45th Street Bedding Mattress Review

45th Street Bedding is a Seattle family-owned natural latex maker, founded in 2009 by the Garfield family. It lists 28 mattresses, 23 latex and 5 innerspring, from about $1,100 to about $4,500. The Dayton Plush latex runs $1,599.95 to $2,599.95 with a 15-year non-prorated warranty. You won't get a sleep trial or returns. It's best for latex purists who want a two-sided flippable build and can preview in person. The strict no-return policy and thin public certifications are the main caveats.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

The brand doesn't publish position guidance. If you sleep on your side, plush options like Dayton Plush, Winslow Plush, Thackeray Plush and Woodland Park Plush are the logical start. Back and stomach sleepers can look at the firm and extra-firm builds. This is our inference from comfort names, not brand testing.

Heavier sleepers get no weight guidance. The denser 85 and 95 kg/m3 Dayton cores and the Woodland Park flagships are the plausible picks. Hot sleepers have no cooling test data, only the brand's claim of breathable latex and a cotton cover. For kids, Wallingford Kid's Latex and Latona Organic Kids are the explicit picks.

Mattress prices and value

Latex runs from $1,099.95 to $1,299.95 for Wallingford Kid's. Dayton value latex runs $1,599.95 to $2,799.95. Mid lines like Whitman, Meridian, Winslow Elite and Premier Meridian run near $1,399.95 to $3,299.95. Upper lines like Thackeray, Woodlawn Elite and Interlake run near $1,999.95 to $3,799.95. Woodland Park flagships reach $4,199.95. Innersprings run $1,999.95 to $4,099.95.

The two-sided flippable build and 15-year non-prorated warranty add longevity value. Prices sit well above online value latex, though, and you have no trial. These are 2025 listed ranges, and the brand's live site was unavailable when we checked in September 2026, so confirm current pricing.

What are the mattresses made of?

On the Dayton Plush, the brand reports a 100% cotton zippered cover. Two 1-inch CertiPUR quilted foam layers sit on top and bottom. A 6-inch all-natural Botanicore latex core at 75 kg/m3 supports you. A Rayon and Dacron fire barrier is sewn into the cover. It's 8 inches total and works with adjustable bases. Every latex mattress uses a Botanicore core.

The brand claims Eco-Institut certification for Botanicore fill, without a certificate number. It describes Vietnamese botanical latex, with washing, vulcanizing, density testing and tracking. The brand doesn't publish GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX or USDA Organic certificates, latex type, blend percentage or ILD (checked September 2026).

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Mattresses carry a 15-year non-prorated warranty against unusual wear and manufacturing defects, per the brand's policy page. The brand doesn't publish a sag-depth threshold or foundation requirements. We found no independent durability testing.

The brand cites durable tree-rubber latex, uniform support, a flippable design and rigorous quality control. No third-party evidence backs these claims.

Customer reviews and complaints

The Dayton Plush page showed zero reviews in a February 2025 copy. We couldn't check Google, Yelp, BBB, Sleep Foundation or Mattress Clarity ratings in September 2026, so we report no star ratings.

The main risk is the policy itself. It says direct returns and exchanges aren't accepted, and cancellations are allowed only before shipment. Refused shipments may carry extra fees. Defect claims need photos, an authorization number and insured return shipping to Seattle.

Where can you try and buy?

You can buy online at 45thstreetbedding.com. Seattle distribution-center pickup is available 7 days a week, 9am to 4pm, at 1310 N. 131st Street, Seattle, WA 98133. Call (206) 485-3945 first. Independent stockists are listed in the dealer locator. The contact form and (206) 457-8307 also work.

The brand also runs a hospitality and trade division and a retailer program. The Garfield family founded it after 37 years owning the Seattle retailer Bedrooms and More. The footer reads 1972 to 2025 J and W Marketing.

Delivery, setup and removal

Delivery is free across the contiguous United States, per the brand. Orders outside it are priced by a UPS calculator, and you pay customs, duties and taxes. UPS handles most domestic orders. UniShippers quotes larger orders, and NVC Logistics handles white-glove delivery.

Domestic orders ship within 2 business days and international within 4. UPS Ground takes 5 to 7 days coast to coast, and UPS 2-Day is an option. Orders ship Monday to Friday with a 12 PM cutoff, and the brand doesn't ship to PO boxes. The brand doesn't publish white-glove pricing or old-mattress removal.

Sleep trial and returns

You won't get a sleep trial. The brand doesn't accept direct returns or exchanges, citing quality control and testing. Independent stockists may honor their own policies.

For a defective or damaged arrival, photograph the damage and email orders@45thstreetbedding.com. Use the emailed packing slip and authorization number, ship it back insured to Seattle, and wait for inspection. Return shipping on claims is yours to arrange. You can cancel only before the order ships, by email plus a call to (206) 485-3945.

Warranty

Mattresses have a 15-year non-prorated warranty against unusual wear and manufacturing defects. Bedding has 1 year against defects. Furniture has a limited 10-year warranty. Claims go through the photo, authorization and insured-return process to 1310 N. 131st Street, Seattle, WA 98133.

The brand doesn't publish a sag minimum, transferability, foundation requirements, commercial exclusions or per-line warranty documents (checked September 2026).

45th Street Bedding vs. other brands

Against PlushBeds, 45th Street wins on two-sided flippable builds and Seattle pickup. It loses on trial, since PlushBeds offers 100 nights, and on published GOTS and GOLS certificates. Against Savvy Rest, it wins on an entry price near $1,600, but loses on layer customization and published organic certificates.

Against Avocado, it wins on latex-only builds and regional service. It loses on third-party certifications and return terms. Against Saatva Latex Hybrid, it wins on all-latex Botanicore cores and a 15-year non-prorated warranty, but loses on delivery transparency and independent reviews.
