Harvest Green Mattress Review

Harvest Green Mattress is a Chicago factory-direct organic latex hybrid brand. It sells the 11-inch Original and the 13-inch Pillow Top. The brand cites GOLS latex, GOTS wool and cotton, GREENGUARD Gold and eco-INSTITUT claims. You get a 100-night trial and a 25-year warranty. It's best if you want fewer chemicals in your bed. The trade-off is premium prices and a heavy, hand-built mattress. Beds are made to order, so they don't arrive overnight.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Back and stomach sleepers should look at the Original. It has a firmer surface and less sink, and the brand rates it 7 out of 10. Side and combination sleepers should look at the Pillow Top. Its extra 2 inches of latex relieves shoulder and hip pressure. Heavier sleepers and athletes are also pointed to the Pillow Top. Children and lighter people are pointed to the Original.

If you sleep hot, the brand says breathable latex, wool and cotton with airflow-friendly coils help. It publishes no cooling test data (checked September 2026). The brand claims limited bounce and good motion control for couples. If you have a latex or wool allergy, the brand advises you to talk to a physician first.

Mattress prices and value

The Original costs $1,299 for Twin, $1,399 for Twin XL, $1,699 for Full, $1,999 for Queen, and $2,499 for King or Cal King. The Pillow Top costs $1,899 for Twin, $1,999 for Twin XL, $2,399 for Full, $2,499 for Queen, and $3,299 for King or Cal King (live product data, September 2026).

That's premium organic hybrid pricing. The Chicago factory-direct build, GOLS latex, hand-tufting and 25-year warranty justify some of it. It's still expensive next to conventional hybrids. The brand doesn't publish its promotion schedule or financing terms, so confirm current offers before you buy.

What are the mattresses made of?

The Original is 11 inches. From top to bottom, you get a certified organic cotton cover and GOTS-certified organic wool with OEKO-TEX Standard (1 oz per sq ft). Next come 2 inches of 100% GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex (Soft, D65/14-19 ILD) and an 8-inch zoned pocketed coil unit. The coils number up to 1,089, with 15-gauge center and 13.75-gauge sides, recycled steel, built in the brand's own Chicago factory. A 1-inch GOLS Dunlop latex base and a GOTS organic cotton canvas bottom finish it. The 13-inch Pillow Top adds a second 2-inch latex layer.

There are no chemical adhesives between comfort layers, because hand-tufted wool rosettes bind them. There's no polyurethane, memory foam or fiberglass, and the wool doubles as the fire barrier.

GOLS and eco-INSTITUT latex certificate PDFs are linked on the brand's certifications page. Product pages claim GREENGUARD Gold for the finished mattress. GOTS claims cover components, the cotton and wool. The brand doesn't publish a finished-mattress GOTS certificate (checked September 2026).

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The brand leans on old-world durability. Hand-tufting is meant to prevent dips, valleys and layer shift. Recycled-steel zoned coils support the edges, and the bed uses latex over innerspring rather than foam. The warranty sag threshold is 1 inch of visible indentation.

For care, rotate head to toe monthly for the first six months, then every other month. Use a rigid or slatted base with slats no more than 5 inches apart. Open compressed units within 30 days. No independent durability or sag testing is published (checked September 2026).

Customer reviews and complaints

The brand's reviews page carries positive testimonials. They cite comfort, less back pain, fewer night sweats, no off-gassing period and kid approval. One reviewer found the bed too firm at first, then it broke in over about two weeks.

The page shows no overall star rating or review count, and third-party editorial coverage is thin (checked September 2026). Watch for the initial firmness and the weight. A Queen weighs 99 lbs for the Original and 134 lbs for the Pillow Top. Use the side handles only for shifting the bed.

Where can you try and buy?

You can buy direct at harvestgreenmattress.com or try a bed at independently owned Harvest Green Experience Center partners. Use the store locator at harvestgreenmattress.com/tools/locations or harvestgreenpartners.com. The brand advises you to confirm the model on display before you travel.

The company is at 3535 W 47th Street, Chicago, IL. You can call 773-893-4675 or email support@harvestgreenmattress.com. The brand doesn't list Amazon or Walmart sales (checked September 2026).

Delivery, setup and removal

Beds are made to order in Chicago, usually built fresh within 1 to 2 business days and shipped with UPS tracking. You pay in full, plus state tax, when you order. Basic doorstep shipping is free on all orders.

Optional White Glove in-home delivery costs a flat $199 per order, with a 4-hour window. It includes setup and, if you want, removal of your old mattress, foundation or box spring in some areas. Bed frames and furniture aren't removed. White Glove beds ship compressed in a box, and the fee is nonrefundable. The brand doesn't publish a delivery date guarantee.

Sleep trial and returns

Direct website orders get a 100-night risk-free trial that starts the day you receive the mattress. There's no minimum number of nights, but the brand asks for a fair trial. Contact the brand and it arranges pickup. There are no restocking or pickup charges on direct orders. You get a full refund after pickup or donation is confirmed.

The mattress must be fit for donation, with no stains, tears, odors or soiling. You get one trial per address, except two Twin XLs for a king. The help center limits the trial to two mattresses per household. Adjustable bases, pillows, sheets and duvet covers aren't refundable. Returned beds are donated to charity or recycled by a third party. Retail partner trial terms vary, so confirm them in writing.

Warranty

The Original, Pillow Top and Vegan models carry a 25-year limited warranty. Essentials carries 10 years, and toppers are covered separately. Years 1 to 10 are full, non-prorated repair or replacement. In years 11 to 25 you pay prorated replacement charges plus shipping. They start at 50% of the original price in year 11 and rise 5% a year to 95% from year 21.

It covers visible indentations of 1 inch or more on a proper base. It also covers latex splitting or cracking under normal use, cover tearing, stitching defects and size variations over 2 inches. It excludes comfort preference, softening, impressions under 1 inch, stains, mold, misuse, improper bases or storage, and purchases from unauthorized resellers.

It's non-transferable and covers the original purchaser only. Claims need proof of purchase, law-tag photos and defect photos or video. An arbitration clause applies.

Harvest Green Mattress vs. other brands

Against Avocado Green, Harvest wins on US factory-direct hand-tufting. Both have 25-year headline warranties on some lines, so that's close. Avocado wins on deeper third-party review coverage and finished-product GOTS and MADE SAFE recognition. Against Naturepedic EOS, Naturepedic wins on full finished-mattress GOTS certification. Harvest wins on price and its zoned-coil pressure relief.

Against Saatva Latex Hybrid and Zenhaven, Saatva wins on White Glove logistics and brand scale. Harvest wins if you want GOLS latex and a hand-built Chicago bed. Against PlushBeds Botanical Bliss, PlushBeds wins on thickness and firmness options. Harvest wins on its try-in-store partner network and coil hybrid feel.
