Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Side sleepers who want pressure relief should look at Plush options. The best bets are Origin models with 4-inch Serene foam plus Talalay and alpaca (Happiness, Opulence, Aerie), or the Cloverfield Plush Ascend. Back and stomach sleepers who want support should look at Firm options. Eminence is extra-firm graphite memory foam plus Omalon. Ashford or Sierra Firm Ascend work too.
Hot sleepers, you'll find Origin builds that vent through open Honeycomb coils, micro-coils instead of bulk poly foam, graphite-enhanced latex and silver fiber. But the brand doesn't publish comparative cooling test data. Couples may find that pocketed and micro-coil units plus button tufting limit motion transfer. Confirm that in the store.
Heavy sleepers get commercial-grade tempered coils as the support story. But the brand doesn't publish weight limits, ILD or density specs. For odd sizes, you can get Flex Head Queen or King for adjustable bases. There's also an oversized Ozark King (108x84) and Grand Ozark King (120x80). All guidance here comes from the brand's own copy. We found no independent firmness or pressure-mapping tests (checked September 2026).
Mattress prices and value
These are starting prices from official variant data in September 2026, with queen in parentheses. Oliver starts at $399.99. Mercer Firm and Plush start at $599.99. Waverly Firm, Hybrid and Plush start at $899.99. Barclay Firm, Hybrid and Plush and Revington Firm and Plush start at $1,299.99 (Barclay Hybrid queen $1,499.99). The Barclay Hybrid Flexhead bundle starts at $2,499.99.
Palisade Hybrid and Logan Firm and Plush Ascend start at $1,999.99 (Logan queen $2,499.99). Sierra Ascend starts at $2,399.99 (queen $2,999.99). Ashford Ascend starts at $2,499.99 (queen $3,199.99). Cloverfield Ascend starts at $3,299.99 (queen $3,799.99). Tranquility, Serenity Hybrid and Felicity Origin start at $3,699.99 (queen $5,499.99).
Origin queens run higher. Aurora queen is $5,400 (range $4,400 to $11,100). Eminence queen is $6,399.99 ($5,399.99 to $12,800). Happiness queen is $7,399.99 ($6,399.99 to $13,000). Opulence queen is $7,400 ($6,400 to $14,800). Aerie queen is $20,000 ($15,000 to $40,000).
We saw a fall promo of $1,000 store credit with any Foreverbed, in-store only through Sept 19, plus a 0% financing banner for up to 60 months. Value line prices run above bed-in-a-box rivals but include a factory-direct build. Origin pricing ($5,400 to $20,000 for a queen) matches ultra-luxury peers and adds a lifetime warranty and lifetime comfort service. But review depth and spec openness lag peers at these prices.
What are the mattresses made of?
The shared Foreverbed stack, per official product copy, starts with a Honeycomb innerspring of about 1,030 tempered 8-inch coils with six turns in a hexagonal layout. On top sits 4-inch Carpenter Serene foam. It's got ventilated cells and a stable feel across temperatures, and the brand claims pressure relief at 4x standard memory foam.
Micro-coils under 1.25 inches replace bulk poly foam. They include Leggett and Platt units and a Bloom Nano version. You also get graphite-enhanced Talalay latex and Omalon foam with oval cells on select models. Other layers are multiple alpaca fleece layers, a Belgian silk-wool woven cover, and silver-infused fiber under the top and sides. Hand-set button tufting (rosette, ribbon, felt washer) locks the fill and curbs motion transfer.
The Barclay Hybrid uses pocketed coils plus Serene memory foam. The Barclay and Cloverfield pages state CertiPUR-US certified foams. We found no GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX or GREENGUARD certifications (checked September 2026). The brand doesn't publish foam densities, latex blend or ILD, layer order or gauges. Foundations are sold separately.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Per official copy, the beds use commercial-grade electronically tempered coils, Talalay latex and micro-coils chosen over standard poly foam for longevity. They're hand-built in Webb City, Missouri with American-made components. Qualifying Foreverbed defects are repaired in-house, not replaced.
Warranty backing is a 10-year non-prorated limited warranty on the Croft line. The Foreverbed line has a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Sag coverage applies to permanent impressions over 1-1/2 inches, measured unweighted on proper support.
Against that, we found no foam densities, coil gauges, sag-threshold test data or independent durability testing (checked September 2026). Handmade variance in size, sewing and quilting is expressly expected. Treat long-term hold-up as maker-claimed. It hasn't been independently proven.
Customer reviews and complaints
We found no on-site star ratings or review widgets on the product pages. We also couldn't verify third-party ratings from Google, BBB, Yelp, Sleep Foundation or RTINGS, or expert reviews, for Croft Mattress (checked September 2026). The store's claims of premier-retailer positioning and individualized fitting are brand-reported.
We found no complaint themes either. That doesn't prove satisfaction. It reflects thin public review volume, not proven satisfaction. You should ask for references to past buyers. Get comfort-modification and warranty terms in writing before you order, especially on $5,000-plus Origin builds.
Where can you try and buy?
You can only buy direct. Shop online at croftmattress.com, or in person at two stores. One is in Joplin, MO 64804 (phone 417-623-9393). The other is in Springfield, MO 65804 (phone 417-882-8828). Each carries 30-plus mattresses plus pillows, sheets and accessories. The factory is in Webb City, Missouri.
We didn't find any other authorized retailers, marketplaces or separate Foreverbed brand site (checked September 2026). The site has a Foreverbed collection, a Croft Mattress Line collection, a stores page and a fittings page.
Delivery, setup and removal
Per the official Delivery Information page, you can get delivery anywhere in the U.S. If you live in a local service area, you can choose delivery and installation from the nearest store. Croft-selected third-party companies, which are independent contractors, do the work. They set up to two mattress sets, foundations and standard frames. Outside those areas, you choose economy shipping.
The delivery date on your sales order is an estimate, not a guarantee. A 15-minute grace period applies at the delivery attempt, and missed windows may cost re-delivery fees. You must clear the delivery area and remove your current mattress from the bedroom beforehand.
The brand doesn't publish clear delivery fees, speed tiers or old-mattress removal (checked September 2026). A $400 figure appears on the delivery page without context. Get a written delivery quote, setup scope and haul-away terms before you order.
Sleep trial and returns
There's no conventional sleep trial with free returns. The Perfect Fit Guarantee applies only to Foreverbed-branded mattresses, not Croft-branded beds. It's open to the original purchaser from the 30th day of ownership. It includes one free qualifying comfort modification to make the bed softer or firmer. It's explicitly not a return or exchange. Later comfort changes may stay possible for life under Lifetime Comfort Service, with charges for supplies and work.
You can return unopened pillows, sheets, frames and protectors within 30 days for store credit, per the full Terms and Conditions. The brand doesn't publish mattress return windows, restocking fees or refund steps (checked September 2026). Get modification eligibility, cost and timing in writing before you buy.
Warranty
Croft-branded mattresses carry a 10-year non-prorated limited warranty. Foreverbed mattresses carry a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Coverage includes defects in materials and workmanship, such as bad inner parts and coming apart. It also covers permanent body impressions over 1-1/2 inches, measured without weight while properly supported.
It excludes normal softening and body conformity, damage from inadequate support, misuse, improper handling, liquid damage, stains, contamination and infestation. You need a suitable braced support structure, regular rotation and a clean, sanitary mattress. You pay for transportation, pickup, delivery and shipping tied to warranty or comfort work, unless stated otherwise. File claims on the brand's warranty claim page. Full limits are in the Terms and Conditions.
Croft Mattress vs. other brands
Regional factory-direct shops, such as Verlo-style custom builders, are the closest match. Croft wins on luxury breadth, with 17 Foreverbed variants up to $40,000, plus a lifetime warranty and lifetime comfort service. It loses on clear trial and return terms.
National luxury innerspring brands include Aireloom, Stearns and Foster, and Kluft. Croft wins on customization, since it opens and reworks beds in-house, and on oversized Ozark and Grand Ozark Kings. It loses on third-party reviews, certifications and spec depth.
Against DTC value brands like Saatva, Avocado and Sealy or Serta online, the Croft value line loses on price clarity and trial length. It wins on local fitting and its American-made handcraft story. Against bed-in-a-box brands, Croft wins on materials and serviceability. It loses decisively on price, delivery speed and easy returns, and you'll feel that.
