Which mattress suits your sleep needs?
Side sleepers with shoulder or hip pressure points should start with Soft. Combination sleepers, couples with different builds and first-time Durable buyers should choose Medium, the brand's most-sold all-position option. Back and stomach sleepers and heavier sleepers who need pushback should choose Firm.
Hot sleepers can add the Cooling Fabric Upgrade. If you can't flip a heavy mattress alone, plan on two people. Handles are sewn in to help.
Mattress prices and value

What are the mattresses made of?
It's a two-sided hybrid, mirrored for flipping. From top to bottom on each side, you get a Cooling Cover. The optional Cooling Fabric Upgrade uses cool-to-the-touch, high-thermal-conductivity fibers. Then comes High Density Quilting Foam, and Pressure Relief Foam. That's Serene foam, which the brand calls cooler, faster-responding and longer-lasting than traditional memory foam. Next come Support Transition Foam, or Durable zoned base foam, and a zoned pocketed steel coil unit.
The coil unit has a stronger center for lumbar support. Its reinforced edges are claimed to be 20% stronger than other online brands. Sewn-in side handles help with flipping. All foams are stated CertiPUR-US certified (low VOC under 0.5 ppm, made without formaldehyde, CPSC-regulated phthalates, mercury, lead, heavy metals or ozone depleters).
There's no latex. The brand doesn't publish coil count, gauge, foam density or ILD figures (checked September 2026).
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Durability is the brand's core pitch. In its words, it's simple math: with a double-sided bed you get twice the life and comfort. You flip and rotate so each side can rest and recover from body impressions. High-density foams plus Serene foam resist sagging, and zoned coils with reinforced edges hold alignment.
The brand says the bed performs like a high-quality one-sided bed even if you never flip it. It says past two-sided owners report two to three times the lifespan. It also says the warranty covers even what's often written off as normal wear. We found no independent durability testing or sag-depth figures. Treat lifespan claims as brand positioning, not measured results.
Customer reviews and complaints
The on-site rating badge shows 4.97 out of 5 with a link to 74 reviews. The page also carries 100-plus customer reviews, nearly all 5-star with a few 4-star. Reviewers often praise flipping for longevity and back and hip pain relief. They like Medium as a couple-friendly compromise. They also mention cooling versus old memory foam, a supportive feel and responsive service.
Mild complaints repeat too. Some reviewers mention a multi-week adjustment period. Others say the bed is heavier than expected and ideally needs two people to flip. Some second-guess their firmness choice. The brand doesn't publish third-party verification from BBB, Trustpilot, Google or Amazon (checked September 2026), so treat on-site reviews as brand-hosted.
Where can you try and buy?
Buy direct at durablemattress.com. The three mattress models plus bases, pillows, protectors and add-ons are sold through the brand's own storefront.
The brand has no physical showroom, store locator or authorized third-party retailer (Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Costco) listings (checked September 2026). It says mattresses ship from one of 8 USA factories. It doesn't publish factory cities or showroom addresses.
Delivery, setup and removal
The brand says mattresses ship within 4 to 7 business days from one of 8 USA factories, then typically take 2 to 4 days by UPS. Product badges advertise Free Delivery and Free Shipping and Returns.
Setup and old-mattress removal aren't included by default. You can buy them as a paid add-on (Add Mattress Removal / Setup). The brand doesn't publish white-glove room-of-choice terms, threshold specifics, rural surcharges or old-mattress recycling details (checked September 2026).
Sleep trial and returns
Product badges advertise a risk-free 100-night trial. Checkout also sells a Save $200 option to opt out of the trial, and a related add-on name refers to removing a 120-night trial. So 100 versus 120 nights is inconsistent on the site. Confirm it before you buy.
Returns are badged as free. The brand doesn't publish step-by-step return steps, exchange for another firmness, pickup versus donation, refund timing or restocking and return fees (checked September 2026). If you give up the trial to save $200, confirm that tradeoff in writing.
Warranty
A Limited Lifetime Warranty is badged on the product page. The brand says it protects against body impressions and covers even what's often written off as normal wear.
The brand doesn't publish full terms (checked September 2026). That includes the sag-depth threshold, prorated versus non-prorated coverage, foundation requirements, law-tag or registration rules and the claim process. Request the written warranty before you buy.
Durable Mattress vs. other brands
On-site reviews name DreamCloud, Layla and Beautyrest as one-sided bed-in-box comparisons. Durable's edge is flippability plus a lifetime warranty. The drawbacks are heavier handling, no showroom and thinner third-party review coverage.
Against other flippable sellers, Durable competes on zoned coils, Serene foam, reinforced edges and US multi-factory shipping. It doesn't publish coil counts or foam densities, so you can't compare spec to spec. Against budget online hybrids, it costs more but treats the second sleep surface as the value offset. We found no independent head-to-head testing as of September 2026.
How we put this review together
We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
