Coco-Mat Mattress Review

COCO-MAT is a natural-sleep brand from Greece, founded in 1989, selling coconut-fiber and natural-latex beds through its USA store. Only the Skiouros crib mattress is in scope here. It's a reversible, metal-free newborn-to-toddler mattress with a washable cover and a 2-year guarantee. The brand doesn't publish US pricing or online checkout. You'll buy through the SoHo store in New York.

Choose the Skiouros if you want one natural crib mattress for newborn through toddler stages. Use the firmer coconut-fiber side for newborns. Flip to the latex side for toddlers. Custom intermediate sizes between 120x60 cm and 140x70 cm are stated as available.

For other ages or adult models such as Proteas, Afroditi or Iraklis, contact the US store. They're outside the crib scope here.

The USA product page shows no USD price for the Skiouros as of September 2026. COCO-MAT USA terms say products can't currently be purchased directly through the US website. You confirm availability, prices, delivery options and payment directly with the SoHo store. Quotes are good for 30 days.

We can't score value without published US pricing. Compare the store-quoted price against natural crib competitors.

The Skiouros has a coconut fiber and natural latex core. The outer cover is 100% cotton and washable up to 90C. It also has a Galatia soft waterproof protective layer and an inner cotton layer with a zipper for removal. The brand says it blocks liquids and reduces perspiration.

Brand-wide natural materials include cotton, coconut fiber, natural rubber, seaweed, eucalyptus, wood, horsehair, linen, down feather, wool, cactus and lavender. The brand claims hardware-free, steel-spring-free construction.

The brand doesn't publish durability data beyond the 2-year guarantee (checked September 2026). The product Q and A claims spring-free natural construction offers more uniform backing, quieter use and longer durability under rough handling. It compares this with steel springs, and says there are no metal-generated fields.

For care, rotate head to foot and flip about every six months. Keep the seam upward on doubles. Avoid sun without the cover, and protect it from water and sweat. Store it on its long side. Use an airy slatted base with 2 cm slats and 5 to 7 cm gaps.

We found no ratings, review count or customer complaints on the official Skiouros product page as of September 2026. We didn't validate Trustpilot rating details. Common praise and complaint themes for this crib model aren't published.

Here's the USA policy per the general terms. There's no online shop. Bed mattresses, mattresses and top-mattresses have a 14-day exchange-only trial from receipt, at market price. There are no refunds. You pay return and redelivery freight, and any downgrade balance stays as shop credit.

Pillows, linens, quilts, furniture and Kiriaki and Kamelia over-mattresses have no refunds, returns or exchanges. Clearance items, floor samples and discontinued items are final As Is. Custom and special orders can be cancelled within 3 days after the order plus deposit. After that, a 50% cancellation fee applies. You must flag transit damage within 3 days.

The brand doesn't publish crib-specific exceptions (checked September 2026).

The Skiouros product page states a 2 year guarantee. The broader USA terms don't state a warranty period in the excerpt we read. They refer you to www.coco-mat.com for maintenance and warranty details. They also note that handcrafted natural inputs may vary slightly in color, look, feel or shape versus the display.

The brand doesn't publish coverage details, a claim process, exclusions or prorating (checked September 2026). Confirm the crib warranty in writing with the SoHo store.

Compared with typical US crib and natural competitors, the Skiouros stands out. It emphasizes all-natural coconut plus latex, reversibility, washable cotton to 90C and an included waterproof layer. Many other cribs use foam or innerspring.

The tradeoffs are plain. There's no published US online price and no US online checkout. There's only one confirmed US store. Terms are 14-day exchange-only with no refunds, and you pay freight. The listed guarantee is 2 years. The brand doesn't publish head-to-head specs and prices against named rivals (checked September 2026).

We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.
