Ace Size Mattress Review
Ace Size (The Ace Collection) is a West Hollywood maker of luxury oversized, made-to-order mattresses. It's been around since summer 2017. The lead products are the 108x80 Double Deck at $4,500 and the Ace-in-a-Box 2 full bedroom bundle at $9,885 to $12,295. Terms include a short trial window with a 35% handling fee, and a 10-year limited warranty. It's a good fit if you want a bigger-than-king bed. The fees are steep, and you'll find almost no independent testing.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
The guidance here is the brand's own. We found no independent firmness or pressure-relief test data as of September 2026. For back sleepers, the brand steers to the firmer topper setup. For side sleepers, it steers to the softer memory-foam topper for shoulder and hip cushioning.
If you and your partner split on feel, you can rearrange the toppers to try firm, medium, soft and ultra-soft. Extra toppers are sold for fine-tuning. Taller sleepers should look at the Player Size (80x108). Families co-sleeping with kids can choose Ace Size (108x80, three-across) or Family Size (144x80, four-across).
Mattress prices and value
The Double Deck is $4,500, mattress-only. The Ace-in-a-Box 2 full bedroom bundle is $9,885 to $12,295 by size variant (Ace, Player, Family). The older Ace-in-a-Box 1 is $7,635 to $9,295. The brand FAQ says you can finance with Affirm.
Pricing sits at the luxury and novelty end, with no mainstream-size equivalent. The fairest check is price per square inch against standard king specialists, such as Alaskan King and Big Sandy. The 35% handling fee on returns and paid extras raise the cost of a mistaken purchase. Those extras are remote delivery, stairs, install and haul-away. Confirm size fit and fee math before you order.
What are the mattresses made of?
The brand describes the bottom as an 8-inch base of compressible pocket coils. They're wrapped in organic cotton fabric filled with jama wool, a natural fire retardant, plus an added fire-retardant bottom layer. Two detachable 2-inch toppers (one dense firm foam, one plush memory foam) have jama-filled organic cotton covers with fire-retardant undersides. Corner straps are used to reach full width.
It ships compressed, and you wait 12 to 72 hours after unboxing for it to expand. Rotate it monthly in year one, then every 2 to 3 months. Mattresses, bases and headboards are made in the United States. Bedding comes from Portugal, and some accessories come from Peru. The brand doesn't publish certifications such as CertiPUR-US, GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX or GREENGUARD (checked September 2026). It also leaves out foam densities, ILDs, coil counts and gauges.
How well do the mattresses hold up?
The headline is a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on standard mattress lines (Regular, Pillow Top, Premium, cotton and natural). It also covers mattresses and box springs generally. Boxed-bundle deck mattresses plus the headboard get a 5-year limited warranty, per the brand's warranty page.
The brand doesn't publish a sag threshold or body-impression depth (checked September 2026). Normal settling and flattening of fill and ordinary-use body impressions are excluded. Only the original purchaser is covered. You must rotate every 3 months, and flip the premium cotton and natural models. You need the specified foundations or a leveled platform or modular frame. Burns, soiling, misuse, stains and abuse void it. We found no independent durability testing, so durability is brand-reported only.
Customer reviews and complaints
We found no star ratings or review counts on the official product pages. The BBB and Trustpilot pages weren't available when we checked, and we couldn't verify them. We couldn't verify any scored review from Google, Sleep Foundation, RTINGS or Mattress Clarity.
The brand's press page cites a Sleep Doctor feature from February 2025 (Most Comfortable pick) and a PR Newswire release from July 2025 on its site redesign. It also cites LUXlife Perfect Gift Awards 2024 (Best XL Luxury Bedding & Accessories Retailer, Western USA). Older coverage includes People, Today, House Beautiful, Cosmopolitan and MarketWatch from 2017, on the 12-foot-wide family bed. These are secondhand, via the brand.
We found no verified third-party complaints. The likeliest friction points come from policy text. They are the 35% handling fee, non-refundable custom furniture, bedding and clearance, and mixed return-window wording (21 versus 45 days).
Where can you try and buy?
You buy direct at acesize.com. Beds are made to order, built domestically, then dispatched. Call 310-893-1981 or email contact@acesizebed.com. Hours are daily, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST.
The showroom is a linen shop at 8923 Beverly Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90048. It shows Regular, Pillow Top and Premium models plus headboards in queen size only. Full oversize beds can't fit the showroom, per the brand FAQ. The brand doesn't publish a dealer network (checked September 2026). For international orders, email your address and item list for a quote. The brand markets the Double Deck as ideal for international orders.
Delivery, setup and removal
Standard delivery is free, room of choice, on mattress orders in most major cities of the continental United States (lower 48). You must buy and ship all items in an order together to qualify. Some extras are invoiced after a shipping-form review. These are Alaska, Hawaii, PO and APO addresses, 40+ miles outside a major city, stairs, installation delivery, old-mattress removal and shifting furnishings.
There's no guaranteed date, only estimates. The brand contacts you within 1 business day for a shipping form. The order processes once you pay the shipping invoice in full. You unpack the compressed mattress, assemble the modular base, position the layers and wait 12 to 72 hours for full loft. Paid installation delivery is an upgrade. Old-mattress removal costs extra.
Sleep trial and returns
On standard lines (Regular, Pillow Top, Premium), use the mattress for 21 days. Then request a return or exchange within 45 days of receipt. On the Ace-in-a-Box line (Ace Deck, Double Deck), you can use it up to 45 days and request within 45 days of receipt.
A 35% handling fee applies to the mattress price plus foundation or frame. Remote, non-contiguous and international addresses add transit charges. Shipping and processing fees aren't refundable on Ace-in-a-Box. Refunds, less deductions, come within 30 business days. Standard lines allow a return or swap. Only a return is described for Ace-in-a-Box. You can't return opened toppers individually, only the whole set.
Not refundable are custom furniture, headboards, platform and modular frames, opened or used bedding, clearance items and off-website custom orders. White bedding is returnable only if unopened. For Ace-in-a-Box, that's within 30 days. The brand FAQ says returns are accepted within the first 21 days of delivery. That conflicts with the 45-day policy window, so confirm in writing before you buy.
Warranty
Standard mattress lines carry a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, for the original purchaser only. Boxed-bundle deck mattresses plus the headboard carry a 5-year limited warranty. Coverage applies to the mattress plus the specified foundation, with required supports. That means specified foundations or a leveled platform bed, or the modular bed frame for the boxed line. It also needs proof of your rotation and care.
Excluded are normal leveling or flattening of fill, ordinary-use body impressions, and units that are burned, soiled, misused, blood or urine stained, or abused. Abuse includes standing, jumping, bending and rolling. To claim, contact the original seller with your receipt and a description of the problem. You return the product to the retailer for service. Repair or replacement is at the maker's option, and you pay for transport. The brand does not publish a sag-depth threshold (checked September 2026).
Ace Size vs. other brands
Against Alaskan King Bed Company, another oversized US specialist, Ace Size wins on made-to-order modular bundles with bedding included. It loses on a narrower third-party review footprint. Against Big Sandy and regional oversized makers, Ace Size wins on compressed parcel shipping, which it markets for international orders. It loses on a short trial and a 35% fee, against longer mainstream trials.
Against mainstream luxury direct-to-consumer brands like Saatva and Avocado, Ace Size wins if you must have bigger than king. It loses on certifications, published specs, trial length and fee-free returns. Against standard king mattresses, Ace Size wins on width, at 108 to 144 inches versus a 76-inch king. It loses on price, doorway and stair fit risk, and queen-only showroom testing.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
