Signature Sleep Mattress Review

Signature Sleep is Dorel Home's value mattress line. You can't buy it direct, since signaturesleep.com redirects to dorelhome.com and Dorel's own mattress collection is empty. It's sold through Walmart, Amazon and Wayfair. Live Amazon models run about $55 to $447 and carry 10-year limited warranties. There's no sleep trial. It suits tight budgets, guest rooms, dorms and kids' rooms. The catch is that you get no trial, no free returns and uneven ratings.

Checked September 2026 against the brand's own pages and public listings. We haven't sleep-tested these mattresses, so treat this as a buyer's summary of what the brand publishes.

Which mattress suits your sleep needs?

Side sleepers should look at the Memoir 12 Inch. Its 3 in memory foam layer is the thickest foam in the range. The Contour Hybrid 12 Inch pillow-top is the coil option, and the Memoir 10 Inch is firmer.

Back and stomach sleepers have the Contour 8 Inch, Contour Plus 10 Inch and Dream On 8 Inch. All three are positioned as medium-firm with balanced support. The Tranquility 6 Inch is a medium tight-top. Combination sleepers get easier repositioning from the pocket-spring models, or motion isolation from the Memoir foam line. Couples can look at the encased-coil models, which are marketed on motion isolation. The Memoir line also claims edge-to-edge construction.

Hot sleepers should know that the Dream On 8 Inch and Tranquility 6 Inch are pitched as cooler than all-foam. Their polyester pads don't hold heat. But there's no dedicated cooling or gel-infused mattress in the line, since gel appears only in the topper.

For kids, teens, bunk beds, daybeds, dorms and RVs, the Tranquility 6 Inch and Dream On 8 Inch are the intended fits. The Magnus set is marketed for dorms, RVs, kids and teens too. The Tranquility is described as supporting average to lighter weight people.

If you are a heavy or plus-size sleeper, that is the clearest gap. No model publishes a weight capacity. For guest rooms, the Tranquility 6 Inch at $55 and the Dream On 8 Inch at $161 are the cheapest credible options.

Mattress prices and value

Live Amazon prices in September 2026, low to high, start with the Tranquility 6 Inch Twin at $55. A metal platform bed frame Queen is $109. The Magnus set Twin is $119 in Black Oak. Dream On 8 Inch Queen is $161, Memoir 10 Inch Twin is $164, and Memoir 12 Inch Twin is $189. Next come Contour Plus 10 Inch Twin $199, Magnus set Twin $199 in Ivory Oak, and the 3 in gel-infused topper King $199. After those: Memoir 12 Inch Queen $219, Contour Hybrid 12 Inch Queen $229, Contour 8 Inch Queen $299, Memoir 12 Inch King $447 and Casey sleeper sofa Queen $1,034.

That puts mattresses at roughly $55 to $447 from Twin through King. Most popular sizes fall between $164 and $299. You get genuinely entry-level pricing, often half or less of what direct-to-consumer brands charge for a queen. The reversible coil models give you two-sided wear for the money.

The trade-offs are no sleep trial, no free returns on Dorel-direct purchases, no white-glove delivery, no cooling tier and no published foam densities. Dorel's own mattress collections are empty, so there's no direct list price to compare. All current pricing is retailer pricing that moves with Amazon promotions.

What are the mattresses made of?

The Memoir 10 Inch and 12 Inch use two levels of CertiPUR-US certified foam. A 2.5 in or 3 in memory foam comfort layer sits over a 7.5 in or 9 in high-density foam base. The cover is a breathable OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified poly-viscose. Dorel says the foam is made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (Tris) flame retardants, ozone depleters, mercury, lead or heavy metals. The Memoir listings also describe the build as free from fiberglass and fire-retardant chemicals. They're made in North America with imported and domestic materials, and ship compressed, rolled and vacuum-packed.

On the coil side, the Contour 8 Inch uses 7 in of 15-gauge independently encased coils with high-density foam at the top and bottom. It's made in Italy. The Contour Plus 10 Inch uses encased premium-gauge steel coils with dual support foam layers under a quilted cover. It's assembled in Canada. The Contour Hybrid 12 Inch combines encased coils with memory foam and convoluted foam in a pillow-top. Its cover is non-removable and non-washable, and it's made in Italy.

The Dream On 8 Inch uses 7 in of 816 heavy-duty independently encased pocket springs. It has dual high-density thermobonded polyester pads and a quilted polyester cover, and it's assembled in Canada. The Tranquility 6 Inch uses 216-count high-gauge steel Bonnell coils with dual-sided polyester pads, made in Canada.

You'll see three certifications. CertiPUR-US covers the Memoir foam and the gel topper. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 covers Memoir covers. GREENGUARD Gold covers the Dream On 8 Inch, Tranquility 6 Inch and Magnus set mattress. The Dream On, Tranquility and Magnus pads use 50 percent recycled polyester fibers. The Magnus mattress uses 50 percent regenerated polyester from recycled plastic bottles. The brand does not publish foam densities in lb per cubic foot, ILD or any numbered firmness scale (checked September 2026). It also doesn't publish coil counts for the Contour 8 Inch, Contour Plus 10 Inch or Contour Hybrid 12 Inch.

How well do the mattresses hold up?

Dorel Home's Product Warranty page, effective October 1, 2017, gives Signature Sleep mattresses 10 years. Signature Sleep Gold gets 15 years and Signature Sleep Baby gets 5 years. The sag standard is body indentation of 1.5 inches or more, measured on a proper foundation or frame. Covered defects also include material splitting or cracking, broken or protruding wires, and cover zipper defects.

Frame rules are a real durability factor. Use a matching or rigid, supportive, non-yielding foundation. Slatted systems need gaps of no more than 3 inches. Queen, king and California king platform and slat beds need at least one center support beam. Queen and king frames need a rigid center support with at least 5 legs and 3 cross slats. Twin and full frames need 4 legs.

Care rules matter too. Air the mattress out for at least 48 hours after opening, on a flat, well-ventilated surface. Allow 48 hours to expand within two weeks of delivery. Rotate as needed, and carry it upright on its side. Never remove the law tag, because that voids coverage.

The brand's own durability story on the coil line is reversibility. The Contour 8 Inch, Contour Plus 10 Inch, Dream On 8 Inch and Tranquility 6 Inch are two-sided. You flip and rotate them to even out wear. Every durability claim here comes from the brand. No independent lab testing is published for any Signature Sleep model. The warranty also excludes normal memory-foam softness changes and reduced slow recovery. So comfort loss, the most common aging complaint on budget foam, isn't covered.

Customer reviews and complaints

These are Amazon ratings checked in September 2026, biggest review base first. Contour 8 Inch Reversible Queen has 4.4 stars from 11,248 global ratings. Memoir 12 Inch Queen has 3.7 stars from 6,117. Memoir 10 Inch Twin has 4.4 stars from 1,036. The metal platform bed frame Queen has 4.5 stars from 291. Contour Hybrid 12 Inch Queen has 4.3 stars from 75. Tranquility 6 Inch Twin has 4.4 stars from 54.

Smaller bases include the Casey sleeper sofa Queen at 4.2 stars from 39 ratings and Dream On 8 Inch Queen at 3.9 stars from 38. The King gel topper has 4.1 stars from 27. The Magnus sets have 4.1 and 4.4 stars from 15 ratings each. Contour Plus 10 Inch Twin has 4.4 stars from 4.

We couldn't extract Amazon review text. These themes come from rating spreads, listing copy and warranty terms, not quoted customers. The Memoir 12 Inch King sits at 4.5 stars and the Twin at 4.4, while the high-volume Queen sits at 3.7. That points to size-dependent consistency, not one uniform defect. The Dream On 8 Inch at 3.9 and the Memoir 12 Inch Queen at 3.7 are the soft spots. The Contour 8 Inch at 4.4 across 11,248 ratings is the strongest sign of satisfaction.

Complaints you can verify from brand text include expansion time, which Dorel says can take 24 to 72 hours and longer in a cold room. New-foam smell is another, and Dorel tells you to air the mattress at least 48 hours. A third is durability expectations, since the warranty excludes sagging under 1.5 inches. We found no Signature Sleep review on Sleep Foundation, Mattress Clarity or Sleepopolis (checked September 2026). No independent lab testing turned up either. The Better Business Bureau profile was unavailable when we checked, so we don't report a BBB rating.

Where can you try and buy?

Dorel Home's Where to Buy page lists Amazon, Ashley Furniture, Big Lots, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, Walmart and Wayfair. It says products are sold in the United States, Canada and Europe. It points you to support to find a nearby retailer. The Signature Sleep Amazon storefront has tabs. They're Memory Foam, Hybrid, Coil, Pillow Top, Bed in a Box, Platform bed frames, Folding Foundations, Wall Beds, Sleeper Sofas and Deals.

There are no branded Signature Sleep stores and no working direct channel. signaturesleep.com sends a 301 redirect to signaturesleep.dhpfurniture.com, which redirects again to www.dorelhome.com. There, both the mattresses collection and the signature-sleep collection say there are no products. Dorel lists Walmart as an authorized retailer, but Walmart's site was unavailable when we checked. So we report no Walmart items, prices or ratings.

The only physical venue is Dorel Home's High Point Market showroom. It's by appointment only and aimed at the trade, not shoppers. For store questions, call 1-800-267-1739 or email cs@dhpfurniture.com or DHF_Consumer_Care@djgusa.com. The mailing address is 1255 Greene Ave, Suite 300, Westmount, QC H3Z 2A4. Sibling brands on the same platform are DHP Furniture, Novogratz, Ameriwood Home, Cosco, Max and Finn, Systembuild Evolution, LikeHome, NTense and RealRooms.

Delivery, setup and removal

Every Signature Sleep mattress ships compressed, rolled and vacuum-packed. Dorel's care steps are the setup steps. Air the mattress out for at least 48 hours after opening, on a flat, well-ventilated surface. Allow 48 hours to expand within two weeks of delivery. The Contour Plus listing says to wait 24 to 48 hours after unboxing. The Contour 8 Inch listing warns that memory foam may take longer in a cold room, with a general note of 24 to 72 hours.

The Magnus set ships in one compact box and needs assembly. Dorel recommends two adults. You don't need a box spring, because the frame has steel slats, side rails and center legs.

Published sizes and weights show what you'll be handling. The Tranquility 6 Inch Twin is 74 x 38 x 6 in. The Contour Plus 10 Inch Twin is 75 x 39.5 x 10 in. The Dream On 8 Inch Queen is 79 x 59 x 8 in. The Contour 8 Inch Queen is 80 x 60 x 8 in, and you can check each listing for others. Weights are Tranquility 6 Inch Twin at 29 lb, Memoir 10 Inch Twin is 34 lb, and Contour Plus 10 Inch Twin is 56.5 lb. Memoir 12 Inch Queen is 62 lb, Contour 8 Inch Queen is 69.5 lb, Dream On 8 Inch Queen is 82 lb and Contour Hybrid 12 Inch Queen is 88 lb.

The retailer sets delivery cost and speed, and Dorel doesn't publish delivery pricing. You won't get white-glove delivery, in-home setup or old-mattress removal from Dorel, so you handle removing your old mattress. Foundation rules match the warranty rules above. Dorel doesn't publish an adjustable-base compatibility claim for any Signature Sleep mattress (checked September 2026).

Sleep trial and returns

Dorel doesn't publish a sleep trial for Signature Sleep (checked September 2026). Its pages describe warranty coverage only. No 30-night, 100-night or 120-night trial appears on any Dorel page or live Amazon listing. Assume you have no try-at-home period.

The only return policy Dorel publishes is the RealRooms returns page, which covers purchases from RealRooms.com. It allows returns within 30 days of delivery for any reason, in the original box. A UPS label may be provided, but you pay return shipping. It mentions no restocking fee. For damage, you get a full or partial refund, replacement parts, or a full replacement, if available. The page also says Dorel can't accept mattress returns. It tells you to contact customer service within 30 days and not change the product first.

For purchases elsewhere, Dorel says to contact that retailer. So the return window, condition rules, shipping charges and restocking terms of Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Target, Big Lots, Home Depot, Lowe's or Ashley apply. There's no published exchange program and no firmness-swap offer. On the warranty side, shipping and handling is $75 for adult mattresses and $25 for baby mattresses after any no-charge period.

Warranty

Dorel Home publishes one Product Warranty page for the whole platform, effective October 1, 2017. Signature Sleep mattresses are covered for 10 years, Signature Sleep Gold for 15 years and Signature Sleep Baby for 5 years. It covers defects in material and workmanship. That includes sagging of 1.5 inches or more on a proper foundation, material splitting or cracking, broken, loose or protruding wires, and cover zipper defects.

Not covered are shipping and handling charges, firmness or comfort preferences, abuse or unsanitary conditions, and stains, soiling, fluid penetration, tears or burns. Those can void coverage. Also excluded are sagging under 1.5 inches, normal memory-foam softness changes, reduced slow recovery, and damage from causes other than workmanship. It also excludes as-is, floor sample, second-hand, non-retail or promotional items, commercial use, bed height, sheet fit, mattress fabric, allergies, futon mattresses and recycling fees.

Only the original purchaser qualifies. You need the original law tags and dated proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Indentation claims need at least two digital photos taken on a flat floor with a measuring device in frame. If an identical mattress isn't available, DHP may substitute one of equal or greater quality. Replacement doesn't renew the warranty, but buying an upgrade can start a new one. After any no-charge period, replacement is pro-rated by years since purchase against a percentage of the original retail price. Shipping and handling is $75 for adult mattresses and $25 for baby mattresses. UK rates may differ.

Implied warranties are limited to the warranty term. Incidental and consequential damages are excluded where permitted. Total liability won't exceed the purchase price. Claims contact is 1-800-267-1739 or cs@dhpfurniture.com. For the UK, call 01284-413-114 or email support@dhfeurope.com. For Europe, call 01942 524100 or email cseurope@dorel.com.

Signature Sleep vs. other brands

You'll find Zinus in the same Amazon budget band. It has green-tea memory foam, broader sizes and models, and a much larger review base. Signature Sleep matches it on price and on CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD claims. It beats Zinus on reversible coil construction at the very bottom of the market. It loses on model breadth, brand recognition and review depth.

Linenspa's 8 inch hybrid is the highest-volume budget Amazon mattress, with ratings in the hundreds of thousands. The Tranquility 6 Inch at $55 undercuts it outright. The Contour 8 Inch at $299 is a step up in coil count and two-sided build. Linenspa wins on volume trust.

Signature Design by Ashley (Chime) is the brand most often confused with Signature Sleep. It dominates budget Amazon search with 30,000 to 50,000-plus ratings per listing at roughly $229 to $447. Ashley wins on review depth and recognition. Signature Sleep is a distinct Dorel brand that usually prices lower per inch. You should treat them as unrelated companies.

Direct-to-consumer value brands such as Nectar, DreamCloud and Brooklyn Bedding's entry models offer 100-night to 365-night trials, free returns and lifetime or forever warranties. Signature Sleep offers none of those. It wins on entry price and loses on service. Mid-tier hybrids from Corsicana, American Bedding or GhostBed have more engineering. Signature Sleep has no zoned support, cooling technology, reinforced edge or published coil and foam specs.

Overall, Signature Sleep competes on price and reversibility. You should think of it as a retailer-channel budget line, not a direct-to-consumer brand.

How we put this review together

We read the brand's own product, policy and warranty pages, then checked retailer listings and public complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau. We last checked everything here in September 2026. Prices and policies change, so confirm them on the seller's page before you buy. You can read more in our methodology and editorial policy.

Quick answers before you buy

Can I buy a Signature Sleep mattress directly from Dorel?

No. signaturesleep.com redirects to dorelhome.com, and Dorel's mattress collections have no products. You buy through Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Target, Big Lots, Home Depot, Lowe's or Ashley.

Is there a sleep trial or free return?

No trial is published anywhere. Dorel's only return policy is the RealRooms.com 30-day any-reason window, and you pay return shipping. That page says Dorel can't accept mattress returns. So Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair and Target return policies apply in practice.

How long is the warranty and what does it cover?

It's 10 years limited on Signature Sleep, 15 years on Gold and 5 years on Baby. It covers sagging of 1.5 inches or more, material splitting or cracking, broken or protruding wires and cover zipper defects. Replacement is pro-rated, plus a $75 shipping fee for adult mattresses after the no-charge period.

Are the foams and covers certified?

Yes. CertiPUR-US covers the Memoir foam and the gel topper. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 covers Memoir covers. GREENGUARD Gold covers the Dream On 8 Inch, Tranquility 6 Inch and Magnus set mattress. The Memoir line is described as fiberglass-free.

Which model is the safest budget pick?

The Contour 8 Inch Reversible Queen at $299 has the deepest ratings base, with 4.4 stars across 11,248 ratings. The Tranquility 6 Inch Twin at $55 is the cheapest way in. The brand says it suits average to lighter weight sleepers only.

Do the mattresses need a box spring or work on an adjustable base?

Dorel doesn't publish an adjustable-base claim. The Magnus platform frame needs no box spring. Dorel requires a rigid foundation with slat gaps under 3 inches. Queen, king and California king platform beds also need a center support beam.
