higher for durability, pressure relief and temperature neutrality; Casper Original higher for motion isolation and temperature but lower for off-gassing; and WinkBeds GravityLux higher across the board but far pricier; the discontinued Unplug was softer (5/10) and cheaper.

Yogasleep's edge is price, a 10-year warranty, the 101-night trial, free shipping, HSA/FSA eligibility and genuine sleep heritage; its weakness is a tiny, spec-light mattress line with no firmness choice, no US retail presence, and consumer conversation that has moved almost entirely to its sound machines.

More brand reviews to compare: Yaasa, YachtBedding, Yankee Mattress, Zeno Mattress, Zinus, Zoma Sleep.

Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13

How we research and report

This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Yogasleep. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.

Nappedia's standard process, run 25 Sept 2026: (1) official site first - yogabed.com (301-redirects to yogasleep.com), the mattress collection and all three product pages, product JSON for prices, weights and SKUs, refund, shipping and warranty policies, the Zendesk help centre (155 articles) for trial, warranty, dimension, weight-limit, foundation and delivery answers, sitemaps, agents.md and the brand's newsroom and history pages; (2) retailer checks - Amazon, Target, Walmart, Costco, Wayfair, Sam's Club, Home Depot, Lowe's, Macy's, Big Lots and the brand's own International and Find Us In Stores pages; (3) third-party and owner evidence - Sleepopolis (review, comparison and coupon pages), Tuck, Mattress Clarity (now 410 Gone), Sitejabber, BBB (403), Reddit via the PullPush archive, and Wayback CDX metadata for the yogabed.com domain history.

Rules applied: nothing invented; every price, dimension and policy term is traced to the pages above; anything unverifiable is labelled Not published as of Sept 2026; and where the brand's own pages conflict (30-night versus 101-night trial, 1-year versus 10-year warranty, recycling-fee states) both versions are reported.

Note: on-site review counts, layer thicknesses, foam densities and coil counts could not be obtained and are flagged as gaps rather than estimated.

What does the warranty cover?

A 10-year limited warranty covers defects, sags deeper than 1.5 inches and foam that splits or cracks. A replacement costs a $99 transportation fee.

Can I try one in a store?

No - the brand's FAQ says mattresses are sold exclusively through its website and no US retailer mattress listings were found, so you decide at home under the 101-night trial with a 30-night minimum.

Is the Yogabed mattress still sold in 2026?

Yes - yogabed.com now redirects to yogasleep.com and three mattresses are in stock, but the Yogabed name has been dropped from product titles and the legacy /products/yogabed URL redirects to the Cool Memory Foam Mattress.

Has the brand pivoted to sound machines only?

No, but almost - sound machines (Dohm, Hushh, Nod, Duet, Vue baby monitor) dominate the catalogue, marketing, retail presence and recent consumer discussion, while mattresses are a three-model side line sold only on yogasleep.com.

How much do they cost and what sizes?

Twin to Cal King, $649-$1,649 as of Sept 2026, free contiguous-US shipping, HSA/FSA eligible, and no mattress discounts live.

What are the trial and warranty really?

101 nights and a 10-year limited warranty (sag over 1.5 in covered, $99 transportation fee on replacements) - ignore the 30-Night Trial and 1-Year Warranty badges on the product pages.
