PerformaSleep Mattress Review

PerformaSleep is a US-made, athlete-focused online brand. It sells two all-foam beds (Essentials and 2.0) and one hybrid, priced from $399 to $1,299. You get a 100-night trial, free shipping in the contiguous US and a 10-year limited warranty. The hook is CopperCool, a copper and gel foam. Independent coverage is thin and mostly from 2018 to 2023, and the on-site reviews lean heavily toward five stars. All three beds feel medium or medium-firm, so it's a better match if you want a firmer bed than a plush one.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

The brand splits its line three ways. The Essentials is for budget shoppers, guest rooms and students. It's medium firm, so it suits back, stomach and side sleepers who like a slightly resilient surface over deep hugging.

The 2.0 targets athletes, active people and couples who want pressure relief, cooling and motion isolation. Its Enersorb layer is meant to conform without the quicksand feel of memory foam. The Hybrid adds 7 in of wrapped coils with reinforced edges, so it suits hot sleepers, couples and anyone who sits near the edge.

Your choices are limited to medium and medium-firm. The brand doesn't publish weight guidance, so sleepers over roughly 250 lb get no extra-support build. The only load figures are foundation capacities of 600 lb (Twin and Twin XL), 850 lb (Full and Queen) and 1,200 lb (King and California King). Mattress Advisor rated the older 11 in model medium-firm, 6 of 10. All three beds pair with the brand's Adjustable Base and Breeze Foundation.

The Hybrid runs Twin $749, Twin XL $849, Full $999, Queen $1,199, King $1,299 and California King $1,299.

A 20% sitewide sale and up to 30% off a qualifying three-item bundle were live that day. Treat the listed prices as ceilings. Accessories include a 4 in Cooling Topper at $149 to $219. A 4-Chamber Adjustable Pillow is $99 (Queen single), $179 (Queen two-pack), $129 (King single) or $209 (King two-pack). A CopperCool Cooling Gel Pillow is $119 (Queen) or $149 (King). Tencel Cooling Sheets are $115 to $175, a Breeze Foundation is $429 to $699 and an Adjustable Base is $599 to $1,099. Financing is promoted at as low as 0% APR for up to 12 months, and the provider isn't named. A free account earns 500 points at signup and 1 point per $1 spent.

At these prices you don't get white-glove delivery, old-mattress removal, an in-store trial or an exchange program. Pillows and Tencel sheets can't be returned. The brand doesn't publish a price history or a price-match policy. In 2018 and 2019, Mattress Advisor listed the older 11 in model at $525 (Twin) to $975 (King). Garage Gym Reviews listed $995 in November 2023.

What are the mattresses made of?

All three beds are polyurethane foam builds, handcrafted in the USA. The brand says the foams are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning no ozone depleters, formaldehyde, lead or other heavy metals, and low VOC. The foam is made in Georgia. The current FAQ says cover materials are sourced internationally, while an earlier version said South Carolina.

CopperCool is the brand's name for copper particles plus gel in the top layer. The brand says it dissipates heat and wicks moisture. Enersorb is described as giving memory-foam relief without slow recovery, and as more breathable than memory foam or latex. The Hybrid's coil count, gauge and diameter aren't published.

The brand doesn't publish foam densities for current models, only layer thicknesses. For the older 11 in model, Garage Gym Reviews listed 2 in CopperCool foam at 4 lb density and 10 ILD. It listed 2 in Enersorb at 4 lb and 15 ILD, and 7 in base foam at 1.8 lb and 36 ILD. Mattress Advisor recorded an 88 lb queen. Treat those numbers as dated. The cover is spot clean or dry clean only, never machine washed. The 4 in topper is OEKO-TEX and CertiPUR-US certified. The mattresses carry no organic, latex or Greenguard Gold claims.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

There's no independent durability test for the current lineup. The brand's own line is a 1.5 in indentation threshold in the warranty. Mattress Advisor tested the older 11 in model and scored durability 7.5 of 10, its lowest score. Its other scores were edge support 8.1, motion transfer 8, pressure relief 8, responsiveness 9.5, spinal alignment 9 and cooling 9, for 8.6 of 10 overall.

Garage Gym Reviews slept on the bed for over a year and saw no stitching failures or sagging. It rated construction, comfort and durability 4.5 of 5 each, but the article was last updated on November 7, 2023. A few four-star owners on the brand's site reported a slight indentation (July 2021), a lump near the foot (October 2021) and deep edge sink (April 2021).

The foam beds need a flat, solid foundation, and the brand warns that poor support can void the warranty. Coverage becomes prorated from month 19. You won't find multi-year durability data for the current Essentials, 2.0 or Hybrid.

Customer reviews and complaints

The review pool behind all three mattress pages returns 924 reviews at 4.90 of 5, with 834 five-star and 90 four-star ratings. The page widget shows 937 reviews. There are no one, two or three-star reviews at all, so treat the score as feedback the brand collected, not a balanced sample. Reviews run from 2019 to September 20, 2026. Owners praise back, neck and shoulder pain relief, easy setup, quick shipping, service and value.

Complaints sit inside four-star reviews. They include a strong chemical smell that lingered for months (May 2021 and October 2020). Others mention sleeping hot (September 2019 to December 2021), deep edge sink, a lump at the foot and promotional free pillows that never arrived (May and August 2020). Garage Gym Reviews rated the bed 4.5 of 5 but said cooling only partly held up and the names sound gimmicky. Mattress Advisor gave 8.6 of 10 in 2018 and 2019.

We found no BBB, Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs, Sitejabber or GoodBed page for the brand as of September 22, 2026. Buyers who want a firmer foam bed for back pain tend to be happy. Buyers who bought mainly for cooling are the likeliest to be disappointed.

Where can you try and buy?

You can only buy online at performasleep.com. We found no showroom, dealer or third-party retail listing as of September 22, 2026. The brand's location page is empty, and an Amazon and Walmart search returned no PerformaSleep products. Wayfair couldn't be checked. The brand once sold in person at fitness events, such as Wodapalooza in Miami in 2016, and uses CrossFit athlete endorsements. Those are marketing, not stores.

A wholesale page invites retailers, hospitality groups, fitness facilities and other organizations to apply. There are also affiliate and rewards programs. Support is email only at support@performasleep.com, with a stated reply target of 24 business hours. The site lists no phone number or street address. You can't lie on a bed before buying. The 100-night home trial is your only test. It needs a 30-night minimum use period before you can ask for a return.

Delivery, setup and removal

Shipping is free in the contiguous US. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada are excluded. The brand's timelines don't agree. The shipping page says labels usually go out the next business day, fulfillment can take up to 3 business days, then 1 to 5 days in transit. Product pages and the banner say 3 to 5 business days, and the FAQ says 2 to 4. The shipping page names UPS, while the FAQ says FedEx.

The bed arrives compressed and boxed. No assembly service is offered. Two people should carry the box in, and one can finish setup. The brand recommends 8 to 10 hours before sleeping, though you can sleep on it right away. An earlier FAQ listed the box as 20 x 21 x 40 in. Place the mattress on slats, a box spring, the Breeze Foundation, the Adjustable Base or the floor.

The Breeze Foundation is a tool-free platform frame with a 5-minute assembly and 13 in height. The brand doesn't offer haul-away or recycling for your old bed. It only collects its own mattress when a trial return is approved. Plan on a two-person, do-it-yourself setup.

Sleep trial and returns

Every mattress comes with a 100-night trial. An older About page said 90 days, so go with 100 nights. You must sleep on the bed at least 30 nights before asking for a return. Returns cost you nothing published. The brand sends a courier, allows up to 2 weeks to schedule pickup, and refunds the mattress price in full within 5 to 10 business days after pickup. If funds don't show after 10 business days, contact your bank.

Start a return by emailing support@performasleep.com. There's no phone line or return portal. Pillows and the Tencel Cooling Sheet Set are non-refundable and can't be returned. The brand doesn't publish return terms for the topper, Breeze Foundation or Adjustable Base. It doesn't publish an exchange program either, so the only path for the wrong firmness is a full return. No restocking, shipping or disposal fee is mentioned.

Warranty

You get a 10-year limited warranty as the original purchaser. It isn't transferable, and you'll need proof of purchase. Claims go to support@performasleep.com. It covers material defects, including an indentation over 1.5 in. It also covers an edge more than 1 in out of spec on a flat, solid surface. Foam splitting, cracking or degradation under normal use counts too.

Repair or replacement is prorated. You get 100% coverage in the first 18 months, 80% in months 19 to 36, 60% in months 37 to 60, 40% in months 61 to 96, and 20% in months 97 to 120. Not covered are indentations under 10% of the mattress height, slight softening, stains, spills, cuts, tears, normal wear and health or allergy claims. The mattress needs a solid, flat foundation.

The brand also sells Extend accident protection in 3-year, 5-year and 10-year terms. It covers cuts, punctures, tears, rips and stains, with 24/7 claims support. The brand publishes no warranty terms for pillows, sheets, the topper, the Breeze Foundation or the Adjustable Base.

PerformaSleep vs. other brands

PerformaSleep competes as an athlete and recovery bed in a box, closest to Bear. Garage Gym Reviews compared it with Casper and Tuft & Needle on convenience and price. The $599 Essentials queen undercuts Casper, Nectar and Leesa entry queens. The $1,149 2.0 queen and $1,199 Hybrid queen sit mid-market, below Saatva, Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number.

A 100-night trial and 10-year warranty match mainstream brands such as Casper and Leesa. They're shorter than Saatva, which publishes a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty, and the 30-night minimum is stricter than most. There's no latex or organic option, so it isn't a substitute for Avocado, Sleep on Latex or Saatva Latex Hybrid. It also has no zoned or adjustable firmness, unlike Helix, Brooklyn Bedding or Sleep Number.

For cooling, it competes with Bear, Brooklyn Bedding (Aurora) and Tempur-Pedic (Breeze), but its cooling isn't independently tested. Choose it if you want a firmer all-foam feel at a low listed price. Choose Saatva, Nectar, Bear, Leesa or Sleep on Latex if you need a longer trial or a softer or latex option. They also fit if you want in-home setup, haul-away or a phone number. Saatva includes free white-glove setup and removal, and Amerisleep has showrooms.

How we put this review together

We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy

Is PerformaSleep a real, operating brand?

Yes. As of September 22, 2026, the site is live and selling, and reviews run through September 20, 2026. The brand dates back to at least January 2016.

How much does a PerformaSleep mattress cost?

List prices are $399 to $699 for the Essentials, $699 to $1,249 for the 2.0 and $749 to $1,299 for the Hybrid, depending on size. A 20% sitewide sale and up to 30% off a three-item bundle often lower the price.

What is the trial and return deal?

You get 100 nights with a 30-night minimum use period. A courier picks the bed up for free, and the mattress price is refunded in 5 to 10 business days. Pillows and Tencel sheets can't be returned. Terms for a topper, foundation or base aren't published.

What are the firmness options, and who should pick which?

There are only two feels. The Hybrid is medium, and the Essentials and 2.0 are medium-firm. You can't get plush, firm, zoned or adjustable. Budget and guest-room buyers usually pick the Essentials, athletes and couples the 2.0, and hot sleepers or edge-sitters the Hybrid.

Can I try one in a store?

No. It's sold online only, and we found no showrooms, dealers or retail listings. The home trial is your only way to test one.

Is the cooling claim independently proven?

No. CopperCool is the brand's own claim. Some four-star owners still report sleeping hot, and we found no third-party temperature test for the current models.

How current is the independent testing?

It's dated. The strongest reviews are a 2018 and 2019 Mattress Advisor test of a model the brand no longer sells. The other is a Garage Gym Reviews article last updated on November 7, 2023. Ask the brand for current specs and confirm the 30-night rule before you buy.
