Comfort King Mattress Review
Comfort King is a family-owned factory-direct maker in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Fargo, North Dakota. It's been around since 1994. It sells 18 hand-built pocketed-coil hybrids from about $308 to $5,776. Warranties run 5 to 15 years. There's a Lifetime Comfort Guarantee, but it's built on paid adjustments, not returns. Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Comfort King publishes ILD-style firmness ratings but no sleep-position guide. We've matched its ratings to standard advice. Side sleepers can look at the softest builds. Those are Divine (18 ILD, tallest and softest), Angelic (24 scale), Harmony, InnerCloud and PillowRest.
Back sleepers can try the medium Goldilocks models. Those are Emerald, Infinity at 30 ILD, Paradise at 24 ILD and Majestic at 29 ILD. Stomach and heavier sleepers should look at firmer zoned builds like EVERest, Diamond, Splendor and Granite. They resist hammocking. Couples who disagree on feel can start with Emerald, which the brand markets as the compromise pick.
Hot sleepers get pocketed coils and airflow-focused FLOWT gel instead of memory foam. No independent cooling test data is published. Custom sizes and Alaskan King are available.
Mattress prices and value
Factory sale tables list five sizes, Twin to Cal King. Classic lists four sizes and no Cal King. Queen prices run Classic $498, Majestic $798, Angelic $898, Splendor $998, Emerald $1,148, Granite $1,298, InnerCloud $1,348 and Harmony $1,386. Then come Diamond $1,898, Infinity $2,062, Oasis $2,294, Paradise $2,349, EVERest $2,444, Endeavor $2,896, Divine $2,964, PillowRest $3,188, Dream-X $3,196 and Dream $4,192.
Twin entry points run $308 (Classic) to $3,284 (Dream). Cal King tops out at $5,776 (Dream). Classic, Majestic and Splendor undercut most national hybrids. Mid-range queens at $1,100 to $2,400 sit near mainstream hybrid prices. FLOWT flagships at $2,300 to $4,200 compete with luxury hybrids, but you don't get a free trial. The brand doesn't publish financing details (checked September 2026).
What are the mattresses made of?
Every model is a pocketed-coil hybrid, and the brand says it makes no foam-core models. Comfy600 coils are in the value and plush models. Comfy800 coils are in the mid and firm models. Comfy2000 has 2,000-plus German-made pocketed springs in a queen. It's 3-zoned on the EVERest.
Comfort layers include PULSE latex foam, FLO FOM, 1.8-lb poly foam and 2.5-inch Mini Comfort Coils. FLOWT Zero-Gravity Gel is a patented coiled pod gel made with Gel Industries of Italy. It debuted in March 2021, and the patent was awarded in 2023. The brand claims it bends with motion, vents air and buffers temperature. Covers are quilted, stretch-fabric or zippered, so you can change comfort later.
The brand doesn't list CertiPUR-US, OEKO-TEX, GOTS or similar certifications (checked September 2026). It doesn't publish cutaway diagrams.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Warranties are brand-reported. Classic gets 5 years. Angelic, Emerald, Granite, Harmony, InnerCloud, Majestic and Splendor get 10 years. Diamond, Divine, Dream, Dream-X, Infinity, Oasis, Paradise and PillowRest get 15 years. The EVERest page shows both 10 and 15 year language. Coverage is 100% non-prorated against workmanship and material defects. The SoftSpot Warranty covers center-third softening, which the brand links to back pain at a 20%-plus threshold. Body impressions under 1.5 inches are excluded, and you pay transportation.
A testimonial video shows a 19-year-old Comfort King still in use, and one owner reports 22 years with foam refreshes. The brand's durability page cites 200,000-pass, 220-lb rollator testing. It also cites Leggett and Platt figures of about 4.9% innerspring-center softening against 20% to 33% for foam. It uses them to argue hybrids outlast foam. We found no independent longevity scores, and long-term sag data beyond the brand's claims isn't published (checked September 2026).
Customer reviews and complaints
The homepage shows a 4.8 rating from 1,000-plus reviews. The Sioux Falls page claims favorite mattress store 11 years running, and Fargo 9 years. The testimonials page is all positive. Themes include 19 and 22 year beds, back-pain relief, same-day firmness fixes and careful delivery crews.
We couldn't verify Google, BBB, Yelp or Facebook scores in September 2026. We found no complaint pattern. The friction is policy-based. You can't return a used mattress for hygiene reasons, and there's no free trial. If you're uncomfortable after delivery, you'll pay for adjustments. A two-store model concentrates service locally, which explains strong local ratings.
Where can you try and buy?
You can only buy through Comfort King. The Sioux Falls store is at 4701 W. Empire Pl., Sioux Falls, SD 57106, phone 605-371-4540. The Fargo store is at 4523 23rd Ave S., Fargo, ND 58103, phone 701-237-9520 or 888-328-KING. Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm.
You can also request a quote at comfortking.net or order by phone or email if you live far from a store. We found no third-party retailers or marketplaces. The showrooms offer in-person Test Rest trials, including FLOWT models. The brand doesn't publish any sibling brands that share its factory (checked September 2026).
Delivery, setup and removal
Comfort King ships where there's no store, and you pay shipping. Costs vary by product and destination, and there's no flat-rate schedule. Custom sizes and shapes usually finish in under two weeks. Local store crews deliver, and reviewers praise polite, on-time crews.
The brand doesn't publish white-glove tiers, setup fees, bedding-removal surcharges or old-mattress haul-away terms (checked September 2026). It urges you to buy the top and base together and warns that a worn base causes early dipping. Power bases and the Comfy Pillow are sold too.
Sleep trial and returns
The brand doesn't publish a sleep trial. We found no night count on its guarantee, warranty or FAQ pages in September 2026. It won't take back a used mattress for hygiene reasons, so there's no refund path.
Instead, the Lifetime Comfort Guarantee lets you change the feel for the life of the warranty, such as 5, 10 or 15 years. Comfort King waives labor, but you pay materials and transport on every adjustment. It doesn't offer this on other brands. Contact the store where you bought for service.
Warranty
Warranty length is 5 years for Classic. It's 10 years for Angelic, Emerald, Granite, Harmony, InnerCloud, Majestic and Splendor. It's 15 years for Diamond, Divine, Dream, Dream-X, Infinity, Oasis, Paradise and PillowRest. The EVERest page shows 10 and 15 year language. The brand doesn't publish Endeavor's warranty years. Coverage is 100% non-prorated for workmanship and material defects, with repair or replacement at the maker's option at no charge.
The SoftSpot Warranty covers center-third softening at a 20%-plus threshold. Ordinary deterioration is excluded, including body impressions under 1.5 inches deep. Comfort preference isn't covered by the warranty, and it's handled by the paid Guarantee. Other brands aren't covered. You contact the original store and pay all transportation. The Lifetime Comfort Guarantee runs for the same period as the warranty.
Comfort King vs. other brands
Against national online hybrids like Saatva Classic and WinkBed, Comfort King wins on in-person testing, custom sizing and lifetime adjustability. It loses on free trials of 100-plus nights, free returns and clear nationwide shipping.
Against Sealy, Serta and Beautyrest, it wins on local service and a simple non-prorated warranty. It loses on how widely it's sold and how many reviews it has. Against memory-foam bed-in-a-box brands like Tempur-Pedic, Nectar and Casper, it wins for hot sleepers who like bounce. It loses on compressed shipping convenience and published cooling certifications.
Choose Comfort King if you live near the stores and want a bed you can tune. Choose a national online brand if you need a risk-free home trial.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
