iSense Sleep Mattress Review

iSense is a direct-to-consumer maker in Springfield, Missouri. It builds adjustable-firmness smart beds around Comfort Control air-cylinder foam tuning. You get per-side control through a remote and a phone app. The line spans an all-foam Classic and a 13.5-inch Hybrid Premier, plus smart bundles with the Elite adjustable base. Pricing is premium, with a 180-night trial and a 10-year full warranty. It's best for couples who want different feels without a big air-bladder bed.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Side sleepers who want tunable pressure relief can soften their side of the Classic or Hybrid Premier on the 10-to-99 scale. The Hybrid Premier adds coil support for heavier side sleepers. Back and stomach sleepers can use firmer settings that keep coil or dense-foam support under you. iSense notes that softer settings don't remove coil support.

Couples with different tastes can use Queen and up for left-right tuning with motion separation. One side can stay soft while the other stays firm. Hot sleepers get open-cell and AquaCool gel foams plus breathable covers as the cooling story. There's an optional gel upgrade on the Classic, and BedJet climate add-ons are sold separately. No independent cooling test data is published.

If you're a smart-bed shopper, choose the Adjustable Smart bundle for app control, sleep tracking, snore response and massage. Only iSense bases pair with the app. The system needs power only to change feel.

Mattress prices and value

These bands were seen in September 2026 on myisense.com, with 20% off shown. Classic: Twin XL $2,319 (was $2,899), Queen $2,679 (was $3,349), King and Cal King $3,199 (was $3,999), and Split King, FlexHead King and FlexHead Cal King $3,519 (was $4,399). Hybrid Premier: Twin XL $2,799 (was $3,499), Queen $3,379 (was $4,349), King and Cal King $3,999 (was $4,999), and FlexHead and Split King $4,399 (was $5,499).

The Elite base alone is Twin XL $1,283 (was $1,604), Queen $1,454 (was $1,818) and King sets $2,566 (was $3,208). The site offers 50% off Elite with Hybrid Premier. The Personalized Sleep Bundle is Queen $4,899 (was $6,665), King and Cal King $6,599 (was $8,675), and Split and FlexHead about $7,089 (was about $9,195 to $9,225).

Add-ons are a $150 cooling layer and a $150 sleep sensor. Affirm starts at $95 per month, with Synchrony and Affirm 0% APR plans noted. There are 5% discounts for military, veterans, first responders, teachers and seniors. You get genuinely different per-side air-cylinder tuning and US assembly. But pricing is near luxury smart-bed territory, so buy on sale and price the bundle.

What are the mattresses made of?

The Classic has a stretchy, lofty cover and 2.25 in of open-cell cooling pressure-relief foam. A gel-cooling upgrade costs extra. Below it is a 5.5 in foam section holding 14 small air cylinders for left-right tuning. There's 5.5 in of high-resilience perimeter edge foam and a 3 in firm foam foundation.

The Hybrid Premier has a high-loft stretch quilted cover and adaptive pressure foam infused with AquaCool Gel. It also has the patented 14-cylinder Comfort Control tuning layer and high-resilience perimeter foam. Hundreds of independently responding pocketed coils (the FAQ cites 580) and a high-density foundation layer.

The smart layer is Comfort Control Technology, with 20 comfort settings per side (scale 10 to 99). One physical mattress remote is included. Phone-app control pairs only with iSense bases, and integrated sleep tracking is built in. The foams are described as CertiPUR-US certified and hand-built in Springfield, Missouri. Sizes are Twin XL, Queen, King and Cal King, plus Split King and FlexHead options on Kings. Twin XL is single-zone, and larger sizes offer two-side control. The brand doesn't publish foam densities, coil gauge or full layer diagrams. It states no latex content (checked September 2026).

How well do the mattresses hold up?

The durability pitch is replaceable tunable hardware, including cylinders, pumps, remotes and sensors. It adds high-resilience edge foam and pocketed coils on the hybrid. The CertiPUR-US foams are assembled in Springfield. iSense cites owner-survey claims from 200 owners surveyed October to December 2022 after 6-plus months. Those are 87% better sleep, 4 in 5 would recommend, 82% less aches and stiffness, and 70% of back-pain sufferers helped. It also cites over 2 million nights of sleep data.

Against that, we found no foam densities, no sag-test results and no independent durability testing (checked September 2026). Warranty replacements don't reset the 10-year term. Treat long-term hold-up as brand-claimed, not independently proven.

Customer reviews and complaints

On-site badges claim 369 happy-customer reviews (Hybrid Premier) and 149 reviews (Elite base). Expert quotes call it a strong Sleep Number alternative and a supportive side-sleeper option. The brand also cites stats: 84% back-pain relief, 73 extra minutes per night, 87% better sleep, and 35 nights typical to dial in your feel.

We found no star-average breakdowns, complaint text or verified third-party ratings (checked September 2026). The Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis pages didn't exist, and the Trustpilot and BBB pages weren't available. We found no complaint themes. That reflects thin independent coverage, not proven satisfaction. Common smart-bed worries are price, electronics reliability and service responsiveness. We couldn't verify those from independent sources.

Delivery, setup and removal

Delivery is free to the contiguous 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii take longer. Each bed is built to order in about 1 week in Springfield, Missouri. Then you get a call to book drop-off in the next 2 to 4 weeks.

It fits any flat firm surface with center bracing. It works with adjustable bases that have a foot retainer. Only iSense bases pair with the app. Old-mattress pickup is available through a third party for an extra charge, arranged through chat. Confirm setup and haul-away details, threshold versus white-glove scope, and Alaska and Hawaii surcharges in writing before you order.

Sleep trial and returns

The 180-Night Guarantee (also called the 180-Night Comfort Guarantee) lets you sleep on it risk-free for 180 nights. It's marketed with no return or restocking fees. You must keep the mattress at least 45 consecutive nights before a return can start. You get a full refund if you return it between day 45 and night 180. iSense arranges pickup and covers return freight.

It applies to adjustable mattresses only. Adjustable bases are excluded. The brand doesn't publish exchanges, comfort swaps or options after 180 days (checked September 2026). Confirm in writing before you buy.

Warranty

You get a 10-Year Full Warranty (a 10-year limited warranty). It's full coverage with no prorated charges, including shipping on approved claims. It's for the original purchaser with proof of purchase, and it isn't transferable. It covers indentations greater than 0.75 in not caused by improper support. It also covers cracks or splits in foam or cover under normal use, and all electrical components (pumps, remotes, sensors).

You need a proper frame or adjustable base with adequate support. The warranty excludes products used without proper support, floor models, misuse, abuse and tampering. Tampering with electrical components voids those parts. Incidental or consequential damages are excluded. Replacement parts are of equal or greater quality but don't reset the 10-year term. A refundable deposit may be required for parts. For claims, call 1-866-910-8605, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM CST. Full text is at myisense.com/pages/warranty.

iSense Sleep vs. other brands

Sleep Number is the obvious comparison. iSense positions its foam-over-cylinder tuning for shoppers who dislike a big air-bladder support feel. Both have per-side control and app operation. Sleep Number wins on store footprint, model breadth and review depth.

Tempur-Pedic and Purple have smart and adjustable lines too. iSense wins on explicit per-side firmness numbers and a bundled snore-response plus massage base. It loses on brand scale, trial clarity for bases and independent testing.

Standard hybrids and all-foam beds win on price, lead time and simplicity. That's true if you sleep solo and don't need tuning. iSense wins for couples split on firmness. Cheap adjustable-base bundles lose on integration, since iSense puts the mattress and base in one app. iSense loses on cost and on the mattress-only trial.
