SensorPEDIC Mattress Review

SensorPEDIC is a long-running US sleep brand known for pillows, toppers, mattress pads, electric blankets and foam mattresses. Today it's split in two. A Houston-area business-to-business maker runs sensorpedic.com, and a retail line sells on Amazon, Walmart and department stores for roughly $40 to $270. The brand doesn't publish a sleep trial, a warranty or direct mattress prices. It's best for budget memory foam and bedding extras. One caveat: who owns the brand today isn't clear.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

The brand gives general guidance, not model-by-model lab data. It doesn't publish a firmness scale, ILD, density or weight ratings. You'll find the Pearl firm all-foam bed suits back and stomach sleepers, heavier sleepers and anyone who overheats on memory foam. The Onyx firm hybrid adds innerspring pushback under a firm gel foam top, plus a cooling cover and edge support.

The medium and medium-plush pocket-coil hybrids suit side and combination sleepers who want contouring over coil support. These are the Graphite 14in Euro Top, Sapphire Pocket Coil Euro Top 12in, Sapphire British Pillow Top 14in and Sapphire Foam-Encased Hybrid 12in. Pocketed coils and gel foam are the brand's motion-isolation pitch for couples. The foam-encased Sapphire 12in adds edge support if you sit on the bed edge.

The Heim Nest models (Air Cooling, Calendula, Chamomile) suit side sleepers who want slow-conforming foam. These are brand claims, not independently tested. The budget 10-inch iCOOL bed suits first-time foam buyers, guest rooms, kids' rooms and renters. Its medium-plush feel suits most back and side sleepers below about 250 lbs. There's no published weight guidance, so heavier sleepers should confirm density with the seller. The Zeta 16in platform frame supports up to 2,300 lbs. If you want a plush luxury feel, the current lineup doesn't have one.

Mattress prices and value

The official site publishes no retail or wholesale prices. Mattresses are quote-based through a retail partner portal, and the brand says it doesn't sell direct to shoppers. So there's no list price, MSRP or direct checkout.

On Amazon, the 10-Inch King iCOOL medium-plush memory foam mattress runs about $249 to $269, with smaller sizes costing less. You'll pay about $40 to $53 for pillows: the gusseted fiber pillow is $43.99, the ICOOL contour pillow $49.99, the WaveFoam pillow $53 and the wedge pillow $40. The Warming Electric Mattress Pad is about $64. Toppers and pads mostly fall between $40 and $130. We couldn't verify Walmart, Home Depot or department-store prices in September 2026 because those sites were unavailable to us.

At $249 to $269, the 10-inch bed sits in the same budget band as Lucid, Linenspa, Best Price Mattress and Zinus. It's well under Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number or premium hybrids. Accessory prices are competitive with Sleep Innovations and basic bedding brands. The value case weakens because the brand publishes no trial, no mattress warranty and no layer specs. You'd rely on Amazon's 30-day return policy or Walmart's return window instead.

What are the mattresses made of?

The official covers include Ice Cool Touch (Pearl, Onyx, Graphite) and Ice Silk breathable knit (Heim Nest Air Cooling). Foams include gel-infused comfort foam, high-density support foam and Thermo-Adaptive memory foam. The Heim Nest line uses calendula- or chamomile-infused comfort foam with bamboo charcoal. The Graphite 14in adds comfort and transition foam and lists an FR barrier.

Support cores vary. The Sapphire 12in uses Bonnell springs with a foam-encased perimeter. The Sapphire Pocket Coil Euro Top 12in and Graphite 14in use individually wrapped pocketed coils. The Onyx uses an innerspring core under gel foam. The Zeta 16in bed frame is alloy steel rated to 2,300 lbs. Every official mattress lists CertiPUR-US certification as a brand claim.

The retail 10-inch mattress uses gel-infused SensorAIR memory foam with ventilation built in for airflow. It also has the iCOOL Technology System, a soft cool-to-the-touch zippered cover and GripWell skid-resistant backing. The listing claims CertiPUR-US certified foam, a fiberglass-free build and an OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 badge. It ships compressed and rolled, so you'll unbox it yourself. One listing claims European craftsmanship, which conflicts with the brand's US-manufacturing story. Standard flat mattresses and vacuum-sealed, rolled, boxed formats exist, and California King is available on request.

The brand doesn't publish layer thicknesses, foam densities, ILD values, coil counts, coil gauge, cover fiber content, adhesive details, fire-barrier fiber or certification ID numbers. We found no GOTS, GOLS, organic, natural latex or GREENGUARD claims.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Evidence on how these beds hold up is thin and mostly the brand's own claims. The official site doesn't publish a mattress warranty length. The retail Warming Electric Mattress Pad lists a 5-year limited warranty. The older consumer program printed warranty lengths on packaging, with pro-rated coverage after ten years. No current source publishes a sag depth or body-impression limit. The older warranty excluded normal wear and tear and warned that using the wrong foundation or frame may void coverage.

We found no Consumer Reports, RTINGS, Sleep Foundation or GoodBed lab results for the mattress line as of September 2026. GoodBed lists the brand's mattress models as discontinued, which limits long-term owner data. For wholesale buyers, the brand promotes consistent firmness across batches (up to 400 mattresses per day), reinforced construction and low return rates. Retail listings promote CertiPUR-US foam tested for performance and durability, plus GripWell backing.

Foam densities and coil counts aren't published, so any estimate you hear about durability is durability estimate is a claim, not a measurement. Heavier sleepers have no density figure to check. The budget 10-inch all-foam bed carries the most body-impression risk over time. SensorPEDIC pillows and toppers have a long retail history, but that's accessory performance, not mattress durability.

Customer reviews and complaints

The older consumer site carried positive customer letters about pillows and toppers, including a Macy's neck pillow, a Land's End pillow and a topper. Amazon ratings for brand store products run from 2.9 to 4.6 stars. The 10-inch King mattress has 4.3 stars from 169 ratings. The Warming Electric Mattress Pad has 4.3 to 4.4 stars from 470 to 637 ratings, with about 75% five-star and 7% one-star.

Other Amazon ratings: the Essentials gusseted fiber pillow 4.2 (13 ratings), the ICOOL contour pillow 4.2 (179 ratings), the WaveFoam pillow 3.7 and the SensorSafe electric blanket 4.1. One heated blanket Twin variant rates 2.9. Several sheet-set and pillowcase listings fall between 3.5 and 4.1. Walmart shows a Clean Comfort contour pillow and a MicroShield anti-allergen mattress pad, but their review counts weren't available to us.

The BBB site was unavailable when we checked in September 2026. We found no Trustpilot, Sitejabber or Consumer Affairs page, and no independent expert review of a SensorPEDIC mattress. GoodBed has a brand page that flags the mattresses as discontinued. We couldn't quote a verified complaint list, because Amazon review text needs a logged-in account and Walmart and Home Depot pages were unavailable.

Ratings alone suggest you'll like basic pillows and mattress pads most. Heated products score lowest, which points to controls or heating elements, not mattress construction. The mattress's 4.3 average on 169 reviews is encouraging, but it's too small and too recent to be conclusive.

Where can you try and buy?

sensorpedic.com is business-to-business only. It covers wholesale, private label and hospitality, and says it doesn't sell direct to shoppers. Wholesale orders go through the retail partner portal. Hospitality orders go through the sales team at orders@sensorpedic.com or +1 (713) 574-5494, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central. There's no showroom, factory store or storefront. The Missouri City, TX facility offers same-day Houston pickup for trade buyers.

On Amazon, you'll find a SensorPEDIC brand store with roughly 8 to 18 results. They include the 10-inch iCOOL mattress, toppers, a mattress pad, pillows, heated blankets, pillowcases and sheet sets. Amazon sells and ships them. Walmart lists the Clean Comfort contour pillow, the MicroShield mattress pad and 10-inch Cal King and Twin XL mattresses. Home Depot has a 4-inch medium memory foam Twin topper.

Older department-store and catalog sales included JCPenney, Macy's, Land's End, Belk, Dillard's and Bloomingdale's, all under the earlier Soft-Tex name. A 2013 warranty page said the brands sold in over ten countries. We found no Mattress Firm, Sleep Number, Ashley or Rooms To Go listing for the current line. The current mattresses are online-only, so you can only try pillows and toppers in stores before you buy. The earlier owner, Soft-Tex Manufacturing of Waterford, NY, ran its own plants, and no current factory-sharing statement exists.

Delivery, setup and removal

For wholesale and hospitality buyers, the brand offers same-day pickup in Houston and free delivery across Texas. It ships nationwide in the US, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. Mattresses ship as standard flat units or in vacuum-sealed, rolled, boxed formats. Lead times are 2 to 5 days for in-stock modifications and 7 to 30 days for fully custom designs. Hospitality projects are scheduled by volume and spec.

Don't expect the brand to publish white-glove delivery, in-home setup or old-mattress removal. Retail partners arrange delivery for shoppers themselves. The retail 10-inch mattress arrives compressed and rolled, and you unpack and expand it. Shipping cost and speed follow the retailer's program. We couldn't verify Walmart or Home Depot terms in September 2026 because those sites were unavailable.

The Zeta 16in alloy steel platform frame (up to 2,300 lbs) is the only base the brand publishes. The older warranty warned that an improper foundation or frame may void coverage. No box spring, adjustable base or slat spacing specs are published for the new collections.

Sleep trial and returns

The official site publishes no trial, return policy, exchange program or fee schedule. That's normal for a wholesale program, but trade buyers must negotiate terms. There's no SensorPEDIC-branded sleep trial for shoppers. The retailer covers you instead.

The Amazon 10-inch mattress listing shows Amazon's 30-day right of return. The Warming Electric Mattress Pad listing advertises a free 30-day refund or replacement with free returns. Amazon is the seller and shipper on the branded items we found, so returns are ordinary Amazon returns with no restocking fee.

The older consumer site (Soft-Tex Manufacturing, 2013) advertised a 90 Day Sleep Trial Guarantee as part of the SensorPEDIC Promise. The guarantee page wouldn't load from an archived copy, so its terms, exclusions and fees are unknown (checked September 2026). The brand doesn't publish exchanges. Size or feel changes go through the retailer. Bottom line: no brand-backed mattress trial exists today.

Warranty

The current official site publishes no warranty of any kind. Its 2026 data has zero warranty references. So there's no coverage length, sag clause, exclusion list or claims process for the Sapphire, Pearl, Onyx, Graphite or Heim Nest collections. Wholesale terms are handled privately with trade partners, so you'd negotiate them.

The only explicit current warranty is a 5-year limited warranty on the Warming Electric Mattress Pad's Amazon listing, which you can request from customer service. The 10-inch mattress listing shows Amazon's 30-day return policy but no manufacturer warranty text. No other product states coverage.

The older consumer warranty (Soft-Tex Manufacturing, archived 2013) covered defects present before use and abnormal deterioration of the internal core and cover. Coverage length was printed on each package. It was pro-rated after ten years: 50% after the first ten years, with the other 50% divided across the remaining years. It excluded normal wear and tear and required the original receipt. You also needed the recommended foundation or frame. Claims went through 1-800-366-2324. The current claims path isn't published. If warranty certainty matters, ask the retailer in writing before you buy.

SensorPEDIC vs. other brands

Against budget bed-in-a-box brands (Lucid, Linenspa, Best Price Mattress, Zinus), SensorPEDIC's 10-inch iCOOL sits in the same $249 to $269 King range. It matches them on CertiPUR-US claims and adds a fiberglass-free claim and a cooling cover. It loses on transparency. Rivals publish layer thicknesses, densities, coil counts, trials and multi-year warranties. SensorPEDIC publishes none of those for its mattresses.

Against premium brands (Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number, Purple), it costs a fraction of the price. It has no proprietary pressure-relief tech, no adjustable or smart features, and no showroom or trial. It competes as a value buy, not a destination mattress.

Against accessory-led brands (Sleep Innovations, Soft-Tex's own retail programs, department-store labels), SensorPEDIC matches or beats them on breadth, from pillows to sheets. It has had department-store credibility since the brand launched in 2008. But the retail line is thinner than it once was, and many older store listings are stale. Against entry Serta, Sealy, Beautyrest or Ikea foam beds, it competes on price and cooling covers. It can't match what you'd get in a store: try-outs, financing, delivery, old-mattress removal or published warranty terms. It also has no plush luxury or latex hybrid step-up.

Wins: price per inch at retail and cooling-cover claims. You also get a wide accessory range. Trade buyers get a real wholesale and private-label offer, with no minimum order on stock models and fast lead times. Losses: no consumer sleep trial, no published mattress warranty, no showrooms and no third-party testing. There's also a question mark over continuity between the older Soft-Tex operation and the current Houston site.

How we put this review together

We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy

Does SensorPEDIC sell mattresses direct to shoppers?

No. The official site says it doesn't sell direct to shoppers. It runs wholesale, private label and hospitality programs instead. You can buy consumer mattresses only through retail listings such as Amazon and Walmart.

Who actually makes SensorPEDIC?

The older consumer brand was the flagship of Soft-Tex Manufacturing in Waterford, NY, per its archived site and beds.org. The current sensorpedic.com is a Houston, Texas maker founded in 2017. No public document links the two, so treat continuity as unconfirmed.

What does the 10-inch SensorPEDIC mattress cost?

The King 10-Inch iCOOL cooling gel medium-plush memory foam bed costs about $249 to $269 on Amazon. It has 4.3 stars from 169 ratings as of September 2026. Smaller sizes cost less. Wholesale collections are quote-only.

Is there a sleep trial or a warranty?

There's no brand sleep trial today. Retail purchases rely on the retailer's return window, such as Amazon's 30 days. No mattress warranty is published. The only stated warranty is a 5-year limited warranty on the Warming Electric Mattress Pad.

What is inside the mattresses?

The brand lists gel-infused memory and comfort foams over Bonnell springs with foam encasement, pocketed coils or high-density base foam. Covers are Ice Cool Touch or Ice Silk. The Graphite 14in has an FR barrier. CertiPUR-US claims appear throughout. The retail 10-inch model adds a fiberglass-free claim and an OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 badge. Layer thicknesses, densities and coil counts aren't published.

Where are they made and how do they ship?

The official collections are made in Missouri City (Houston), Texas, at up to 400 mattresses per day. They ship flat or vacuum-sealed and boxed. Options include same-day Houston pickup, free Texas delivery and nationwide US shipping excluding Alaska, Hawaii and territories. Lead times are 2 to 5 days for in-stock modifications and 7 to 30 days for custom. One Amazon listing claims European craftsmanship, which conflicts with the Texas story and is unverified.
