Tiami Mattress Review

Tiami is a US design-led luxury hybrid brand founded by the Leesa Sleep co-founding team. It sells one 12-inch model, priced from $1,995 to $3,495. You get a 100-night trial, a 10-year limited warranty and free US shipping. It's best if you sleep hot or share a bed and want cooling and motion control. The catches are a single firmness, a thin review history and premium pricing. You can try it in person at Design Within Reach studios.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Side sleepers get shoulder and hip cushioning, plus spinal lift from the coils and Energex contouring, per the brand. Back sleepers get zoned coil lift and targeted pressure relief for lumbar alignment. The brand says the resilient support suits most positions. But it doesn't publish stomach-specific guidance or higher-weight guidance (checked September 2026).

If you sleep hot, the fit comes from the breathable cotton cover, open-cell foam and coil airflow. Couples get the claim that motion stays on their side. The feel is described as firm but not too soft, with softness plus resilient support. No numeric firmness scale is published. Use the 100-night trial to judge fit.

Mattress prices and value

Prices are Twin XL $1,995, Full $2,495, Queen $2,995, King $3,495 and Cal King $3,495. We saw a promo of 30% off Queen at $2,096.50, a saving of $898.50. Affirm financing is advertised. The product page says 24 months interest-free from $82 a month for qualified buyers. The FAQ says you can pay over 3, 6 or 12 months. It's HSA and FSA eligible via the Flex card. Add-ons are the Simplicity HFMS 2.0 base at +$1,395.00 (sale +$976.50) and a spruce-slat foundation at +$545.00 (sale +$381.50).

This is premium direct-to-consumer luxury pricing, near $2,000 to $3,500. That's above mainstream bed-in-a-box but below $5,000-plus ultra-luxury. The value case rests on US handcrafting, the organic cotton cover, the Energex latex-alternative layer and the Leggett and Platt lab-test story. It doesn't rest on trial length or model choice. We found no price-match policy (September 2026). Promos rotate, so confirm the street price when you buy.

What are the mattresses made of?

The brand lists five layers. First is a 90%+ organic cotton cover that's soft, breathable and moisture-wicking. Second is an Energex comfort layer for contouring pushback and heat-responsive cooling. Third is a high-density memory foam recovery layer for aches. Fourth is a double-pocketed coil support core, claimed to give 7x more airflow than all-foam. Fifth is advanced edge support with 10-inch perimeter coils to widen the sleep surface. Tech names include T-Edge Support and Zoned Coil Base. The flat-top build keeps comfort inside rather than a sewn-on Euro top.

The brand claims CertiPUR-US certified foams and OEKO-TEX certified fabric. Certification IDs and PDFs aren't published. The brand doesn't publish foam densities, ILDs, coil counts or gauges, or fire barrier details (checked September 2026). It doesn't claim latex content.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The evidence is brand-reported, plus one independent lab program. Leggett and Platt Labs ran ASTM F1566 Hexagonal Roller and Cornell testing to 100,000 cycles. It reported 0.02 in total height loss and a minus 12.55% firmness change. Firmness and height fully recovered within 24 hours, and edge-to-edge stability was confirmed. It was summarized as zero body impressions. The 10-year limited warranty backs sag over 0.75 in.

We found no other independent durability disassembly tests, such as RTINGS-style ones (September 2026). Owner longevity data isn't collected. The review pool is only 15 verified brand-site reviews. The brand says to rotate every 3 to 6 months. It enforces a foundation spec for warranty.

Customer reviews and complaints

The brand site shows 5.0 out of 5 from 15 verified reviews on the product page. Quoted buyers mention back-pain relief and motion isolation. It's a small sample, so read it with care. We found no aggregated scores from Google, BBB, Sleep Foundation, RTINGS, NapLab, Sleepopolis or Trustpilot (September 2026).

The brand claims press recognition, including Architectural Digest Top Design Pick 2025 and 2026. Its press page lists editor picks and launch features. We didn't verify the full review text. We found no verified complaint themes given the thin pool. Watch for firmness mismatch (single feel), promo-price confusion and delivery scheduling.

Where can you try and buy?

You can buy direct at tiami.com. You can also call +1 (757) 379-8381, where the brand says a founder answers. The exclusive retail partner is Design Within Reach. You can try the bed at participating DWR studios and buy there or direct. Studio addresses and live availability are on the tiami.com store locator and at DWR. We found no other dealer network.

The founders are David Wolfe (Co-Founder and CEO, formerly Leesa CEO) and Tricia Leone (Co-Founder and CMO). Jamie Diamonstein is Co-Founder and CPO, with 40-plus years designing luxury mattresses. Amanda Hitchcock is Co-Founder and Creative Director. It's handcrafted in the USA, per the brand. The plant address isn't published. A portion of every purchase goes to sleep-equity programs supporting women's mental health.

Delivery, setup and removal

Shipping is free on all US orders, per the FAQ. The mattress ships compressed in a carton to your doorstep. It's ready within hours after you unbox and unroll it. You can add paid third-party in-home setup and old-mattress removal through Dolly for $299.00 (sale $209.30). Dolly contacts you to schedule.

A spruce-slat foundation and an adjustable base are optional at checkout. Compatible bases are a solid platform, an adjustable base, or a slatted frame with gaps of 3 in or less. Motion bases need middle bracing, per the warranty. The brand doesn't publish made-to-order lead times or delivery speed (checked September 2026). Confirm at checkout.

Sleep trial and returns

The product and FAQ pages state a 100-night risk-free trial. You must keep it at least 30 nights before a return. The send-back window is nights 31 to 100. It's limited to one return per household. Returns are free and typically involve a donation or a pickup service. The mattress must be tidy and undamaged. The brand promises full reimbursement if you're not satisfied within the window.

Foundations, frames and bedding can be returned within 30 days. Adjustable bases can't be returned once opened. We found no restocking-fee schedule. The brand doesn't publish exchange terms beyond return and refund (checked September 2026).

Warranty

The 10-Year Limited Warranty is repair or replace, at the brand's option. It covers visible sagging or indentations over 0.75 in. It covers physical flaws that cause foam to split or crack. It also covers manufacturing defects in the cover zipper. It applies to the original purchaser buying from tiami.com or approved sellers. It's not transferable.

It excludes comfort preference and firmness shifts, cuts, burns, stains, the wrong base, as-is or pre-owned units, odors and gradual softening. You need a sturdy deck: a flat platform, wood slats or a motion base with middle bracing. You'll need your law label and receipt. File a claim by email with the purchase ID, receipt, flaw photos and an explanation. The brand doesn't fully publish transport responsibility or turnaround (checked September 2026).

Tiami vs. other brands

Against Leesa, the founders' prior brand, Tiami sits above it. It's a single-model luxury successor with lab-test proof and Design Within Reach distribution, at roughly double the price. Leesa offers more models and a larger review pool. Against Casper, Helix, Purple and Nectar hybrids, Tiami competes on design story, the organic cotton cover and published lab numbers. It trails on model choice, firmness options and third-party test visibility.

Against luxury lines such as Stearns and Foster Lux, Beautyrest Black and Kluft, Tiami undercuts ultra-luxury pricing. But it lacks their heritage lines and premium delivery service. Against organic leaders such as Avocado, Naturepedic and Savvy Rest, Tiami trails on GOTS and GOLS certification depth.
