Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
If you sleep on your back, either model works. The Luxe suits you if you want firm support with a touch more contouring. If you sleep on your stomach, pick either model. The Plank Firm's extra-firm side is the flattest option.
If you sleep on your side, this usually isn't for you. Sleep Foundation notes that only heavier side sleepers, such as 230-plus-lb testers, may get enough cushion without sinking. Lighter side sleepers report hip and shoulder pain. If you sleep hot, you'll get breathable open-cell foams, coil airflow on the Luxe and the optional GlacioTex cooling cover. Both models support up to 950 lbs. If you weigh over 300 lbs, the brand points you to its sibling Titan Plus.
Mattress prices and value
Before-discount Queen prices are $1,332 for the Plank Firm and $1,598 for the Luxe. Twins start at $749 and $1,065. Kings run $1,532 and $1,865. A 25%-off sitewide sale (code ANNI25) was live when we looked. It cut the Plank Firm Twin to $561.75 and the Luxe Twin to $798.75. So street prices run well below list.
This is mid-range bed-in-a-box pricing with frequent promotions. You get US assembly, GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US foams, and a limited lifetime warranty. The premium over budget all-foam rivals buys verified extra-firm support, not luxury materials. The brand advertises 0% APR financing. It also notes HSA and FSA eligibility for qualified customers.
What are the mattresses made of?
Both mattresses are flippable and two-sided. They're made in America with foreign and domestic components and assembled in the brand's Arizona facility. The Plank Firm has a quilted top weave with track-and-jump stitching, high-density base foam, Supreme Response comfort foam and a quilted bottom. Sleep Foundation lists 0.75-inch quilt foam, 2-inch TitanFlex transition foam and a 7-inch 1.8-PCF polyfoam core.
The Luxe adds a 6-inch core of individually encased Ascension firm coils (up to 961) with high-density support foams. Covers are four-way stretch knit, with an optional sewn-in GlacioTex phase-change cooling panel. The brand states GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US foams. It does not publish latex, organic or wool content (checked September 2026).
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The brand says the flippable design improves longevity, since both sides are sleepable. It states all Brooklyn Bedding mattresses support up to 950 lbs. The warranty covers sag over 1.5 inches and foam or coil splits. Sleep Foundation scores the Plank Firm 7 of 10 for durability.
Buyer reports add some caveats. One 290-lb reviewer saw softening within two months on the used side. Several combo sleepers said the surface stayed painfully hard instead of breaking in. The brand does not publish independent long-term or rollator testing (checked September 2026).
Customer reviews and complaints
On the brand's site, the Plank Firm shows about 4.67 of 5 from 4,202 reviews. The Plank Firm Luxe shows about 4.57 of 5 from 3,278 reviews. AI-summarized praise covers firmness, support, quality and fast delivery. Sleep Foundation rates the Plank Firm 8.5 of 10 and names it a best extra-firm pick. NCOA names it Best Firm Mattress Overall (2026), and NapLab names it a best firm mattress. Wired names the Luxe best firm mattress for back pain.
Complaints are easy to predict. Some find it too firm, with hip and shoulder pain and returns considered. Others report delivery and carrier delays, the $99 return fee and one softening report. Some partner sleepers find even the softer side too hard.

We couldn't confirm Amazon, big-box or department-store availability as of September 2026. The brand does not publish a dealer or showroom list for Plank itself. The 120-night home trial is your stated way to try it.
Delivery, setup and removal
Shipping is free by FedEx Ground to the contiguous 48 states. Product pages say it ships in 3 to 7 business days. The shipping policy says 5 to 7 business days, plus 7 to 10 business days of mattress production time. Tracking is emailed, and it takes 24 to 48 hours to activate. Alaska and Hawaii start at $125 per mattress. Canada starts at $250 per mattress, though the policy FAQ also quotes $550 for one mattress to Canada.
It's a bed-in-a-box to your door. You unbox, unroll and let it expand. The brand doesn't offer white-glove setup. It does not publish an old-mattress removal service (checked September 2026). For trial returns, it says it will help dispose of the mattress.
Sleep trial and returns
You get a 120-night comfort trial that starts on delivery. You must wait out a 30-day break-in from delivery before you start a return. You can use the trial once only, so a second mattress isn't eligible. Returns carry a $99 fee to cover pickup. The brand says it will help dispose of the mattress and works to donate, recycle or repurpose returns.
For exchanges, contact support@brooklynbedding.com. The brand describes return-then-reorder and return-plus-immediate-reorder paths. Clearance items can't be returned or exchanged. Accessories have a 30-day exchange or refund window. Adjustable-base sales are final. Shipping charges to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada aren't refundable.
Warranty
This is a limited lifetime warranty for mattresses bought after 02/01/2025. Earlier purchases use prior terms. In years 1 to 10, you get non-prorated repair or replacement at no cost. In years 11 to 15, it's prorated at 50% of then-current retail. Years 16 to 20 are at 60%, and year 21 onward is at 75%. You get the same model and size, or a like-build substitute if it's discontinued.
It covers visible indentation over 1.5 inches not caused by an improper foundation. It also covers foam or coil splits under normal use and cover assembly defects. It excludes normal softening, comfort preference after the trial, abuse, stains and liquid damage. Slats more than 5 inches apart void coverage, and so does removing the cover. It's for the original purchaser only and isn't transferable. You need proof of purchase, and disputes go through binding arbitration.
Plank Mattress vs. other brands
Against the sibling Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid, Plank wins on maximum firmness and back-pain positioning. Signature wins on comfort choice and side sleepers. Against the sibling Titan Plus, Plank wins on extra-firm feel at lower prices. Titan Plus wins on plus-size support engineering.
Against Saatva Classic Firm, Plank wins on price, bed-in-a-box convenience and flippable firmness. Saatva wins on white-glove delivery, in-home setup and luxury positioning. Against budget firm memory foam such as Zinus, Plank wins on US assembly, GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US certification, and clear trial and warranty terms. Budget rivals win on lower everyday prices.
