Rested Pillow Mattress Review

Rested Pillow is a Michigan factory-direct mattress maker. It handcrafts hybrids in Grand Ledge and has a showroom in St. Joseph. Sleeping Bear is the value hybrid, in Firm or Plush. Sunny Side adds GOTS organic cotton and wool. It suits you if you want a US-built hybrid and can live with a 100-night exchange promise instead of a refund. You'll also need to buy a protector and a new foundation to keep the coverage.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Choose Sleeping Bear Firm if you sleep on your back or stomach, have a heavier build, want extra lumbar support or have clinician-directed firmness. Choose Sleeping Bear Plush if you sleep on your side, want pressure relief, have a lighter build or like a soft feel.

Choose Sunny Side Luxury Organic for a medium-plush, hand-tufted feel. It has GOTS organic cotton, a wool fire barrier and Serene foam comfort over zoned coils.

Mattress prices and value

Sleeping Bear, Plush or Firm: Twin $1,399, Twin XL $1,399, Full $1,799, Queen $1,899, King $2,499, California King $2,699. Sunny Side Plush: Twin $1,499, Twin XL $1,499, Full $2,199, Queen $2,299, King $2,999, California King $3,199.

The brand frames a Queen at $1,899 over 10 years as $0.52 per night. It advertises financing as less than the cost of daily coffee. These are factory-direct Michigan-made hybrids, not budget imports.

What are the mattresses made of?

Sleeping Bear layers, top to bottom, start with a hand-quilted Modal bio-based cover. Next come 1-inch CertiPUR-US gel cooling foam and 0.5-inch CertiPUR-US quilt foam. Then you get either 2.25-inch 2.4-lb 26 ILD hotel-grade foam (Firm) or 3-inch Serene foam (Plush).

Below that sit 8-inch Multi-Zone Bolsa pocket coils with Quantum Edge. Coil counts are Twin 508, Full 688, Queen 800 and King 992. The base is 1-inch 1.8-lb 32 ILD foam, with a hydrated silica fire barrier.

Sunny Side starts with a GOTS organic cotton blended hand-tufted cover. Then come 1-inch CertiPUR-US gel foam, 0.75-inch CertiPUR-US quilt foam and 3-inch 2.5-lb 12 ILD Serene foam. Under those are 8-inch Bolsa coils with Quantum Edge and 1-inch base foam. A wool plus silica fire barrier finishes it. The brand says its foams are US-made and factory-aired.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The coil counts, 2.4 to 2.5-lb comfort foams, 1.8-lb base foam, tempered steel zoned coils and reinforced Quantum Edge suggest sturdy everyday support. The handcrafted Michigan build points the same way.

The brand does not publish sag limits, indentation thresholds, weight limits or long-term test data (checked September 2026). Its policy page says you need a new foundation to qualify for the warranty.

Customer reviews and complaints

The site shows 93 reviews for Sleeping Bear and 68 for Sunny Side. The Sleeping Bear excerpt shows all 5-star ratings. Other models on the homepage list 9 to 66 reviews. The brand claims a 5-star average on Google and Yelp for 10 years running and calls itself the highest rated mattress store in Michigan. No complaints appear on the site.

The brand does not publish an independent review breakdown or BBB and Consumer Affairs complaint analysis (checked September 2026).

Where can you try and buy?

You can try the beds at the showroom at 1332 Hilltop Rd. Ste. K, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Hours are Tuesday to Friday 11 to 6 ET and Saturday 11 to 4 ET. It's closed Sunday and Monday. Call or text 269-982-1188. The site offers appointment booking and a showroom map.

You can also buy online at restedpillow.com. In-stock best sellers are available for pickup or quick delivery, along with foundations, pillows, protectors and sheet sets. The brand doesn't publish any other retail partners (checked September 2026).

Delivery, setup and removal

Made-to-order builds usually take 7 to 14 weekdays, then 3 to 7 weekdays in boxed transit. Shipping is free across the contiguous US. King and California King carry a $199 freight fee. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada cost extra, and the brand doesn't deliver beyond the US and Canada. Local drop-off within 15 miles is offered on qualifying models.

The brand does not publish white-glove setup, room-of-choice placement or old-mattress removal details (checked September 2026).

Sleep trial and returns

The 100 Night Comfort Guarantee lets you start an exchange no earlier than 21 days after receipt and no later than 100 days after arrival. It's a one-time exchange only. Zipper designs get one 3-inch comfort-layer foam-latex swap for a nominal fee based on market price. Sewn-shut designs get one same-size mattress of equal value at the regular everyday price, and you pay any upgrade difference.

There are no refunds on the mattress. Pillows, bases and sheets are final sale. You'll need the brand's protector and a new foundation. Returned foam must be clean and intact, at your expense. Re-delivery within 15 miles costs $199, and buyers farther away ship back at their own cost.

Closeouts, floor models, clearance, special orders and odd sizes are excluded. You can reach the brand by email or at 269-982-1188.

Warranty

Product pages advertise a 10 Year Warranty for craftsmanship and material flaws, processed through the seller. You need a new foundation to qualify, and defects are handled at the company's discretion.

The brand doesn't publish the full warranty text (checked September 2026). That includes covered defects, the sag-depth threshold, exclusions for comfort preference or foundation issues, prorated versus non-prorated terms and claim steps.

Rested Pillow vs. other brands

Compared with typical bed-in-box online brands, Rested Pillow stresses Michigan handcraft and higher-density comfort foams. It also offers zoned Bolsa coils with Quantum Edge and organic cotton and wool options. You can try a bed in the showroom first. The tradeoff is higher prices and exchange-only terms, so you can't get a refund.

The brand does not publish head-to-head firmness, cooling, motion or durability tests against named competitors (checked September 2026).
