E.S. Kluft Mattress Review
E.S. Kluft is an ultra-luxury American maker of made-to-order mattresses. It's a sibling brand to Aireloom. You'll find hand-tufted beds built with TerraPur latex and Marshall coils, sold through exclusive dealers. The brand's site doesn't publish prices or a sleep trial. A 10-year guarantee headlines, and dealer terms govern the rest. It's best for luxury showroom shoppers like you. The caveat is that everything hinges on the dealer you buy from.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
If you sleep on your side, the brand steers you to Plush builds: Divine Luxe, Imperial, Royal Ascent, Marquise and Duchess Plush. Back sleepers get Luxury Firm builds: Regalia, Monarch, Princess, Duchess Luxury Firm and Eminence Firm. Stomach sleepers and anyone wanting firm support should look at Baron Extra Firm, Viscount Firm and Eminence Extra Firm or Firm.
The brand publishes no plus-size line. If you're a heavier sleeper, test the 14.5in hand-tufted builds (Monarch, Imperial, Royal Ascent) in a store. Hot sleepers get a horsehair, wool, cotton and latex temperature-regulation story across the line. There's no phase-change cooling line beyond the Celsion Talalay descriptions. Couples get a pocketed Marshall coil and hand-tufting motion-damping story, with no published motion-isolation scores.
All guidance is brand-level feel naming, not clinical. Use a dealer fitting and the retailer's trial terms to decide.
Mattress prices and value
The brand site doesn't publish mattress prices (checked September 2026). It shows collections, specs and a retailer locator. The only dollar figure on the official pages we checked is an arbitration-claim threshold in the Terms. Dealers set all prices, so confirm the delivered price per model, size and foundation at the store.
The brand is ultra-luxury and made to order. Hand-tufting, TerraPur latex, horsehair, cashmere and 8-way hand-tied foundations price it against flagship luxury like Stearns and Foster Lux Estate, Aireloom Karpen and Vispring. You pay for craftsmanship and natural materials, not for a trial, certification or spec transparency. The brand pages don't publish financing, promotions or a price-match policy.
What are the mattresses made of?
The line is built innerspring-first, as a hybrid (per the brand). Quilts are Belgian Jacquard Damask with silk, wool, cashmere or alpaca blends, HiLoft FR fibers, quilting foams and a cotton tricot or stretch-knit backing. Below that sit TerraPur natural Talalay-style latex in plush through firm grades, some zoned. You'll also find Aireluxe foams, slow-recovery visco and 8 lbs cotton layers. Horsehair or horsetail, wool, alpaca and organic cotton round out the comfort layers. Flagships add 19-gauge micro-coils (Queen 1872, King 2400 per the brand).
Under that are Original Marshall pre-compressed, muslin-wrapped pocketed coils. They're 15.5 gauge nested calico, or 16/15/16 gauge nested zoned on Baron, Eminence and Viscount. Perimeters are high-density or latex-encased. The patented Kluft Standard air-chamber design and hand-tufting with wool rosettes compress the comfort layers. The brand says this cuts adhesive use and body impressions. Foundations are a wood stabilizer or an 8-way hand-tied coil with Italian twine, matched per model.
The fire barrier is naturally derived cellulose and silica fiber, not a chemical spray (brand claim). The brand claims CertiPUR-US foams through the CertiPUR site listing. It says its fabrics and latex come from Oeko-Tex certified suppliers, but it publishes no certificate IDs. The brand states the mattresses aren't organic. It doesn't publish coil counts beyond the micro-coil figures, foam densities, ILDs or latex blend ratios (checked September 2026).
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Durability evidence is the brand's own word plus warranty paper. The FAQ says Kluft mattresses last 10 to 15 years with normal use, versus 8 to 10 for the industry standard. Hand-tufting and tempered Marshall coils are claimed to resist sag and shifting. The FAQ calls body impressions up to 1.5 inches normal, not a warranty concern.
The August 2026 warranty card assigns law-tag codes. K1 is 10 years with a 1.5in impression limit. K2 is 10 years with a 0.75in limit. K3 is 15 years total, 10 non-prorated plus 5 prorated, at 1.5in. K4 is 20 years total, 10 plus 10, at 1.5in. C2 is a 5-year comfort-pad cover. We found no independent durability testing, such as a bed-cutting inspection or standardized sag test. Owner-reported longevity isn't gathered anywhere, and the public review pool is thin.
Customer reviews and complaints
The review pool is thin. The brand site's review widgets show only a handful of 5-star owner reviews, in Chinese, praising support, comfort and white-glove delivery. Owners self-rated quality and value 5 of 5. We saw no negative brand-site reviews. We found no Kluft review on Sleepopolis (Aireloom only), Sleep Foundation, NapLab, Mattress Clarity or Sleep Advisor. The BBB rating and complaint count weren't available (checked September 2026).
Before you buy, watch for these complaint themes. Dealer pricing is opaque because there are no MSRPs. Retailer trials can blur comfort exchange and refund expectations. Body-impression disputes can come up at the 0.75in versus 1.5in code thresholds. Foundation and frame spec disputes are another risk.
Where can you try and buy?
The brand's site has no direct checkout. You buy through exclusive retail locations found with the store locator. Named channels are Bloomingdale's (exclusive Beyond Luxury, Signature, Royal Sovereign and Crown lines with BioCeramics), Sit 'n Sleep and Mancini's Sleepworld.
Its sibling brand, Aireloom, shares the E.S. Kluft & Company factories, per the official FAQ. Those factories are in Pennsylvania (East Coast), California (West Coast) and Texas (Central). You can contact the brand at info@eskluft.com or 11096 Jersey Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Confirm live dealers, addresses and hours before you go.
Delivery, setup and removal
These beds are handcrafted and made to order. The brand doesn't publish lead times (checked September 2026). Dealers run fulfillment. Owner reviews mention white-glove-style placement, but the brand publishes no shipping method, cost, speed or old-mattress-removal terms.
The warranty enforces support specs. You need rigid center support with legs to the floor on Full, Queen and King frames. Or you need at least 5 hardwood slats (1x4) with center floor supports. A matching Kluft foundation is recommended, either a wood stabilizer or an 8-way hand-tie by model. Most models work with adjustable bases, so confirm yours with the retailer. Platform beds are allowed with proper support. Use deep-pocket sheets for 14 to 15.5in heights. You must use a mattress protector, because stains void the warranty.
Sleep trial and returns
The brand site publishes no sleep trial, return, exchange or refund policy (checked September 2026). We looked at the FAQ, Terms and warranty pages. The Terms reserve order correction or cancellation with a refund for pricing errors only.
Your selling dealer sets all trial and return rules, whether that's Bloomingdale's, Sit 'n Sleep or an independent. Confirm the trial nights, exchange versus return, pickup versus donation, and any restocking or transport fees. Warranty claims go through your dealer, with your original receipt and law-tag serial. You pay transport costs in every case, per the warranty card.
Warranty
The warranty registration page says all Kluft products carry a 10-year guarantee. You must register within one month of purchase. The August 2026 warranty card details the law-tag codes. K1 is 10 years, non-prorated, covering impressions over 1.5in. K2 is 10 years, covering impressions over 0.75in. K3 is 15 years total, 10 non-prorated plus 5 prorated, at 1.5in. K4 is 20 years total, 10 plus 10, at 1.5in. C2 is a 5-year comfort pad that covers only a split or cracked filling.
It covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Kluft repairs or substitutes the same or a similar item, at its option. You pay transport and need the original receipt and law tag. It excludes comfort preference, impressions within limits and fabric or tufting cosmetics. Stains, unsanitary condition, abuse, burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage, improper cleaning and wrong-foundation damage are out too. The brand doesn't publish which code goes with which model (checked September 2026), so match the law tag at purchase.
E.S. Kluft vs. other brands
Against Aireloom, its sibling from the same factories, Kluft shares Marshall-coil handcraft. Kluft leans on Belgian damask, TerraPur latex and horsehair or cashmere luxury. Aireloom leans on its own Karpen and latex collections. Both are dealer-driven with opaque pricing.
Against Stearns and Foster Lux Estate and Beautyrest Black, it's a comparable luxury innerspring showroom play. Kluft wins on its exotic natural fiber stack. It trails on published specs and national review visibility. Against Vispring and Hastens, you get American hand-tufted natural luxury at a lower price than European heritage names. It has thinner heritage documentation and no brand trial. Against Avocado and Naturepedic, it loses on organic certification, since Kluft states it isn't organic.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
