Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Back and stomach sleepers should pick the very firm tier. That means the Green or Organic Cotton & Wool Boulder Dreamton, Evergreen Foam, wool Boulder or Everfirm. The brand rates these 10 to 11 on its 1 to 11 firmness scale. Side sleepers and plush lovers should look at the Natural Latex Mattress, alone or with a latex or wool topper (rated 1 to 3). The medium-firm latex-core Dreamtons (4 to 6) also work. Combination sleepers get a middle ground in the semi-firm cotton and foam-core Dreamtons (7 to 9), the brand's bestsellers.
Every model is spring-free with zero motion transfer, so couples do well. Latex or foam cores slow the compaction you'd see in plain cotton, which helps heavier sleepers, per the brand FAQ. Allergy and chemical-sensitivity households get no chemical flame retardants, GOTS organic options and latex that resists mold and dust mites. Vegan sleepers need a physician's prescription. Kids can use the crib and toddler mattresses. The 3 to 5-inch Everfirm and custom sizes suit platform, slatted and floor beds.
Mattress prices and value
These are starting prices in twin, and they rise with size and thickness. Green Cotton Mattress $679. Green Cotton & Wool Dreamton $848. Foam Core Dreamton $978. Boulder Dreamton $979. Latex Core Dreamton $1,324. Natural Latex Mattress $1,416. Organic Cotton Mattress $1,737 and Organic Cotton & Foam $1,842, both by prescription. Organic Cotton & Wool Dreamton $1,963. Pure Cotton & Wool Foam Dreamton $2,068. Organic Boulder Dreamton $2,097. Pure Cotton & Wool Latex Dreamton $2,415. Firm Wool Mattress $2,143. Organic Wool FIRM $2,976. Evergreen Foam $936.
Toppers start around $283. A rush fee of 25% of the item, up to $160, halves production time. Samples are credited toward a later purchase, and product Q&A mentions a $100 sample credit. You can pay with Klarna, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo or card.
It's premium versus mainstream cotton futons but mid-market versus high-end organic rivals. Discounts mostly come through the retailer Futonland (5% code LOTUS5), not the brand's site.
What are the mattresses made of?
These mattresses are hand-layered, quilt-like and spring-free. The core is cotton batting. On Organic lines it's GOTS-certified organic cotton. The Green Cotton is US-grown, slightly firmer and not certified organic, per the brand. Boulder models add about 15% more cotton plus double tufting. Dreamton, wool and organic wool models use a pure virgin wool wrap. That's the natural flame barrier. Vegan models omit wool and any chemical retardant, and the law requires a doctor's prescription. A product Q&A mentions a boric-acid flame-retardant option.
Optional cores include 3-inch natural Dunlop latex or 2-inch Evergreen foam, or a full 6-inch Evergreen foam core. Evergreen foam uses soy, castor and other vegetable oils, rated 35 ILD and 1.8 lb density. The brand says it's free of flame retardants, parabens and formaldehyde. It links a 2015 manufacturer letter we couldn't read as text. We found no CertiPUR-US, GREENGUARD or UL claim. Covers are 100% cotton twill or GOTS organic cotton twill, with about 1.5 inches of wool as a layer on some models.
The current GOTS scope certificate is SC-027187-0, issued 2026-06-12 by Oregon Tilth to Panditos LLC DBA White Lotus Home, License GOTS-10229, valid to 2027-06-11. It covers organic cotton and cotton-wool Dreamton and Boulder Dreamton mattresses and futons, EverFirm, wool toppers and pillows. A scope certificate alone doesn't prove each shipment is certified. The eco-INSTITUT certificate 0921-12256-001 covers 100% natural latex foam from Latex Green Pvt Ltd, Sri Lanka, valid to 10/2027, foam only. We found no GOLS, OEKO-TEX or Made Safe certificate. The brand doesn't fully publish layer thicknesses, adhesive details or stack diagrams (checked September 2026).
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The brand's life-expectancy chart lists 10+ years for the Cotton Dreamton, Boulder Dreamton, Latex-Core Dreamton, Evergreen Foam-Core Dreamton and Evergreen Foam Mattress. All-latex is listed at 15+ years. The GOTS mattress page says they normally last 7 to 10 years. The warranty page cites a typical 10 to 12 years. The brand says slow cotton compression is normal and isn't a defect. Latex or foam cores slow it down.
You'll need to care for it. Flip about every 3 months on slatted surfaces and monthly on solid ones. Rotate it, air the fibers, use a protector and spot clean only. Keep slats no more than 2 to 2.5 inches apart. Skipping care can void the warranty. We found no independent sag testing. One reviewer reports a 6-year-old Green Cotton mattress still going strong, and the brand cites a 30-year-old one. Those are anecdotes, and they aren't tested data.
Customer reviews and complaints
eKomi is the brand's review platform. Its public profile shows 4.9 out of 5 and a Gold Seal from 1,440 reviews (the homepage widget says 1,435). The score uses 111 reviews from the last 12 months, with 95.76% positive, 2.57% neutral and 1.67% negative as of September 2026. On-site ratings include Green Cotton & Wool Dreamton 5.0 from 44 reviews, Organic Cotton & Wool Dreamton 5 from 12, Latex Core Dreamton 5 from 11, Natural Latex 4.7 from 7, and Evergreen Foam 5 from 3. Green Cotton has 5 from 3. Green Cotton Foam Core, Organic Cotton & Wool Boulder and Organic Cotton have 5 from 1 each. Organic Cotton & Foam has none.
Reviewers praise the lack of chemical smell, a firm supportive feel, back and hip pain relief, fast delivery and personal service. One Natural Latex reviewer noticed a slight smell at first and had trouble fitting the futon cover. A Green Cotton buyer found it very firm at first. The 1.67% negative share has no public text. The FAQ claims a 99% satisfaction rate, which the brand reports itself.
The Trustpilot profile has zero reviews. The SiteJabber page shows 0 reviews. A Yelp listing is linked from the footer, but we couldn't find its rating. We found no BBB profile, Google rating or Reddit complaint threads as of September 2026.
Where can you try and buy?
You can buy at whitelotushome.com or call 732-828-2111. The New Brunswick, NJ showroom and 10,000-square-foot workshop is at 745 Joyce Kilmer Avenue Ste E. It's open Monday to Friday. The FAQ lists 9 AM to 4 PM, and elsewhere it's 9 AM to 5 PM. Ask for an appointment at least 24 hours ahead. You can watch handcrafting from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Partner stores include Futonland Upper West Side (730 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY) and Futonland Greenpoint (255 Calyer Street, Brooklyn, NY). Hardwood Artisans has two stores (21405 Business Court, Elkwood, VA and 2800 S Randolph Street, Arlington, VA). You'll also find Natural Mattress Store (3198 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT) and Rawganique (429 Peace Portal Drive, Blaine, WA). The About page says goods sell through over 20 retail stores. An older FAQ line says up to 100.
You can order mattress and fiber samples, and the cost is credited to a later purchase. House calls within 200 miles of New Brunswick cost $55 per hour with a 1-hour minimum. Repair availability in South Florida is limited.
Delivery, setup and removal
Shipping is free in the contiguous US. Mattresses ship rolled and vacuum-sealed by FedEx or UPS, usually 2 to 5 business days in transit after production. Stock items ship in 48 hours. Handmade mattresses take 1 to 4 weeks on product pages, though the FAQ says 3 to 5 weeks. A rush fee of 25% of the item, up to $160, roughly halves production time.
Free White Glove delivery covers qualifying orders within about 150 miles of New Brunswick. That's generally New Jersey, New York City, most of Long Island, the Hudson Valley, parts of Connecticut and eastern Pennsylvania. Some FAQ text says 200 miles for large orders. The crew unrolls the mattress, places it on your frame, removes packaging and assembles furniture. Windows are 2 hours, with a call 30 minutes ahead and at least 3 days notice. Old-mattress removal costs $55 extra there. The crew moves it to the curb, garage or another room, and it doesn't leave in the van. The van doesn't haul old mattresses away, for sanitary reasons.
Larger orders may ship freight. International buyers get a credit for the US shipping cost and pay the difference plus duties, taxes and brokerage. Hawaii and Alaska are outside the free-shipping and trial areas.
Sleep trial and returns
The 100-Night Mattress Guarantee covers the contiguous US only. You must try the mattress at least 30 nights and keep it covered with a protector. Keep it free of stains and damage, buy direct, and use the guarantee once per order. You can return it for 100% store credit valid 12 months or a 70% refund of what you paid. Refunds go back to your original payment method in about 14 business days.
Removal is free within 200 miles of New Brunswick. Farther out, the company either picks it up or asks you to document legal disposal. Don't dispose of it before approval, because that's a rule. Unused bedding can be exchanged within 30 days for credit or a refund minus a 30% restocking fee. Equal or higher-value items waive the fee. You can cancel without penalty within 1 day of ordering. Later cancellations cost a 30% restocking fee. Custom items are final sale, and fibers and fabrics can't be returned.
Warranty
You get a limited warranty for the reasonable life of the product, based on materials, design and proper care. The brand cites a typical 10 to 12-year life. It covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal home use. Only the original purchaser is covered, and you can't transfer it. It excludes normal wear, including natural fiber compression and firmness changes. It also excludes misuse, moisture damage, comfort preference changes, accidents, alteration, commercial use, and unauthorized resellers or secondhand buys.
The brand picks the fix: repair, a comparable replacement, or a refund if neither is possible. A fee may apply after heavy use or misuse. Claims need the original receipt and clear photos or video showing the defect plus the label and law tag with covers removed. Get approval before shipping. You pack and insure the return. The brand reimburses reasonable return shipping within 20 days of receipt if it confirms a defect. Skipping flipping, rotating or a protector can void coverage. Frames carry their own warranties, and they aren't covered here. A separate 100-day comfort guarantee handles dissatisfaction.
White Lotus Home vs. other brands
Against mainstream spring and memory-foam brands, White Lotus Home is spring-free. It has no chemical flame retardants or memory foam and uses US hand construction. Prices run from $679 for cotton to $2,976 for organic wool. You give up wide retail distribution, fast fulfillment and long fixed warranty terms.
Savvy Rest, Naturepedic, My Green Mattress, Sleep on Latex, Avocado, Holy Lamb Organics and Obasan are the natural rivals. White Lotus Home offers 1981 heritage, a current Oregon Tilth GOTS certificate (SC-027187-0) and custom sizes. You can pick 6, 7 or 8-inch thickness. It doesn't use polyurethane in its plant-oil foam option, and it has a prescription vegan line. The starting price is lower than many organic rivals.
The trade-offs are few showrooms outside New Jersey, 1 to 4-week lead times and cotton compression that can read as sagging. Returns pay 70% or store credit. Free white-glove delivery is only near New Jersey, and the warranty is life-of-product, not a fixed 10 to 25 years. We didn't re-check rival terms, so treat them as general context.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy
Are White Lotus Home mattresses certified organic?
The organic cotton and cotton-wool Dreamton line is made under GOTS scope certificate SC-027187-0 from Oregon Tilth, issued June 12, 2026 and valid to June 11, 2027. Green Cotton, latex and Evergreen foam products aren't GOTS-covered. The Sri Lankan latex carries eco-INSTITUT certificate 0921-12256-001, valid to 10/2027.
Why do some models need a prescription?
Vegan models leave out wool, the natural flame retardant, and add no chemical retardant. US rules then require a licensed physician's prescription. You email, fax or mail it before handcrafting starts.
Do the mattresses have springs or memory foam?
There are no springs or metals, and motion transfer is zero. Cores are natural Dunlop latex or Evergreen plant-oil foam. Wool serves as the flame barrier.
What is the trial and return deal?
You get 100 nights in the contiguous US after at least 30 nights of use. Use a protector and avoid stains. You can return it for 100% store credit (12 months) or a 70% refund. Hawaii, Alaska and international orders are excluded.
How fast will it arrive?
Stock ships in 48 hours. Handmade orders take 1 to 4 weeks, though the FAQ says 3 to 5 weeks. A 25% rush fee, up to $160, halves the wait. US shipping is free. White-glove delivery is free within about 150 miles of New Brunswick, NJ, with $55 old-mattress removal.
Can I try one before buying?
Yes. Visit the New Jersey showroom by appointment or a partner store in New York, Virginia, Vermont or Washington. You can also order a sample, and its cost is credited toward your purchase.
