The 30-Second Verdict: Quick Summary

Williams Co is a women-owned, third-generation Colorado maker of organic and hybrid mattresses. Prices run from $2,099 to $8,299. Every bed has a zippable cover, a dual-core firmness option and a 10-year non-prorated warranty. You get unusually complete layer specs, replaceable comfort layers and free standard shipping. The catch is the safety net. The brand doesn't publish a refund window, you'll find almost no third-party reviews, and showrooms are few. It's a good pick if you value transparency over a standard risk-free trial.

Chapter 01

Is Williams Co Mattress the best mattress for you?

Good fit for sleepers who want a genuinely transparent, made-in-Colorado organic or hybrid bed with published layer-by-layer specs, who value being able to change firmness later by swapping a plush or firm coil unit (free within year one), who want a dual-core option for two different firmness preferences, and who are comfortable buying online direct or through a small dealer network.

Poor fit for shoppers who need a conventional risk-free trial with a refund: Williams Co publishes a 30-night try period and a one-year coil exchange guarantee but no money-back window, no return-shipping terms and no published return fees.

Also a poor fit for anyone who needs hundreds of verified third-party reviews, Amazon or big-box availability, published financing, a store to lie on in most cities, or same-week delivery, since beds are made to order and arrive in roughly two weeks.

Williams Co is a women-owned, third-generation Colorado maker of organic and hybrid mattresses sold mainly direct, priced $2,099-$8,299, all with zippable covers, dual-core firmness options and 10-year non-prorated warranties. Strengths: unusually complete published layer specs, replaceable comfort layers, free standard shipping. Caveats: no published refund window, no third-party reviews, few showrooms.

Chapter 02

Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you

Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.

The brand's own FAQ is the most specific guidance published. For the Organic Collection, Williams Co recommends the gentle option for side and back sleepers, states the construction supports all weights, and says stomach sleepers can use either with gentle giving a bit more give for a slightly plusher feel.

For the Hybrid line, the brand says firm or plush suits all sleep styles, with plush often preferred by side sleepers who want a plush, cloud-like feel. Firmness is effectively personalization rather than separate models: nearly every mattress is offered in Firm, Plush, or a Dual Firm build in Firm/Firm, Firm/Plush or Plush/Plush, and the St.

James adds Split Head versions of the same three pairings, which makes couples with different firmness preferences the clearest use case.

Hot sleepers are addressed through cover and comfort materials rather than cooling gel: the brand claims wool is the most cooling natural fiber available in the sleep market today, left untreated with no bleaches or dyes so lanolin stays intact to regulate temperature and wick sweat, paired with breathable organic cotton houndstooth or natural bamboo covers.

Adjustable base owners are covered because every mattress model is marked compatible with an adjustable base. Budget shoppers are pointed at the Kingston at $2,099-$3,399, while the Aspen at $6,299-$8,299 is the top-of-the-line bed for shoppers wanting the most layers and reinforced edge support.

Precision sleep-position matching beyond the gentle/plush versus firm guidance is not published, firmness is never expressed on a numeric scale, and there is no published weight-capacity or BMI guidance, so heavier sleepers and strict stomach sleepers have less to go on than at brands that publish ILD or firmness scales.

Which Williams Co Mattress feel fits you?

Weight chart not yet researched

Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Williams Co Mattress publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.

Four alignment checkpoints against a neutral posture line Neck Shoulders Lower back Hips level with spine sink in, no pinch no gap below no sag Straight spine line
  1. Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
  2. Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
  3. Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
  4. Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.

The catalog pairs legacy and 2.0 versions of the same names (York, York 2.0, Oxford, Oxford 2.0, Bristol, Bristol 2.0) at identical prices, so 2.0 versions read as current revisions rather than different tiers. No predecessor generation is published for the Aspen, Kingston or Telluride.

Mattress prices and value

Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.

Published price range runs from $2,099 for a Twin Kingston to $8,299 for a King or Cal King Aspen, so the brand straddles premium and luxury rather than budget. Per-size prices read from the product pages: Kingston Twin $2,099, Twin XL $2,299, Full $2,399, Queen $2,799, King and Cal King $3,399. Montreat Twin $2,299 to King and Cal King $3,599.

Hyde Twin $3,299, Twin XL $3,399, Full $3,799, Queen $4,199, King and Cal King $5,099. Hartford and York 2.0 both Twin $3,799, Twin XL $3,899, Full $4,299, Queen $4,699, King and Cal King $5,599. York Twin $3,799 to Queen $4,499-$4,699, King $5,399-$5,599, Split Cal King $3,899.

St. James Twin $4,099, Twin XL $4,199, Full $4,599, Queen $5,199-$5,599, King $6,099-$6,499. Oxford and Oxford 2.0 Twin $4,199, Twin XL $4,299, Full $4,699, Queen $5,299, King $5,999-$6,199, Cal King $6,199, Split Cal King $4,299.

St. Augustine Twin $4,199 to King and Cal King $6,199, Queen $5,299. Charleston Twin $4,899, Twin XL $4,999, Full $5,399, Queen $5,999, King and Cal King $6,899.

Bristol and Bristol 2.0 Twin $4,999, Twin XL $5,099, Full $5,499, Queen $5,899-$6,099, King $6,799-$6,999, Split Cal King $5,099. Regent Twin $4,999, Twin XL $5,099, Full $5,499, Queen $6,099, King and Cal King $6,999. Durango Twin $5,199 to King and Cal King $6,999, Queen $6,099.

Telluride Twin $5,599 to King and Cal King $7,599, Queen $6,699. Aspen Twin $6,299, Twin XL $6,399, Full $6,799, Queen $6,799-$7,399, King $7,399-$8,299, Cal King $8,299, with dual-firm variants priced above the single-firmness builds.

Value notes: standard shipping to the door or a business dock is included free, everything is made to order in Colorado, comfort-layer and coil replacement parts are sold separately so a bed can be refurbished rather than replaced, and there is a wholesale and affiliate program for retailers.

There are no sales, no coupon culture and no published financing or credit options, and no price-matching policy was found, so the listed price is effectively the price. Against other organic latex hybrids the entry organic Kingston at $2,099 undercuts most organic beds, while the Aspen at $8,299 sits in luxury territory and competes on layer count and replaceability rather than brand name.

Chapter 05

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.

Durability claims are ambitious but not independently verified. The Bristol and Bristol 2.0 pages claim a 20 year comfort life, and the brand's about page and social captions reference durability of 20+ years, comfort lasting up to 20 years and no sagging after three years, though that language is brand marketing and Instagram captions rather than lab data.

The design intent does support longevity: glueless pocket coils on the organic models avoid glue breakdown, high-density memory foam and organic latex are inherently long-lived comfort materials, and the zippable cover is explicitly built so the comfort layer alone can be replaced after 12-15 years, which the brand says doubles product life and keeps mattresses out of landfills.

A sustainable layer replacement program plus separately sold 2 in and 3 in organic latex toppers, 5 in, 6 in and 8 in coil replacement units and York 2.0 and Bristol 2.0 zipper encasements make repair practical rather than theoretical, and replacement of a single layer is cheaper than replacing a bed.

Against that, no third-party durability testing, no laboratory roller or foam-density test results, no independently measured sag data and no long-term owner reports were found as of Sept 2026, so the 20-year language should be read as a brand claim rather than a verified measurement.

The warranty's 1.5 in sag threshold also means visible indentations below that level count as normal, which is standard in the category but worth knowing when reading long comfort-life claims, and warranty shipping costs and the non-transferable, original-purchaser-only terms limit how much resale or hand-me-down value the 20-year claim actually delivers.

Chapter 06

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees

Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.

The published policy is an exchange guarantee rather than a refund policy. Shoppers are asked to try the mattress for 30 nights. Within the first year of ownership, if the bed feels too soft or too firm, Williams Co will send the alternate plush or firm coil unit at no cost to you, so firmness can be changed without replacing the mattress; that is the one year coil exchange guarantee.

Two important limits: the free coil exchange explicitly excludes retail partners, and retail locations are responsible for comfort exchanges on sales made within their location, so dealer buyers are governed by the dealer's policy instead.

No general return window, no money-back period, no restocking fee schedule, no return-shipping responsibility and no refund timeline are published anywhere on the site as of Sept 2026; the refund and returns page contains only the 30-night ask, the coil exchange and a pointer to the 10-year non-prorated warranty, and the only other return language found anywhere is giveaway-specific (no returns for credit on any giveaway items).

In practice a direct buyer who simply dislikes the mattress cannot point to a published refund right, and a dealer buyer has no published comfort remedy at all from the brand, only whatever the retailer offers, which is a materially weaker safety net than the 100-night-style trials advertised by most direct-to-consumer competitors.

Chapter 07

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal

Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.

Mattresses are made to order and the brand states delivery in approximately 2 weeks. Free standard shipping is included with every mattress purchase and delivers to the door or a business dock. White glove delivery is optional and handled by a third-party team for an additional fee that is not published; it brings the mattress inside and sets it up in the room of choice.

Old-mattress removal is explicitly not included: the contact FAQ states that white glove does not include a mattress haul away and recommends arranging a local donation or recycling service in your area. No delivery zones, no white-glove transit times, no delivery-fee schedule, no threshold or stair-carry policy and no appointment-window details are published.

Assembly is minimal because the bed arrives as a finished mattress rather than a boxed bed, and social posts note it can sit on a foundation or platform bed; every model is marked compatible with an adjustable base. For a $2,099-$8,299 made-to-order bed, the delivery promise is thinner than at most luxury competitors: roughly two weeks, no haul-away, and a paid third-party setup rather than an in-house white-glove crew.

Typical wait: About 2 weeks

What do the warranties cover?

Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.

Coverage is a 10-year full, non-prorated limited warranty on mattresses and foundations, coded WY-J on the warranty page, with a separate one-year period for pillows. It applies to the original purchaser for personal use, is not transferable, and requires proof of purchase plus the original law label, which must still be attached to the mattress for the warranty to apply.

Covered defects for mattresses are deterioration causing a visible sag or indentation of at least 1.5 inches, physical flaws causing the mattress materials to split or crack despite proper care and usage, and defects in the zipper assembly of the mattress cover. For foundations, covered defects are structural damage or components that squeak, rattle or are broken despite proper care and usage.

Williams Co will repair or replace with a materially similar or superior product and may repair or replace only the affected parts or components, such as a mattress cover, rather than the whole bed.

Excluded: normal softening over time that does not materially reduce functionality, a change in or mismatch with your comfort preference, burns, cuts, tears, spills, soiling, stains, abuse or damage, third-party products, items acquired from anyone other than Williams Co or an authorized reseller, and floor models, demos, used or returned products or anything sold as is.

The bed must be used with an adequate foundation, box spring, base or bedframe with adequate center support, and failure to do so voids the warranty. Warranty shipping is not free: shipping fees apply, pick-up is not included, and the buyer is responsible for shipping costs to return the product and to receive the repaired or replacement item, with round-trip shipping on the buyer if a claim is denied.

Claims must be in writing with the date of purchase, proof of purchase, the original law label and ideally photos, filed with the authorized reseller or by email to alexa@williamscomattress.com. Repair or replacement does not reset the warranty period; the original ten-year period continues to run. The warranty is governed by Colorado law and disputes go to binding arbitration in Denver under AAA commercial rules.

Contact for warranty questions is Williams Co. Headquarters at 303-381-3055.

Review counts checked on each site · they change daily

Customer reviews and complaints

Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.

Review volume is the brand's biggest evidence gap. On the official site, review sections exist on product pages but most are empty: the St. James and the Regent each show a single review at 5.0 stars (the St.

James review is titled Luxurious), while the Aspen, Charleston, Kingston, York 2.0, Oxford, Oxford 2.0, Bristol and Bristol 2.0 pages show no review text at all.

Search across review aggregators, the Better Business Bureau, Reddit and general web search found no third-party Williams Co mattress reviews, no complaint threads and no professional mattress-media coverage as of Sept 2026, so there is no independent verification of comfort, durability or service quality.

Brand-owned social is modest: the @williamscomattress Instagram profile showed roughly 1,336 followers with a Reviews highlight that contains no review content. The honest reading is that complaints could not be found rather than proven absent, so the practical buyer risk is unproven service recovery rather than documented problems.

The policies that would matter in a dispute are at least published (30-night try, one-year free coil exchange, 10-year non-prorated warranty), but the free coil exchange excludes purchases made through retail partners, warranty shipping costs fall on the buyer, and there is no published refund route, which together mean a dissatisfied buyer has fewer formal remedies than at most mainstream brands.

Chapter 10

What are the mattresses made of?

Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.

Three material strategies are used.

Organic Collection beds use certified organic cotton covers, certified organic wool and certified organic latex: the Bristol 2.0 lists GOLS-certified organic latex, the Kingston lists a GOTS organic cotton cover with 2 in 60 D GOLS certified organic latex, the Oxford, Oxford 2.0, York and York 2.0 use soft certified organic latex over glueless pocket coils, and the brand markets the line as using certified organic cotton, natural wool and latex, free of toxins.

Hybrid Collection beds use natural bamboo covers quilted with natural unbleached cooling wool, CertiPUR certified copper gel memory foam and CertiPUR certified HR cold foam over 884-count individually wrapped pocket coils in 14.5 or 15.5 gauge.

Signature Collection beds combine houndstooth organic cotton covers with certified organic wool and then either high-density memory foam or Vita Talalay medium latex over one or two pocket coil layers, and the Aspen is the only model with two coil layers at 6 in and 5 in.

Support across the range is individual pocket coils, described as glueless on organic models, with counts published for several beds (800 at 14.5 gauge on the Kingston, 884 on the York, Oxford, Bristol, Hyde, St. James and Regent, 768 or 1008 on the Bristol 2.0, and 1008 on the York 2.0 and Oxford 2.0) plus edge reinforcement on the memory-foam and latex Signature beds.

The most unusual construction feature is the zippable cover using a durable brass zipper, which the brand says exists for transparency so buyers can see exactly what they are sleeping on and so a single layer can be replaced over time. Organic wool doubles as a naturally fire-retardant layer instead of chemical flame barriers on the Montreat, and dual-core construction places different firmness components on each side for couples.

The brand states no toxic foams and toxin- and chemical-free materials in its own marketing, and only the GOTS, GOLS, CertiPUR and Vita Talalay references name specific third-party certifications; no full certification documentation is published on the product pages.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?

Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.

Williams Co sells primarily direct through williamscomattress.com with standard online checkout, plus a wholesale and affiliate program for brick-and-mortar retailers. There is a Find Store page, but it is a ZIP-code lookup tool only: no showroom addresses, city list or showroom phone numbers are published there.

The only named retail partner found is Green Front Furniture in Farmville, Virginia, which the brand mentions on its Find Store page and tags on social, and the same page tells shoppers to DM the brand for a select retailer near you, so the dealer network is deliberately not public.

Third-party retail listings were searched and none were found on Amazon, big-box chains or major mattress e-tailers as of Sept 2026, which means that outside Farmville, Virginia and any unlisted local dealers, trying a Williams Co bed in person is not reliably possible and most shoppers will be buying sight unseen.

Contact routes are an email contact form and support@williamscomattress.com with a stated 2-3 business day response time, plus a headquarters phone number of 303-381-3055 listed in the warranty terms.

Chapter 12

Williams Co Mattress vs. other mattress brands

Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.

Williams Co competes in the organic and natural mattress space, where its closest peers are other latex-and-coil organic makers and premium hybrids, and secondarily with dealer-channel luxury brands.

Its genuine differentiators versus typical direct-to-consumer organic brands are the publish-every-layer approach (coil counts, coil gauges, latex thicknesses and foam densities are all listed, which is rare at this price), the zippable cover with separately sold replacement layers and coil units, and a dual-core firmness build available across essentially the entire lineup rather than on one flagship.

Its price band overlaps entry luxury, so it is compared against beds with much larger review footprints and long-established trial policies.

That is the main trade-off: mainstream direct-to-consumer brands typically advertise 100-night-plus sleep trials with free returns, financing and hundreds of verified reviews, while Williams Co publishes a 30-night try, a one-year coil exchange, no refund window, no financing and almost no third-party reviews.

Against dealer-channel luxury brands, Williams Co is the more transparent option because specs and prices are public and it sells direct, but it is the weaker option on in-person trial because its showroom network is essentially undisclosed.

Its American-made, women-owned, third-generation Colorado story and 20 year comfort-life claims are the emotional and durability hooks competing with heritage luxury names, and its 2.0 revisions (York 2.0, Oxford 2.0, Bristol 2.0) show an actively updated line rather than a static catalog. Where it clearly leads is repairability and material transparency; where it clearly trails is proof of satisfaction, trial risk and physical availability.

Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.

How we research and report

This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Williams Co Mattress. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.

First the official site: the Aspen product page plus every other product page (York, York 2.0, Oxford, Oxford 2.0, Bristol, Bristol 2.0, Kingston, Hyde, St. James, Regent, Hartford, St. Augustine, Charleston, Montreat, Durango, Telluride, plus pillows, toppers, coil replacements and zipper encasements), with per-size prices read from each page's published product-variation data rather than inferred.

Then the brand's policy and context pages: about, contact and its FAQ block, warranty, refund and returns, getting started, find store, the sitemaps and the Instagram profile. Then retailers and third parties: partner mentions (Green Front Furniture), searches for dealer listings on major retailers, and searches for independent reviews, complaints, BBB records and forum threads.

Rules applied: official site claims first; brand marketing claims labeled as claims rather than facts; no price guessed and no competitor data asserted. Unfindable items are marked not published as of Sept 2026, which applies to colors and finishes, financing, the white-glove fee, delivery zones, return fees and windows, showroom addresses, third-party reviews and independent durability testing.

How much do Williams Co mattresses cost?

Published prices run from $2,099 for a Twin Kingston to $8,299 for a King or Cal King Aspen, with most models landing in the $3,000-$7,000 range depending on size and firmness build.

Is there a sleep trial or money-back guarantee?

The brand asks you to try the bed for 30 nights and offers a free plush-or-firm coil exchange within the first year, but no refund window, return fee or return-shipping terms are published, and the free coil exchange excludes retail partner purchases.

What does the warranty cover?

A 10-year full non-prorated limited warranty on mattresses and foundations (pillows one year) covering sag of 1.5 inches or more, material splitting or cracking under proper care and cover zipper defects, but not normal softening, comfort-preference changes or stains and damage; it is non-transferable, requires the law tag and proof of purchase, and the buyer pays warranty shipping.

Where are they made and how long until delivery?

Handcrafted in Colorado, made to order, delivered in approximately 2 weeks with free standard shipping to the door or business dock.

Can two sleepers get different firmness?

Yes, most models offer Dual Firm builds in Firm/Firm, Firm/Plush or Plush/Plush, the St. James adds Split Head versions, and the zippable cover lets a single layer or coil unit be replaced later.

Can I try one in a store?

Only if you are near a dealer: the Find Store tool is a ZIP lookup with no published addresses, the one named partner found is Green Front Furniture in Farmville, Virginia, and the brand otherwise directs shoppers to DM it for a select retailer near you.

Prices and promos checked Sept 2026. Recheck before buying.
