Northwest Bedding has built mattresses in Spokane since 1966. It sells about 30 models across nine collections: Chiropractor, Cool Comfort, Comfort Support, Columbia, Hospitality, Signature, Elite Latex, Platinum Latex and Ultimate Life. It suits Inland Northwest shoppers who want a locally built latex hybrid. It's not for online buyers.

Good fit if you: live near Spokane or a dealer in WA, ID, OR, MT, WY or HI and want to test in person; want a locally factory-built mattress with Talalay latex or zoned pocketed-coil hybrid options; like two-sided flippable builds (Hospitality 5-Star, Coeur d'Alene Memory Plush); need plus-size durability (Ultimate Life) or chiropractor-positioned support lines.
Poor fit if you: want online checkout with published prices, a stated sleep trial or free return shipping; need a national white-glove delivery network with published fees; want certified-organic builds or published third-party review scores; shop strictly on budget with full price grids.

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Side sleepers: target softer packages -- Chiropractor 4000/3000, Kootenay Pillowtop or Plush, Roosevelt Latex Plush, Cool Comfort Carousel or Manito Latex, Signature Pillow Top, Elite Parkview/Duncan Garden, Platinum 1000/1200. Back sleepers: mid-range options such as Kootenay Plush, Pend O'Reille Eurotop, Latah Creek, Signature Euro Top/Plush, Ultimate Life II/III.
Stomach sleepers and heavier builds: firmer picks such as Chiropractor 1000, Comfort Support Firm, Kootenay Firm, Priest Lake Latex Firm, Riverview Latex, Ultimate Life I/II/III with heavy-gauge double-offset coils. All guidance is brand-description based; no published ILD-per-model grid or third-party firmness testing found as of Sept 2026.

Which Northwest Bedding feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Northwest Bedding publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
Northwest Bedding lists 6 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
HOSPITALITY COLLECTION (hotel beds for home): The Bed at Northern Quest Resort and Casino: one-sided pocketed-coil (5-zone) with Talalay latex plus two soft CushionFlex convoluted foam layers; soft, body-conforming luxury feel. Coeur d'Alene Resort Memory Plush: two-sided tight top with foam-encased offset coils plus plant-based visco-elastic memory foam over firm plant foam; damask quilt, quarterly turn labels.
5-Star Luxury Plush Eurotop: foam-encased offset coils with firm plant foam plus soft convoluted foam; damask Eurotop luxury feel. 5-Star Plush Firm: highest-placed two-sided set; 504 offset coils with U-Guard edge supports plus firm convoluted foam both sides; firm but comfortable.
CHIROPRACTOR COLLECTION (1000-4000, firm support with varied surfaces): 4000 (pillowtop, pocketed coils fully foam-encased top/bottom/perimeter, Talalay latex plus medium-firm and soft convoluted CushionFlex foams; softest luxury surface); 3000 (same encased pocketed-coil plus Talalay construction in tight-top form); 2000 (encased pocketed coils with medium-firm and soft CushionFlex foams, no latex listed; supple surface); 1000 (pocketed coils, firm high-density plus soft convoluted foam; firmest, yielding surface).
COMFORT SUPPORT (value innerspring): Firm (foam-encased InnerAct offset coils, 55 ILD base foam, firm CushionFlex; brand rates 1-2 firmness index); Pillow Top (same coil base with 2-inch soft convoluted foam plus soft pillow layer; brand rates 3-4); Gel (medium-firm plant-foam core with gel-infused memory-foam belly band plus soft convoluted foam; soft surface).
COLUMBIA COLLECTION (zoned pocketed coils, Northwest lake names): Kootenay Firm (7-zone multi-gauge pocketed coils, firm CushionFlex; very firm); Kootenay Plush (same zoned coils with soft convoluted foam; softer luxury); Kootenay Pillowtop (zoned coils, firm foam plus thick soft convoluted pillow layer; softest Kootenay); Priest Lake Latex Firm (pocketed coils, very-firm convoluted foam plus Talalay latex; firm latex); Roosevelt Latex Plush (pocketed coils, soft convoluted foam plus Talalay; soft latex); Pend O'Reille Latex Eurotop (pocketed coils, thick soft convoluted foam plus Talalay Eurotop package).

SIGNATURE (flagship zoned pocketed-coil + Talalay hybrids): Latex Plush, Latex Euro Top, Latex Pillow Top (pillowtop adds plush CushionFlex quilt over medium-firm plus plush Talalay); all buoyant, low motion transfer.
ELITE LATEX (solid Talalay cores, Tencel + Joma wool quilt): City Lights (flagship latex positioning; soft and medium-firm Talalay layering per collection copy); Parkview (firm Talalay core with soft and medium-firm Talalay comfort layers); Duncan Garden(s) (firm core with generous soft Talalay layer).
PLATINUM LATEX (solid Talalay + graphite cooling): 1000 (firm Talalay core, soft/medium-firm Talalay, graphite-infused top layer); 1200 (same platform with 3-inch graphite-infused top layer). ULTIMATE LIFE (heavy-duty for petite/plus sizes): I (heavy-gauge double-offset coils, medium-firm plus soft plant foams); II (adds thick medium-firm Talalay layer); III (adds thick firm plus soft Talalay layers); all foam-encased with firm edges.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Homepage collection teasers list Chiropractor Collection starting at $799, Cool Comfort Collection starting at $799, and Hospitality Collection starting at $749; no full per-model, per-size price grid or online cart/checkout found on official pages as of Sept 2026.
Value read: factory-direct local build with latex and zoned-coil content at mid-tier teaser pricing undercuts national luxury-latex flagships on paper, but unpublished final prices, fees and trial/return terms make value-vs-rival comparisons incomplete; shop in store for out-the-door quotes. Full mattress prices and value details: Not published as of Sept 2026.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Warranty length is stated per individual Warranty Card and no universal year term is published on the warranty page; coverage follows standard innerspring/latex sag and defect practice with a >1-1/2-inch body-impression measurement protocol (straight edge and ruler, measured off the quilt stitching, photos required) and prorated repair charges after the non-prorated period expires.
Durability design notes (brand-reported): two-sided flippable builds with quarterly turn labels (Hospitality, Coeur d'Alene), foam encasements for edge support, heavy-gauge double-offset coils in Ultimate Life for plus-size/heavy use, latex airflow/resilience claims (up to 3x airflow vs conventional/memory foam, brand claim).
No independent durability testing (e.g., RTINGS-style cycle tests) or published sag-rate data found as of Sept 2026; queen/king sets require center-supported frames with cross member and fifth leg.

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
Sleep trial length, return/exchange mechanics and fees: Not published as of Sept 2026 -- no trial-duration, comfort-guarantee, return-window, restocking-fee, or exchange policy located on official Mattresses, Our Collections, Warranty Info, About or Contact pages. Warranty page expressly states the manufacturer does not warrant comfort or firmness.
Shoppers must confirm any store-level comfort exchange in writing before purchase; assume no national-brand-style 100-night free-return program unless a store provides it.

Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Standard delivery method, coverage, cost, speed, white-glove setup and old-mattress removal terms: Not published as of Sept 2026 -- official pages direct shoppers to stores and dealers with no shipping-fee grid or checkout flow.
Only published transport figure is warranty-claim logistics: inspections at the Northwest Bedding plant (no in-home inspections), consumer pays transport, with optional brand home pickup/delivery at $50.00 each way or $100 plus tax in the normal delivery area. Frame/base spec published on warranty page: queen and king sets require a proper frame supporting the center with at least one cross member and fifth leg.
Bedding and furniture delivery details: Not published as of Sept 2026.
Typical wait: Not published

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
Official warranty page terms: coverage extends only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase (absence voids coverage); stains/soiling of unknown origin void coverage (brand advises a protector); body impressions are expected and measured at >1-1/2 inch with straight-edge/ruler photo protocol (five photos: frame, foundation, mattress top, two defect angles); center-of-king ridge and frame-support issues are maintenance/setup matters; queen/king require center support; confirmed defects are repaired (comparable materials if identical unavailable); prorated repair charges apply after the non-prorated period, computed as percent-of-use times purchase price, with non-prorated length per Warranty Card; transport to/from factory is the consumer's cost (brand pickup/delivery $50 each way / $100 plus tax in normal area); no loaner mattresses per health regulations; no comfort/firmness or health claims warranted.
Claims via warranty claim form emailed to warranty@nwbedding.com with proof of purchase and stain-free attestation. Per-line year terms: Not published as of Sept 2026 (see Warranty Card).
Covered when the dip is deeper than More than 1-1/2 inches, measured with nobody on the bed.
Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

Review counts checked on each site · they change daily
Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
Brand-site star ratings and third-party scores: Not published as of Sept 2026 -- no product-level ratings module, Google/BBB/Yelp score, or editorial review (Sleep Foundation, Mattress Clarity, Sleepopolis, RTINGS) located via accessible sources; official pages carry no review text. Complaint themes from citable sources: none verifiable as of Sept 2026.
Policy-derived friction points shoppers report with factory-direct stores generally (not brand-specific complaints): in-factory (not in-home) inspections, five-photo claim documentation, consumer-paid transport, no loaner mattress during claims, stains void coverage, and no comfort/firmness warranty -- all stated on the brand warranty page. warranty mechanics favor careful setup (protector, center-supported frame) and in-store comfort testing over post-purchase adjustments.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Support cores per official collection pages: foam-encased InnerAct offset coils (Comfort Support), 504-count offset coils with U-Guard edge (5-Star Plush Firm), 5-zone and 7-zone multi-gauge individually wrapped/pocketed coils (Northern Quest, Columbia Kootenay, Signature zoned), fabric-encased pocketed coils fully foam-encased top/bottom/perimeter (Chiropractor), stratified high-density plant-based foam cores (Cool Comfort), solid Talalay latex cores (Elite, Platinum), heavy-gauge double-offset coils (Ultimate Life).

Northwest Bedding vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Vs. national innerspring brands (Serta, Sealy, Beautyrest): Northwest Bedding wins on local factory build, two-sided flippable options and latex-hybrid choice, but loses on published pricing transparency, online buying, stated trial terms and third-party review volume. Vs. DTC bed-in-box (Casper, Purple, Nectar): wins on in-store testing, zoned coils and real latex, but loses on e-commerce convenience, free-trial positioning and published specs.
Vs. latex specialists (Avocado, PlushBeds, Savvy Rest): wins on local pricing teasers and hybrid variety, but loses on organic certifications and published latex densities/ILDs. Vs. regional factory-direct peers (e.g., Denver Mattress, Original Mattress Factory): comparable local-build value story; Northwest Bedding differentiates with chiropractor, hospitality-hotel and graphite-latex lines, but publishes less on trial/warranty years.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.

How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Northwest Bedding. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
Key sources: official collection pages for model construction copy, homepage for starting-price teasers and company history, warranty page for claims/proration/transport terms, contact page for the three Spokane addresses and dealer list. No accessible third-party ratings or editorial reviews were located; retailer and review sources added nothing citable beyond the official site.

Quick Answers
Quick Answers Before You Buy
Safety and materials
Buying and policies
Is Northwest Bedding a local manufacturer?
Yes -- founded 1966 (incorporated July 1966) after moving equipment from Southgate, California; factory-direct stores and plant in the Spokane area with dealers across the Northwest plus Hawaii and Wyoming.
Can I buy the hotel beds?
Yes -- the Hospitality Collection sells the Northern Quest Resort and Casino bed, Coeur d'Alene Resort Memory Plush, 5-Star Luxury Plush Eurotop and 5-Star Plush Firm for home use in stores.
Are the mattresses flippable?
Hospitality two-sided models, including Coeur d'Alene Memory Plush and the 5-Star sets, have quarterly turn labels. Most other collections look one-sided, so confirm each model in store.
Is there a sleep trial or comfort guarantee?
None published -- the warranty page disclaims comfort/firmness coverage, so get any store exchange promise in writing; published trial/return terms not found as of Sept 2026.
How do warranty claims work?
Email the claim form to warranty@nwbedding.com with proof of purchase and five photos (frame, foundation, top, two defect angles); inspection at the plant only, transport at your cost, prorated charges after the non-prorated period.
Does Northwest Bedding make custom sizes?
The brand states it builds custom mattresses for antique beds, RVs and boats -- call (509) 244-3000 for quotes.
Are mattresses flippable?
Hospitality two-sided models (including Coeur d'Alene Memory Plush and 5-Star sets) are two-sided with quarterly turn labels; most other collections read as one-sided -- confirm per model in store.
