Anyone who wants a cash refund or in-home trial
Shoppers who need published warranty terms
Buyers who want foam density, fiberglass or fire-barrier details

Pressure-sensitive side sleepers on the Calla or extra-firm Gemma
Best if you want the cheapest new mattress with real retail backup - a showroom to lie on it, free next-day delivery with setup and old-mattress removal on $500+ mattress sets, a price-match guarantee, financing, free showroom pickup and a local store to escalate to - and you accept that your only recourse is an exchange.
Poor fit if you want a cash refund or an in-home sleep trial (R&F mattresses are exchange-only), if you need published warranty terms, foam densities, fiberglass or fire-barrier disclosure, if you want latex or organic materials, or if you are a pressure-sensitive side sleeper (the 7 in Calla and the extra-firm Gemma are the weakest for shoulder and hip relief).

Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
For back and stomach sleepers who want a flat, level surface: Gemma Extra Firm - the firmest option, minimal sink (0.8 in under a 44 lb load in third-party testing) and the strongest support and edge feel, but the least shoulder cushioning. For side sleepers who want contour without giving up support: Gemma Medium Memory Foam - the only all-foam bed in the live line, with the deepest contour and the best pressure relief, but the softest perimeter.
For combination sleepers and couples who want one compromise bed: Gemma Plush or Gemma Plush Euro Top - soft, 12.5 to 14 in, with 884 individually wrapped coils and a moisture-wicking cover; the Euro Top is the cheapest way into the coil line at $469.
For restless sleepers and guest rooms where easy movement matters more than motion control: Willa Medium Euro Top - the most responsive surface (fastest recovery in testing) but it transfers the most motion and has the softest edges. For kids, teens, bunks and trundles: Calla Extra Firm, sold as a youth mattress.
For hot sleepers: stick to the coil Gemma and Willa models with moisture-wicking covers; the memory-foam models ran warmest in third-party temperature testing. Heavy sleepers on a budget should plan to replace sooner rather than later, and anyone needing adjustable firmness should look elsewhere - no Bellanest model is adjustable.

Which Bellanest feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Bellanest publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.
Figure 2.1: Four checks to run in a store, lying still in the position you sleep in most. The store test in chapter 11 says how long to lie on each bed.
Chapter 03
Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.
Bellanest lists 6 models. Feel names are the brand's labels.
Six models are live on the R&F site as of Sept 22, 2026 - Gemma Extra Firm Mattress (SKU 464230019; innerspring; extra firm; 12.5 in; 884 individually wrapped coils, gel-infused memory foam and firm support foam under a moisture-wicking cover; queen $599.00, was $899.00; sizes listed Twin, Full, Queen, Queen Half and Cal King; 4.5 stars from 33 reviews; the brand's firmest, most supportive bed and the top scorer in third-party testing at 4.2/5, best for back and stomach sleepers, weakest for shoulder pressure).
Gemma Plush Mattress (SKU 464230108; innerspring; soft or plush; 12.5 in; 884 individually wrapped coils, gel-infused foam and a moisture-wicking cover that limits partner disturbance; $599.00, was $899.00; sizes Twin XL, Twin, Full, Queen, Half Queen and Cal King; 4.8 stars from 17 reviews).

Calla Extra Firm Mattress (SKU 476123105; foam; extra firm; 7 in; super-soft cover, foam support core and solid edge construction, sold as a youth mattress; from $269.10, was $299.00, the cheapest bed in the brand; sizes listed Trundle, Twin and Full; 4.5 stars from 23 reviews).
Not currently buyable: Dahlia Medium, Dahlia Plush Euro Top, Ivy Faux Eurotop, Imperial Memory Foam and the Deluxe Trundle are no longer listed at Raymour & Flanigan, even though Dahlia and Imperial are covered in January 2026 third-party testing. The 12 in Bellanest Hybrid Firm Mattress in a Box is sold only through the R&F Outlet.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Prices are sale prices, not list: the line runs from $269.10 for the Calla Extra Firm Twin (was $299.00) and $296.10 for the Willa Twin (was $329.00) up to $599.00 each for the Gemma Extra Firm and Gemma Plush queen (both was $899.00), with the Gemma Medium Memory Foam at $435.00 (was $649.00) and the Gemma Plush Euro Top at $469.00 (was $699.00).
Every model carries an Instant Savings badge, so treat the was price as fiction and the sale price as the real price; the R&F Price Match Guarantee covers identical products at competitors.
Value is genuinely low for a store-bought bed - it undercuts nearly every national brand in the same showroom - but you are buying a shallow spec sheet: no foam densities, no coil gauge, no mention of a fire barrier, and a comfort guarantee that requires buying the Platinum Protection plan.
Financing runs through the R&F credit account with promotional no-interest plans advertised up to 72 months on bedding purchases of $1,049 or more, in store only; Platinum Protection mattress coverage starts at $99.95 for five years. Outlet and clearance stock is cheaper still but is final sale with no exchange rights.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Long-term durability is the brand's weakest documented area. No manufacturer durability testing, foam density data or sagging standard is published, and no written Bellanest warranty document could be found, so nothing formally tells you what counts as a defect.
Third-party testing gives the clearest read: Gemma Extra Firm held up best with only 0.8 in of compression under a 44 lb load and the firmest perimeter, Dahlia Medium 1.3 in, Willa 1.6 in with the fastest recovery but the softest edge at 2.2 in of compression, and Imperial Memory Foam the deepest 1.9 in sink with the best motion isolation; the reviewers reported only mild top-layer softening after the first week.
R&F's own AI-generated review summary for the Gemma line notes a few customers reporting early soft spots or a firmness mismatch, and a 2016 complaint on an aggregator reports one-sided sinking. With 7 in and 8 in entry models, expect a shorter service life than a 12 in national-brand bed, and note that using a proper frame and mattress protector is what keeps you inside both the protection plan and any manufacturer coverage.

Chapter 06
Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
Raymour and Flanigan does not give refunds once merchandise is accepted - the return policy states plainly that returns and refunds cannot be processed after acceptance, and mattresses are exchange-only.
The 120-day Mattress Comfort Guarantee is the only trial: it must be attached to a purchased Platinum Protection Plan, the mattress must be slept on for at least 30 days after delivery, and you then have up to 90 further days (120 days from delivery) to reselect one mattress with a store or showroom manager.
There is a limit of one reselection per customer; the replacement must be equal or greater in price and you pay any difference plus tax; the box spring is only replaced if the new mattress is a different brand; law tags must still be attached and the mattress must be sanitary, clean and free of tears, burns or stains; adjustable bases, clearance center merchandise, pillows, mattress protectors and bed frames are excluded from the guarantee; and you pay the original delivery fee plus a delivery fee on the reselected mattress.
Outlet, clearance and floor-sample mattresses are final sale with no exchange. If you refuse or cancel before delivery there is no restocking issue, and for items specifically labelled Free Shipping the general policy allows a return within 72 hours of receipt in new condition and original packaging with a 15 percent restocking fee; special orders forfeit a 20 percent deposit if changed after three days.
A separate consumer guide reports 30-day price protection if your exact model drops in price.

Chapter 07
Delivery, setup and old-mattress removal
Why this matters to you: Delivery terms decide your first week with the bed. Confirm the date, setup and old-bed removal before you pay.
Free next-day mattress delivery, setup and old mattress removal are advertised with any mattress set purchase of $500 or more ordered by 9 p.m., with restrictions noted and details left to the store; the mattress is opened, inspected and prepared before it arrives, the delivery team brings it in, assembles and places it in your room of choice, and will not move your existing furniture.
Old mattress and box spring removal is only offered with the purchase of a new mattress and box spring set, and the crew may refuse bedding deemed unsanitary. Timing depends on zone: in the seven-days-a-week zone (CT, NJ, NY, RI and most of DE, MA, PA) delivery is available seven days a week, the extended-local zone is 1-2 weeks for in-stock items, and VA, NC, SC, GA and FL are served by a contracted carrier in 3-5 weeks.
Pickup is free for all furniture and mattress orders at any R&F showroom. Expect a same-day swap on exchanges, since the crew delivers the replacement and hauls the old bed away in one visit; you pay a redelivery fee on exchanged beds, reported by a consumer guide at $99 to $199 depending on distance, and the Platinum Protection plan makes you responsible for both the original delivery fee and the delivery fee on any replacement mattress.
Typical wait: 1 to 2 weeks

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
There is no standalone Bellanest warranty document, no warranty text in the product page Warranty and Documents section, and no mattress warranty PDF on the R&F site that names Bellanest. The specific Bellanest warranty length and sagging standard are not published as of Sept 2026, so get the manufacturer warranty card in writing at the store before buying.
What does exist: R&F's FAQ says it upholds manufacturer warranties for their specified time frame and, if a covered item cannot be repaired during that period, replaces it with the same model or, if discontinued, lets you choose a replacement, with a one-time usage fee (the greater of 20 percent of the original invoice price or 2 percent per month since delivery) if you want matching pieces replaced too, and replacement acceptance required within 10 days.
Out-of-warranty in-home service visits are available for a charge, manufacturer warranties may be voided by moving or transit damage, and stains, tears or biological soiling can void coverage.
The paid Platinum Protection Plan is a service contract, not a warranty: five years from delivery, accidents and stains only, a mattress protector is supplied and must be used, one stain-related replacement mattress is allowed, and you pay delivery fees on replacements; it is what unlocks the 120-day comfort guarantee. On the plan ladder, five-year mattress protection starts at $99.95.

Chapter 09
Review counts checked on each site · they change daily
Customer reviews and complaints
Why this matters to you: Star ratings depend on who posts and where. Read the low-star reviews for patterns, not just the average.
R&F product pages carry the ratings: Gemma Plush 4.8 from 17 reviews, Willa Medium Euro Top 4.7 from 43, Gemma Plush Euro Top 4.6 from 102, Gemma Medium Memory Foam 4.6 from 102, Gemma Extra Firm 4.5 from 33 and Calla Extra Firm 4.5 from 23 - all healthy scores, but they are first-party reviews with incentivized reviews mixed in by R&F's own disclaimer, and the Gemma models share reviewers and copy.
R&F's attached AI summary says customers value the range of feels, steady support, back-pain relief, sturdy edges, neat stitching and adjustable-base compatibility, with a few noting early soft spots or a firmness mismatch.
Independent testing exists only on Dweva, which scored Gemma Extra Firm 4.2, Dahlia Medium 4.1, Willa Medium Euro Top 3.9 and Imperial Memory Foam 3.8 out of 5 and flagged Willa for motion transfer and edge softness and Imperial for warmth and slow recovery.
Complaints are retailer-level rather than brand-level: Sitejabber shows Raymour and Flanigan at 2.2 out of 5 from 61 reviews, including a mattress buyer who reported a used-looking, sagging bed and was told there are no returns or exchanges without buying the warranty.
Complaint aggregator ComplaintInfo reprints a 2016 Bellanest Mattress review scoring it 2 out of 5 for one-sided sinking and a store complaint naming a Bellanest Royal Super, and summarizes the line as mostly comfortable with some durability complaints.
One caveat: a widely surfaced affiliate blog describes Bellanest as a Mattress Firm house brand at $199 queen with a 5-year warranty - that conflicts with every R&F source and should be treated as unreliable.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Coil models use individually wrapped or open coil systems with coil counts published only as a single number - 884 for the Gemma beds and 440 for the Willa - under gel-infused foam or gel-infused memory foam and, on the Gemma Plush Euro Top, a plush silhouette foam and zoned edge coils. The Gemma Medium Memory Foam pairs gel-infused memory foam with a memory-foam support core and an antimicrobial cover finish.
Comfort layers are listed as CertiPUR-US certified on every current product page, covers are described as moisture-wicking on the coil beds, and every current model lists Made in the USA as an additional feature.
Foam densities, foam layer thicknesses, coil gauge, cover fiber content, fire-barrier chemistry and any fiberglass content are Not published as of Sept 2026, so you cannot compare this line on specs the way you can with direct-to-consumer brands. R&F product pages attribute the Gemma, Willa and Calla collections to vendor Corsicana Bedding. There is no latex, organic-certified or natural-material model, and no mattress is flippable.

Chapter 11
Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.
In person: Raymour and Flanigan showrooms across its Northeast and East Coast footprint - Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, most of Delaware, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, plus parts of Maryland, New Hampshire and Vermont and parts of the extended-local zone - and R&F outlet and clearance locations such as the Niagara Falls Outlet.
The brand catalog page has a See In Store filter and a store selector, and the FAQ confirms most mattresses can be seen in a local showroom while some items are online-only or in-store only; check stock before driving by calling 1.866.383.4484 (option 2).
Online: raymourflanigan.com/mattresses/bellanest-catalog, with the outlet brand filter at /outlet/mattresses-clearance?brand=Bellanest~519964; the online catalog surfaced only three of the six live models on Sept 22, 2026, so several Gemma sizes are effectively store or outlet purchases. Staff can run the in-store Comfort Test and the online Mattress Finder quiz.
No third-party mattress retailer was found selling Bellanest mattresses - it is an R&F exclusive, and Bellanest-branded furniture appearing on unrelated clearance sites is furniture, not bedding.

Chapter 12
Bellanest vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Versus the rest of Raymour and Flanigan's floor: Bellanest is the value house label, undercutting Sealy Essentials, Beautyrest, Serta, Nectar, Helix, Purple, King Koil, Aireloom, Avocado and Tempur-Pedic on price, and it sits below the separate Sleep by Raymour and Flanigan house line; national brands in the same store publish longer trials and 10-year or longer warranties, and their specs are easier to verify.
Versus direct-to-consumer brands such as Nectar, Helix and Saatva, Bellanest loses on policy, not on price - you get no in-home sleep trial, no refund, no published warranty and a thinner spec sheet, while DTC competitors offer 100-night-plus trials, 10-year or lifetime warranties and free returns.
Third-party testers frame it the same way: Nectar Classic as the closer to Imperial Memory Foam, Helix Midnight as the pressure-relief alternative to Dahlia, and Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid as a more developed comfort system than Gemma or Dahlia at a higher price.
Where Bellanest wins is immediacy and local service: same-day showroom testing, free next-day delivery with removal on $500+ sets, price matching, financing, and a physical store to argue with - all things an online-only brand cannot match.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
Chapter 13
How we research and report
This page is an early draft built from our research sheet for Bellanest. We read the brand's own pages and public listings, and we do not test mattresses ourselves. Fields marked "Not yet researched" are still being checked.
Because Bellanest has no website of its own, we used Raymour and Flanigan as the primary source as of Sept 2026: the brand catalog page, the six current product pages with their highlights, description, dimensions, construction, SKU, reviews and sizes, the 120-day Comfort Guarantee page, the Return Policy, the FAQ and the Platinum Protection brochure.
We then checked older model history, which shows the wider former line (Royal Classic, Royal Supreme, Imperial, Rebound, Imagine, Dahlia, Ivy), and added third-party evidence: a hands-on four-model test from Dweva and review and complaint listings from Sitejabber and ComplaintInfo. We left out one unreliable affiliate article's Mattress Firm claims.
We do not buy or lab-test mattresses, so firmness, cooling and durability numbers are reported second-hand with attribution. Prices, stock, sale status and policy terms change constantly and vary by ZIP code and store, so treat every figure here as a starting point and confirm the model, stock, warranty document and comfort guarantee terms in store before paying.

Who actually owns Bellanest?
It is Raymour and Flanigan's private-label brand. R&F lists the brand as Bellanest on every product page, and the Gemma, Willa and Calla collections are attributed to vendor Corsicana Bedding, which builds them.
Is there a real Bellanest website?
