Palmpring Mattress Review

Palmpring is a coconut-coir specialty brand founded in South Korea in 1996 and now based in Los Angeles. Its seven spring-free organic mattresses pair rubberized coir cores with organic latex, wool and cotton. It's best if you're an eco-minded shopper who wants firm, breathable, chemical-free support. You'll pay premium prices. Delivery is by freight, and returns are exchange-only. If you want a plush pillow top or a free home trial, look elsewhere.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Side sleepers and lighter builds who want softness should look at the Agra, or the plush side of the Puri. The Colva's balanced side comes next. Back sleepers who want alignment can look at the Colva, Bally or Kochi. Stomach sleepers and anyone who wants maximum firmness should look at the Cambay, or the coir side of the Ellora.

If you sleep hot, any coir model helps. The Cambay, Ellora and Kochi are positioned as the coolest and driest. Couples should know that every model is spring-free latex or coir with no published motion-isolation data, so test in person. If you have chemical sensitivities or allergies, all models use organic latex, rubberized coir, wool and cotton. Wool is the natural fire barrier. You'll also see OEKO-TEX and GOTS or GOLS certifications.

For a low profile or bunk, pick the Kochi 6-inch. The Agra is explicitly designed for adjustable bases.

Mattress prices and value

These are queen reference prices from the official site, in USD, before the 10-percent WELCOME10 code. Cambay is $2,599 (6-inch) or $2,799 (8-inch). Kochi 6-inch is $2,699. Agra 8-inch is $2,799. Ellora is $3,299 (8-inch) or $3,799 (10-inch). Bally 8-inch is $3,399. Colva 10-inch is $3,899. Puri 10-inch is $3,999. The full line spans $1,799 (Cambay twin 6-inch) to $4,999 (Puri Cal King).

This is premium organic pricing, comparable to high-end latex brands. Certified materials and made-to-order builds justify it. But $199 freight shipping, no free trial and a 25-percent restocking fee on exchanges offset that. Add $200-plus in delivery costs to the true price.

What are the mattresses made of?

The signature build is an alternating latex-plus-coir sandwich that replaces metal springs. Dunlop organic latex (ILD 26) gives cushioning. Rubberized coconut coir (ILD 41) gives breathable firm support. The coir comes from coconut husks processed with water only, then woven, flattened and coated in organic latex. The quilted cover is organic wool and cotton, and you can't remove it. Wool is the natural fire barrier. There are no chemical flame retardants, polyfoam or springs. The Agra is the exception, as an all-latex bed.

The official certifications page lists Control Union GOLS (latex and rubberized coir) and GOTS (wool and cotton). It also lists Control Union Organic Production and USDA-NOP, NPOP NOP for latex, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (latex, wool and cotton). Other listings are ECO Institut, LGA Germany and ISO9001, plus lab-tested germ-resistance and far-infrared claims.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The durability evidence comes from the maker. Double-sided, flippable designs (all models except the single-layer Agra) are meant to be flipped and rotated for even wear. Thicker coir cores on the 10-inch Ellora, Colva and Puri are positioned as more durable. The brand describes rubberized coir as resilient, water-repelling and germ-resistant, with brand-published breathability and elasticity lab tests. The warranty terms imply a 10-year service life.

The brand doesn't publish independent long-term durability testing or owner-reported lifespan data (checked September 2026).

Customer reviews and complaints

The official testimonials page shows only positive written reviews, with no star ratings. They cover uninterrupted sleep, no spring noise, less morning stiffness and back and shoulder pain, and fewer allergy symptoms. There are also endorsements from a chiropractor and a Ph.D.

The brand doesn't publish third-party ratings on BBB, Google, Yelp or major review sites, or any star-aggregate scores (checked September 2026). We found no complaints on the official site. The main friction comes from policy, not reviews. You get no home trial and exchange-only returns with a 25-percent restocking fee. Custom orders are final sale, and freight shipping costs $199.

Where can you try and buy?

You can buy direct at palmpringusa.com, which sells all seven adult models plus kids and crib mattresses, toppers, pillows, foundations and bedding. Try one in person at the Palmpring Factory and Showroom, 5334 E. Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90040. It's open by appointment, at 855-762-8800.

Published dealers are Plank and Coil in Lake Oswego, OR and NW Portland, OR. Others are Essential Sleep Boutique in San Francisco, CA, Organic Living/EcoClean in Phoenix, AZ and TKWORLD in Honolulu, HI. You'll also find Relief-Mart in Agoura Hills, CA, Sleep Experience in Little Elm, TX, HUIT in Laguna Beach, CA and Casa Palacio in Mexico City. The brand doesn't publish availability on Amazon, Wayfair, Costco or other marketplaces.

Delivery, setup and removal

Delivery is curbside LTL freight for $199. You need an appointment and a signature. It typically takes 5 to 10 business days, and the carrier schedules directly with you. Mattresses are made to order, so timing may vary. White-glove in-home setup is available on request for an extra quoted fee.

Inspect the packaging at delivery and note any damage on the receipt. The brand doesn't publish old-mattress removal (checked September 2026).

Sleep trial and returns

The brand doesn't publish a home sleep trial. There's no night-trial or money-back return policy on the site. Returns are exchange-only. You can exchange any unused, unopened product within 30 days of purchase with your receipt. Mattress exchanges carry a 25-percent restocking fee. Custom orders can't be exchanged and are final sale.

Pillow returns are refused for non-defective items for health reasons. You pay all transportation costs and taxes on warranty and exchange shipments.

Warranty

You get a 10-year limited mattress warranty covering manufacturer defects. Organic latex pillows and yoga mats get a 2-year limited warranty. It covers rapid deterioration such as splitting or cracking, not gradual softening. Body impressions up to 1.5 inches count as normal, not defects.

You need a rigid non-spring or slatted foundation, with slats no more than 3 inches apart. You may need to show proof, and an unsuitable foundation voids coverage. It excludes physical abuse, misuse, negligence and normal wear. Unsanitary mattresses can be refused service. Only the original purchaser is covered, with proof of purchase. Floor models are sold as is. The brand may use substitute materials of equal quality in repairs. You pay transport and taxes.

Palmpring vs. other brands

Avocado, PlushBeds, Naturepedic, Birch and Savvy Rest are mainstream organic-latex brands. Palmpring's difference is rubberized coconut-coir support cores instead of springs or all-latex stacks. Most models are also double-sided and flippable, which is rare in the US market.

The trade-offs matter. Palmpring offers no sleep trial, while rivals typically offer 100-plus nights with free returns. It charges $199 freight, where shipping is often free elsewhere. It publishes no third-party review aggregates. It skews firmer, with only the Agra and one side of the Puri in plush territory. Price-wise it sits in the premium organic tier. If you want trial flexibility or soft pillow-top feels, compare Avocado or PlushBeds. If you want a spring-free coir build, you'll find few direct US alternatives.
