Vivetique Sleep Systems Mattress Review
Vivetique is a family-run organic mattress maker in Los Angeles County. It was founded in 1917 in Pasadena and has been organic since 1989. Its six adult mattresses cost $2,001 to $7,491. They're built from latex, wool, organic cotton and recycled-steel coils, with no polyurethane. You get a 10-year warranty and free shipping in the contiguous US. It suits you if you want no synthetics. The big drawbacks are that there's no sleep trial, no returns, and no named certification standard.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
The brand doesn't publish sleeping-position, weight or firmness guidance. It also doesn't publish ILD values, density figures or weight limits (checked September 2026). The notes below come from each product's own description.
Back and stomach sleepers should look at the Single Layer, a firm Dunlap slab from $2,480, or the Cotton+Wool innerspring from $2,330. Side sleepers may like the Duo (from $3,269), the Trio (from $3,717) or the Hybrid (from $2,001). The Duo and Hybrid also suit combination sleepers. They have a firm core with a softer Talalay layer.
Every adult model is quilted with organic wool. The brand says wool releases heat in summer and holds it in winter. Vegan cotton-only covers drop that wool layer, so you'll get a different temperature feel. For couples, the Trio's zippered cover lets you rearrange its layers. No split-firmness build is published. King and Cal King cost the same in every model. The Cotton+Wool is the brand's pick for kids' rooms and dorms in Twin and Twin XL. The crib beds are $755 and $675.
The brand highly recommends a foundation with every latex mattress. It says that's what keeps the 10-year warranty in effect. Since there's no trial and no showroom, calling 1-800-365-6563 before you order is the only fit help on offer.
Mattress prices and value
Crib mattresses cost $675 and $755. Adult mattresses start at $2,001 for the Hybrid in Twin. They climb to $7,491 for the Trio in King or Cal King. Queens run from $3,155 (Cotton+Wool) to $5,716 (Trio). Plush Latex Toppers cost $989, $1,113, $1,188, $1,378, $1,557 and $1,557 by size. Firm Latex Toppers cost $1,044, $1,138, $1,174, $1,254, $1,452 and $1,452. Wool toppers cost less.
Foundations, box springs and adjustable slat frames cost extra and are picked at checkout. A matching box spring raises the Hybrid to $2,997 to $6,211. It raises the Tufted Cotton+Wool to $4,786 to $6,820. So a foundation can add roughly $400 to $2,200.
You pay for US hand-building in Los Angeles County, a 1917 history and a no-polyurethane material list. Most direct-to-you rivals include a sleep trial, free returns and a longer warranty at these prices. Vivetique doesn't. Its value case rests on craft and custom sizing, not on price or trial protection. The brand shows sale pricing on core products but doesn't publish financing, price-match or bundle discounts (checked September 2026).
What are the mattresses made of?
The brand says the organic cotton comes from American farmers, mostly in California, with some from Texas and Mississippi. The organic Dunlap latex comes from Sri Lanka. The 100% natural Talalay latex comes from Belgium. Innersprings are recycled metal, and the crib's has 280 coils. Foundations use Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood in an organic cotton cover. Covers have cotton and wool on all sides and the bottom, not only the top.
The brand says it never uses petroleum or chemical-based base or filler materials. Threads and piping are natural or organic too. Its FAQ also warns that a maker can call a latex bed Natural when only about 30% is natural. A retailer's listing says the wool is naturally flame resistant. It also says the mattress meets California and federal fire codes without chemical flame retardants. The brand's own pages don't say this. The Duo, Single Layer, Trio, Hybrid and both cribs offer a vegan cotton cover.
Certification is the weak spot. The site says Certified-Organic often. But it never names a standard, a certifier or a certificate number. It doesn't mention GOLS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GREENGUARD, CertiPUR-US, eco-INSTITUT or USDA Organic. The FAQ also says partner plantations were still moving from 100% Natural to Certified Organic, which takes at least three years. An archived copy of the brand's site from 2015 or earlier showed an organic cotton certificate as a scanned PDF. We couldn't read it. The brand's certification claim is unverified as of September 2026. If it matters to you, ask for the certificate before you buy.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Mattresses carry a 10-year warranty. Latex toppers get 5 years. Other toppers, pillows and comforters get 1 year. The brand says the innerspring cores won't sag, and covers add moisture protection. The Single Layer and Trio can be turned and flipped. The Duo and Hybrid should be turned but not flipped. The Cotton+Wool and Tufted Cotton+Wool should be flipped and turned.
Care rules matter. Don't machine wash anything. Spot clean only, vacuum and air out the bed now and then, and call the brand before cleaning specific products. A natural scent on arrival fades with airing. A retailer says handmade mattresses can vary up to 1 inch in size.
The brand doesn't publish a sag depth that would count as a defect, a proration schedule or a repair fee (checked September 2026). We found no independent durability tests. Latex and steel coils usually outlast foam. But the 10-year term trails the 20 to 25 year or lifetime warranties some organic rivals offer. And with no trial and no returns, a durability problem is harder for you to resolve.
Customer reviews and complaints
The brand's own site shows no star ratings, review widget or testimonials. GoodBed gives the brand 81 out of 100 from 6 ratings. Vivetique Latex scored 81 from 5 ratings, and three other lines are not rated yet. GoodBed has no editorial review. That's too small a sample to lean on.
Yelp lists Vivetique Sleep Systems in Arcadia, CA 91006, updated July 2025, with 10 reviews. The Yelp page was unavailable when we checked in September 2026, so we couldn't read the stars or the text. The Better Business Bureau lists locations at 1111 W Foothill Blvd, Azusa, CA 91702-2871 and 9620 Klingerman Street, South El Monte, CA 91733. It shows the business started 8/31/2001, with a fax of (626) 452-1590 and an extra phone of (877) 344-0640. The brand's own pages show no sag threshold such as 1.5 inches. It isn't BBB Accredited, has no rating and shows no complaint count.
Mattress Clarity, Sleep Foundation, Tuck and The Mattress Underground have no Vivetique coverage that we found. We found no reports of sagging, mold or odor problems. The likeliest source of unhappiness is the policy. With no trial and no showroom, a wrong guess is costly. The site carries a 2023 copyright, and the Rest Naturally footer brand points to a parked domain. So after-sales response may be slow.
Where can you try and buy?
You can buy direct at vivetique.com. It accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal. Call 1-800-365-6563 (8am to 6pm PST in the footer, 6am to 8pm PST on the contact page) or email orders@vivetique.com. The mailing address is 3660 Colorado Blvd., #1014, Pasadena, CA 91107. Custom orders are a stated specialty.
Trying a bed in person is hard. Showroom and factory visits are by appointment only. The wholesale page says the brand is in brick-and-mortar stores in the US, but no dealer list is published. An archived 2013 page also told visitors to call (800) 365-6563 to find a store.
Maple Grace (maplegrace.com) lists five Vivetique mattresses under older names, from about $1,406 to $4,737. They include Dream Lite, All Natural Pedic, Natural Latex, Natural Latex with Organic Cotton Cover, and Innerspring with Organic Cotton and Pure Grow Wool. The brand also sells wholesale, custom and white-label to hotels, colleges, hospitals and retreats. Its owner is Steve Carwile. It's a family company with fewer than 20 employees, founded in 1917 as Crown City Mattress and renamed in 2002. Its dormant sibling line is Reveresse.
Delivery, setup and removal
Shipping is free in most cases to the 48 contiguous states. It's curbside delivery from the factory in southern California. Stairs, balconies, setup, removal and unimproved roads may cost extra. Some island communities may pay a nominal fee. Standard delivery takes 10 business days for non-custom items, and rush delivery is available. A retailer says made-to-order beds take about 3 to 6 weeks.
Latex mattresses ship rolled in a smaller box via the brand's Easy-Ship method. With common carrier, drivers generally don't bring items inside or take packaging away. In parts of Northern and Southern California, the brand's own team sets up the mattress at no extra cost. International shipping is possible by arrangement.
The brand partners with the Mattress Recycling Council to remove old mattresses. It doesn't publish a removal fee, and removal may carry a charge (checked September 2026). The brand publishes these sizes: Twin 39 x 76 inches, Twin XL 39 x 80, Full 54 x 76, Queen 60 x 80, King 76 x 80 and Cal King 72 x 84. A retailer lists Twin 38 x 74, Twin XL 38 x 79, Full 53 x 74, Queen 60 x 79, King 76 x 79 and Cal King 72 x 84. Custom sizes are available by phone.
Sleep trial and returns
There's no sleep trial, no return and no refund. The FAQ says the brand offers an exchange policy only. You get a one-time comfort exchange within 30 days of receipt. Shipping charges apply, so you'll pay to send the bed back and likely to receive the replacement.
Custom orders are stricter. They may carry added restrictions, and refunds aren't available. Comfort problems are handled by phone or email. The brand may point you to a topper, which costs $989 to $1,557 for latex, or a wool pad. A retailer describes the same 30-day exchange, so it seems to be the rule across channels.
This is a weak risk package at $2,000 to $7,500, where 100-night trials are common. Treat a phone call before ordering as your trial. On arrival, air out the mattress after removing all shipping material. The brand doesn't publish an exchange fee or a return freight rule (checked September 2026).
Warranty
Mattresses carry 10 years. Latex toppers get 5 years. Other toppers, pillows and comforters get 1 year. The warranty covers manufacturer defects in materials and production. It isn't a comfort guarantee. It runs from the original purchase date. It covers the original purchaser only and isn't transferable.
It's void if you abuse, damage or stain the product. You must use the mattress on a flat, horizontal surface that supports the whole structure, with ample ventilation. The brand says a foundation is what keeps the 10-year warranty in effect for latex models. A retailer says allergies aren't covered.
The brand doesn't publish a full exclusions list, a sag depth, a proration schedule, a claims process or who pays warranty shipping (checked September 2026). Claims go through 1-800-365-6563 or orders@vivetique.com. Ask for the warranty terms and the sag threshold in writing before you order.
Vivetique Sleep Systems vs. other brands
Against Savvy Rest, Vivetique's entry firm latex bed is cheaper at $2,480 in Twin and it does custom sizes. But Savvy Rest publishes GOLS and GOTS certification and offers a longer trial. Against Sleep on Latex and PlushBeds, you'll pay more per inch of latex and get no trial. In return you get hand-building in Los Angeles County, a wool cover on all sides and a vegan option.
Avocado publishes GOTS, GOLS and GREENGUARD Gold, offers 100-night trials and 25-year warranties, and sells queen hybrids for less. Vivetique's Cotton+Wool beds are foam-free spring-and-fibre builds. They suit you if you distrust certification labels. Against Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Serta and Casper, Vivetique costs more and takes 10 business days to about 6 weeks. It has no trial or showrooms. You'd choose it only to avoid foam.
Naturepedic publishes GOTS, GOLS and MADE SAFE certification and has wide retail availability. Vivetique's cribs at $755 and $675 are competitive and offer vegan builds. Vivetique wins on its no-polyurethane build, custom work, free shipping, and King priced like Cal King. It loses on certification, trial, returns, review history and sag terms.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy
Is the Vivetique latex mattress actually certified organic?
The brand calls its latex Certified-Organic Dunlap. But it never names a standard, a certifier or a certificate number. Its FAQ also says partner plantations were moving from 100% Natural to Certified Organic, which takes at least three years. Treat the claim as unverified as of September 2026. Ask for the certificate before you buy if it matters to you.
Can I try a Vivetique mattress before I buy, or see one in a store?
Not easily. Showroom and factory visits are by appointment only. No dealer list is published. If you want to see one in a store, call 1-800-365-6563 and ask.
What happens if I don't like the mattress after it arrives?
