Idle Sleep Mattress Review
Idle Sleep (Halo Belling, LLC, founded 2018, Colorado Springs, CO) sold two-sided flippable hybrid, latex and gel foam mattresses from about $655 to $4,766. It offered an 18-month trial and a lifetime warranty. You can't buy from it now. The brand has stopped trading, and idlesleep.com is a parked GoDaddy page as of September 2026. GoodBed lists all eight models as discontinued, and Mattress Clarity's 2026 updates say Idle Sleep is no longer in business. This page is mainly useful if you own one or you're weighing a used bed.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Mattress Clarity and Mattress Nerd found the Idle Hybrid medium or luxury firm (7/10) suits back and stomach sleepers, because it keeps your hips level. The luxury firm latex hybrid does the same. If you sleep on your side, you'd get only decent pressure relief from the medium hybrid. Reviewers steered them to the softer Idle Plush or a plusher rival. Combination sleepers liked the fast-responding buoyancy foam.
Sleepers over 230 lb were told the hybrid feels about 7.5/10 and works best in luxury firm. Sleepers of 300 to 500 lb were told to look firmer. Sleepers under 130 lb may find the hybrid too firm. Hot sleepers do well on any model, thanks to the coils and breathable buoyancy foam with no visco-elastic chemicals.
If you share a bed, weigh the hybrid's weaker motion isolation against the all-foam models, which isolate motion better. If you're eco-minded, pick the latex hybrid. By model, the Idle Hybrid is about 7/10 (firmer than average) or luxury firm. The Idle 12 in is roughly 5.5 to 6.5. The Idle Plush 14 in is soft. The latex hybrid is medium or luxury firm per side.
Mattress prices and value
These are 2021 list prices. Queen sizes were $995 for the Idle Plush, $1,390 for The Idle 12 in, $2,768 (Dunlop) or $3,229 (Talalay) for the Idle Latex Hybrid, and $3,099 for the Idle Hybrid. Mattress Nerd's all-foam charts ran $449 to $949 for the 12 in and $799 to $1,499 for the 14 in. There isn't any current pricing because the brand doesn't sell anymore.
The site ran near-permanent promotions. They included up to 25 to 50% off, 2 free pillows, and 30% off plus 2 memory foam pillows on the hybrid. Its comparison page claimed prices averaged 61% lower than competitors. Financing offered 0% APR for up to 60 months, SatisFi split payments, and lease-to-own from about $9 per month.
The flippable build was unusual and doubled the usable surface. The 18-month trial and lifetime warranty beat industry norms. But list prices sat at or above rivals. Mattress Clarity noted the hybrid cost about $200 more than the Purple mattress. The brand's collapse in the early 2020s wiped out any remaining warranty, so you can't count on it if you buy used.
What are the mattresses made of?
The Idle Hybrid has a Thermocool cover quilted with 1 in of contouring foam. Each side has 2 in of Idle Cooling Buoyancy Foam over 1 in of transition foam. The brand says the buoyancy foam gives up to 4x better pressure relief than memory foam. A shared 6 in core holds 1,000 quantum-wrapped pocketed coils, versus a typical 300. The layers mirror on the reverse side. The foams are CertiPUR-US certified. It stands 14 in tall and a Queen weighs 127 lb.
The Idle Latex Hybrid uses 100% organic cotton, wool and natural latex (Dunlop or Talalay) over a 1,000-coil core. The brand says there's no glue and no toxins, and that it's hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial and dust-mite resistant. It's 14 in tall.
The Idle 12 in has a removable washable cotton zip cover and a cotton fire barrier. Below that are 3 in of gel-infused Cooling Buoyancy Foam, a 2 in ventilated transition layer and 7 in of 2.4 lb support foam. The Idle Plush 14 in has an Ice Fabric cover with 1 in of buoyancy foam. Under that are 2 in of gel-infused buoyancy foam, 3 in of gel-infused memory foam and an 8 in core. The brand published CertiPUR-US on the hybrid foams. It didn't publish Greenguard Gold, GOLS or GOTS certification.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The brand marketed the flippable design as doubling mattress life. The warranty covers visible impressions deeper than 1.75 in on The Idle and Idle Plush, and 1.5 in on the Hybrid and Latex Hybrid. Mattress Clarity rated the hybrid very durable because flipping and rotating prevents early sagging. Mattress Nerd advises flipping two to three times a year.
Both reviewers found weak edge support, since the foam collapsed near the edge. They also found weak motion isolation on the hybrid, so you'd feel your partner move. They noted the coils and buoyancy foam sleep cool. One owner on Idle's own reviews page said a Cal King still felt new after two years with a 250 lb sleeper. We found no RTINGS, Consumer Reports or other independent lab durability testing. With the company closed, no warranty-backed support exists.
Customer reviews and complaints
Idle's own site showed 4.7/5 from 2,095 customer reviews (archived copy from September 2021). Testimonials praised back pain relief, cool sleep and flippability. Mattress Clarity rates the hybrid well for support and durability but flags poor edge support, noticeable motion transfer and slight off-gassing. Its gel foam write-up lists complaints about a strong chemical smell on unboxing. Mattress Nerd's reviews (updated June 2026) are broadly positive on construction and value, with the same motion-transfer caveat. GoodBed lists the brand as discontinued.
Sitejabber has two reviews, both negative. A February 2021 review describes collapsing support, springs poking at the sides and offshore call-center service. An August 2021 review alleges a used, stained latex hybrid was sold as new for $2,995.92. Product satisfaction was generally high, but fulfillment, service and quality-control complaints clustered in 2020 and 2021, just before the brand disappeared. The brand's BBB rating and Trustpilot score weren't available when we checked in September 2026, because both sites were unavailable to us.
Where can you try and buy?
You can't buy Idle Sleep new. It was an online-only brand, and idlesleep.com is now a parked page. Phone lines were (888) 488-4353 and customer care (888) 986-4047. The archived store locator showed 0 shops. The corporate address was 3609 Austin Bluffs Pkwy Ste 31-1019, Colorado Springs, CO 80918-6658. The legal entity is Halo Belling, LLC, with parent companies Idle Companies, LLC and Idle Group Asia, LLC (Vietnam). The same company developed Sleep Country Living, Haven and Eden Sleep.
Amazon carried no Idle Sleep mattresses on September 22, 2026. The Walmart, eBay and Wayfair checks were unavailable to us. The practical route today is secondhand marketplaces, where warranties don't transfer.
Delivery, setup and removal
Shipping was free in the US by UPS Ground or FedEx, typically 4 to 10 business days. Product pages said 2 to 6 business days, and marketing promised shipping within 3 days. Latex models had a 4 to 6 week lead time. Beds arrived compressed in a box, and you'd wait a few hours for them to expand. Mattresses and accessories shipped separately.
White Glove delivery with in-home setup cost extra. The fee became non-refundable once the order was processed. There wasn't an old-mattress removal program. Returned mattresses were coordinated for local donation or disposal. They'll work on any firm, flat surface, foundation, slatted frame, platform bed or adjustable base.
Sleep trial and returns
Idle offered an 18-month (540-day, marketed as up to 548 nights) trial, then the longest in the industry. You could return a bed anytime between night 30 and night 540. Idle coordinated free pickup for donation or disposal and gave a full refund with no restocking fees. You needed photos of the product and law tag. Abuse, stains, burns, cuts or liquid damage meant a bed couldn't be returned. Accessories weren't refundable once shipped.
Exchanges were free but limited to the same model and size. The replacement mattress carried no trial, only the lifetime warranty. Keeping a bundle or promotion item cut the refund by 20%. Mattress Nerd's older review text cites a 120-day trial, so terms changed over time. All of this is history. With the brand closed, you don't have a trial or return process to use today. It isn't something a used seller can pass on to you.
Warranty
The Warranty Without End was a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser only. It wasn't transferable and needed a receipt. It covered visible indentations over 1.75 in on The Idle and Idle Plush. On the Idle Hybrid and Idle Latex Hybrid the limit was 1.5 in. Your base had to be supportive. It also covered foam that splits or cracks, cover defects and spring defects.
It excluded comfort preference after the 18-month trial, abuse, burns, cuts, liquid damage and stains. You weren't covered if you bought from an unauthorized reseller. It didn't cover mattresses from unauthorized resellers, or as-is, reconditioned or used mattresses. Adjustable bases carried a 10-year replacement warranty and foundations 2 years. Mattress Nerd says owners shipped the mattress to Idle and got up to $100 back for shipping if a defect was confirmed.
No successor has announced it will honor claims. If you own one, it's safest to treat the warranty as unenforceable as of September 2026.
Idle Sleep vs. other brands
Against Purple, Mattress Clarity found the Idle Hybrid firmer (7/10 versus 6.5/10). It suited back, stomach and heavier sleepers better, but cost about $200 more. Purple was better for side-sleeper pressure relief. Against the DreamCloud Hybrid, Idle's own page listed DreamCloud at $1,399 with a 1.5 in sag threshold. Mattress Clarity's 2026 update now recommends DreamCloud as the replacement.
Idle's table listed the Casper Wave at $2,595 and the Purple Hybrid at $1,599. Idle claimed lower prices, an 18-month trial and a flippable build that both rivals lacked. For latex, Mattress Clarity points shoppers to the Saatva Latex Hybrid. Idle's edge there was the Dunlop or Talalay choice and dual-firmness sides.
Its wins were two-sided construction, the long trial, a non-prorated lifetime warranty, an organic latex option and free shipping. Its losses were weak edge support, mediocre motion isolation, list prices at or above rivals and thin service. The biggest loss is that it closed, so rivals with living warranties win by default.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy
Can I still buy an Idle Sleep mattress?
No. The brand has stopped trading and idlesleep.com is a parked GoDaddy page as of September 22, 2026. GoodBed lists all models as discontinued, and Mattress Clarity's 2026 updates say Idle Sleep is no longer in business. Only secondhand listings may remain.
What models did Idle Sleep sell?
The final 2021 lineup had four beds. They were the flippable 14 in Idle Hybrid and the 14 in Idle Latex Hybrid in Dunlop or Talalay. The 12 in gel foam The Idle and the 14 in Idle Plush completed it, plus accessories. GoodBed's archive lists eight discontinued models, including 14 in Air, All Foam and 12 in Dual Firmness versions.
How much did they cost?
2021 list prices ran from $655 (Twin Idle Plush) to $4,766 (Split King Talalay latex hybrid). Queen prices were $995 (Idle Plush), $1,390 (The Idle), $2,768 to $3,229 (Latex Hybrid) and $3,099 (Idle Hybrid), before frequent 25 to 50% promotions.
What were the trial and warranty?
An 18-month (540-day) home trial with free returns after 30 nights. The non-transferable lifetime Warranty Without End covered sag over 1.5 in (hybrid and latex) or 1.75 in (foam models).
Are those warranties still honored?
There's no evidence of it. The company has stopped operating, no successor has announced it will honor claims, and the warranty wasn't transferable. Owners should assume no support.
What should I buy instead?
Mattress Clarity's 2026 updates steer hybrid shoppers to DreamCloud, foam shoppers to Nectar and latex shoppers to the Saatva Latex Hybrid. Flippable two-sided designs are rare, so check any current brand's trial and warranty carefully.
