Tulo Mattress Review

Tulo is Mattress Firm's exclusive boxed-mattress value brand, also sold through an Amazon storefront. Its Bamboo Green Tea, Lavender, Hybrid and Green Tea Hybrid lines run roughly $220 to $690 at Mattress Firm. Early Amazon ratings are strong, but most Amazon listings showed Currently unavailable in September 2026. You get a real store to test it in, a 120-night trial and a 10-year warranty. It's a budget first bed, not an upgrade.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Is Tulo the best mattress for you?

Good fit if you want

  • Back and stomach sleepers up to roughly 130 to 230 lbs who like firm contouring foam
  • Couples on a budget (lab motion isolation 7.5/10)
  • Mattress Firm shoppers who value the 120-night trial and Low Price Guarantee
  • Guest rooms and starter beds

Look elsewhere if you need

  • Hot sleepers (foam tested 6/10 on temperature control)
  • Sleepers over 230 lbs, since support thins out
  • Side sleepers who need plush cushioning (the 6 in and 8 in feel too firm)
  • Anyone expecting 8 to 10 years of life (lab says 6 to 7 years)
  • Shoppers who need to buy on Amazon right now

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Back sleepers have the best fit. The Bamboo 8 in Medium was the lab favorite under 230 lbs, and the 6 in Firm suits back and stomach sleepers who want a firm, thin bed. Stomach sleepers get the right firmness from the 6 in and 8 in. But those only support sleepers under about 130 lbs, so heavier stomach sleepers sink and should look elsewhere.

Side sleepers should choose the 10 in or 12 in Bamboo (medium, medium soft) or the Lavender 10 in Medium Plush. That works if you weigh under about 230 lbs, and it's best under 130 lbs. The 6 in and 8 in feel too firm on shoulders and hips. Couples do best with memory foam, which isolates motion best (lab 7.5/10). The hybrid lines cut partner disturbance with encased coils.

Hot sleepers should avoid the all-foam line. Temperature control tested 6/10, owners complain of heat, and nothing in the range is actively cooling. If you weigh over 230 lbs, consider a Tulo hybrid or another brand, since lab testers found the foam models too soft.

Mattress prices and value

On Amazon, every Tulo mattress listing we checked showed Currently unavailable with no buy-box price in September 2026. That covers Bamboo 6 in Twin and Full, Lavender 6, 8, 10 and 12 in, Hybrid 10 in and Green Tea Hybrid 8 in, plus the topper and bed frame. So you can't confirm live Amazon pricing.

At Mattress Firm, the brand's exclusive retailer, the Bamboo 6 in Firm was discounted to $219.99 from $629.99 (65 percent off). The Bamboo 8 in Medium Queen listed at $689.99 in September 2026. Sleep Foundation recorded regular pricing of $350 to $660, with Queen from $540 for the Bamboo line. Shipping is free within the contiguous US at most retailers. A Walmart marketplace listing for the Bamboo 8 in showed $249.99 Queen, out of stock.

It's genuinely budget-tier memory foam, comparable to Zinus and Lucid. The 120-night trial and Low Price Guarantee lower your risk. The catch is a 6 to 7 year expected lifespan and thin edge support on taller models.

What are the mattresses made of?

All Tulo mattresses are foam or foam-and-coil beds built to a value spec. The Bamboo Green Tea line has a stretch-knit rayon-from-bamboo cover. The comfort layer is green-tea-infused memory foam, 1.5 in to 4 in thick. The 10 in adds a 2 in gel memory foam layer. Under it sits a 4.5 in to 8 in high-density polyfoam core, two foam layers in total. The Amazon 6 in lists 1.5 in of green tea memory foam over 4.5 in of base foam, plus OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified textiles.

Firmness drops with height. The 6 in is firm (7), the 8 in medium firm (6), the 10 in medium (5) and the 12 in medium soft (4). The Lavender line has lavender-infused memory foam plus Tulo base foam under a soft-knit cover. Spec sheets show three layers on the 6 in and two on the 8 in. The Hybrid line has memory foam over fabric-encased coils with CertiPUR-US certified foam. The Green Tea Hybrid has green tea memory foam plus individually wrapped coils, made by Corsicana per Amazon specs.

Amazon listings cover Twin through King. Mattress Firm's 8 in FAQ also lists a California King, while Sleep Foundation says the Bamboo line stops short of Cal King. Confirm size availability before you order.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Expect roughly six to seven years from the all-foam models. Sleep Foundation rates Tulo durability 6/10 (5.5/10 for the 12 in). It says the all-foam Bamboo isn't expected to last beyond six or seven years.

Owner feedback is mixed. Several buyers say their Tulo still holds its shape after months of use. One Amazon reviewer noted a relative's 2019 Tulo still keeps its shape. Others report body impressions and sagging. One Mattress Firm customer's bed sagged in the middle after about three years, and one owner's 10 in model measured under 9 in.

The 10-year warranty only covers sagging deeper than 1.5 in (3/4 in on smooth-top models). It excludes comfort preference, so it won't rescue a merely softened bed. Rotate it head to foot every six months and use a solid foundation. The 6 in model's thinner layers are the most wear-prone.

Customer reviews and complaints

Amazon ratings are positive but based on small samples. Bamboo 6 in has 5.0 stars from 4 ratings (Twin and Full). Lavender 6 in has 4.5 from 14, Lavender 8 in 4.3 from 21, Lavender 10 in 4.4 from 59 and Lavender 12 in 4.3 from 74. Hybrid 10 in and Green Tea Hybrid 8 in each have 5.0 from 1. The topper sits at 4.0 from 3 and the bed frame at 5.0 from 2.

Praise centers on value, comfort, motion isolation and no off-gas smell. Recurring complaints start with beds that arrive firmer than expected, even hard. The plush-listed Lavender 10 in drew a 1-star Falsely advertised review citing heat and soreness. Others say the lavender scent fades within about two weeks, that they sleep hot, and that sagging appears after about three years. One long-term owner called the hybrid a trampoline.

GoodBed aggregates 247 Tulo customer ratings. A 2018 Reddit thread accused Tulo of selectively publishing reviews. SlumberSearch's aggregate shows classic budget-foam trade-offs: good for the price but mixed on longevity.

Where can you try and buy?

Tulo is sold on Amazon through the brand store. It has collections for Bamboo, Lavender, Hybrid, Green Tea Hybrid, toppers and bed frames. Most listings showed Currently unavailable in September 2026. It's also sold at Mattress Firm stores and mattressfirm.com/tulo, the brand's exclusive retail home. The site tulo.com redirects there.

To try one in person, visit a Mattress Firm showroom. The Bamboo 8 in page showed no same-day take-home, and some ZIP codes showed no area availability, so selection varies by store. A Walmart marketplace listing for the Tulo by Mattress Firm Bamboo 8 in was out of stock at last check.

Delivery, setup and removal

On Amazon, Tulo ships as a compressed bed-in-a-box to your doorstep, with Amazon's large-item customer support. The brand itself offers no white-glove setup or old-mattress removal. Sleep Foundation notes Tulo doesn't currently offer White Glove delivery or mattress removal, though third-party retailers may.

Setup is DIY. Unbox and unroll it. Owners report the foam expands within about 8 hours, and any off-gassing odor fades over roughly one to two days. Most Amazon buyers report no strong smell.

At Mattress Firm, you get scheduled delivery to a US ZIP code plus in-store pickup when stock allows. The Bamboo 8 in page quoted a 2 to 3 day window in September 2026. The brand doesn't publish mattress removal as a Tulo service, so ask the store. The brand doesn't publish an installation or haul-away fee schedule on the Amazon listings (checked September 2026).

Sleep trial and returns

Where you buy decides your trial. At Mattress Firm, the 120 Night Sleep Trial lets you sleep on it for 120 nights. If you don't love it, the store helps you find a new one or refunds your money. There's a 30-night minimum before a return or exchange. A Low Price Guarantee is matched up to 120 nights.

On Amazon, purchases fall under Amazon's standard large-item return policy, typically a 30-day window with scheduled pickup, not a Tulo trial. Amazon listing pages show no Tulo sleep-trial terms. Older customer posts describe in-store exchange-only handling, so confirm current terms with the seller before you buy. The brand does not publish specific return fee amounts (checked September 2026).

Warranty

Tulo mattresses carry a 10-year limited warranty. The Amazon Bamboo 6 in listing states 10 year/10 year. Sleep Foundation confirms a 10-year limited warranty covering defects in workmanship or materials, with defective mattresses repaired or replaced.

Mattress Firm's warranty text adds the rules. Coverage runs to the original purchaser within the United States only. Some 10-year products are fully non-prorated, while others prorate from years 2, 4 or 6. It excludes sagging or body impressions under 1.5 in (3/4 in on smooth-top, non-quilted models) and comfort or firmness preference. It also excludes mattress fabric, stains or unsanitary condition, and structural damage from improper frames or slat spacing over 2 in. Floor models, as-is bedding and transportation costs are excluded too. Normal softening and a 1 in dip aren't defects.

Tulo vs. other brands

Tulo's main edge is its Mattress Firm link. You get a showroom network, a 120-night trial and frequent deep discounts that pure Amazon brands like Zinus, Lucid or Amazon Basics can't match. You'll find Zinus and Lucid beat it on Amazon availability and review volume. A Zinus 12 in Queen held 91.4K ratings at $299.99 in our Amazon search, while most Tulo listings were out of stock.

Against premium bed-in-a-box brands such as Nectar and DreamCloud, Tulo is far cheaper. But it gives up trial length and warranty generosity. Those brands advertise 365-night trials and a Forever Warranty in their Amazon listings, and the DreamCloud Classic 12 in Queen listed at $699.

Against hybrids and specialty brands, Tulo's all-foam beds trail on cooling and edge support. It doesn't help that its own hybrid line drew a harsh long-term owner review. It's a budget first bed, guest room or starter pick, not an upgrade mattress.

How we put this review together

We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy

Who makes Tulo?

It's Mattress Firm's exclusive boxed mattress brand. Amazon spec sheets list manufacturing partners Mlily for the 6 in Bamboo and Corsicana for the Green Tea Hybrid.

Bamboo versus Lavender, what is the difference?

Bamboo pairs a rayon-from-bamboo cover with green-tea-infused memory foam. It comes as a 6 in Firm on Amazon and 8, 10 and 12 in Medium to Medium Plush via Mattress Firm. Lavender uses lavender-infused memory foam and a soft-knit cover in 6, 8, 10 and 12 in, firm to medium.

How firm is a Tulo?

Roughly 7/10 firm on the 6 in down to 4/10 medium soft on the 12 in. Most sleepers land on the 8 in medium firm or 10 in medium, so you don't need the extremes.

How much does a Tulo cost?

It's budget money. Sleep Foundation recorded $350 to $660 regular, with Queen from $540. Mattress Firm showed the 6 in Bamboo at $219.99 (from $629.99) in September 2026, while Amazon listings had no live price.

Is there a sleep trial and warranty?

Yes. You get 120 nights at Mattress Firm with a 30-night minimum, and a 10-year limited warranty. Amazon orders follow Amazon's return policy.

Can you buy Tulo on Amazon today?

The storefront exists, but most listings read Currently unavailable in September 2026.
