Chapter 02
Comfort and firmness: which mattress fits you
Why this matters to you: Feel names are the brand's words, not measurements. Use them to shortlist two or three beds, then let your body decide.
Back sleepers: either model; the Luxe suits those wanting firm support with a touch more contouring. Stomach sleepers: either model, with the Plank Firm extra-firm side the flattest option. Side sleepers: generally not the audience; only heavier side sleepers (Sleep Foundation notes 230-plus-lb testers) may get enough cushion without sinking, and lighter side sleepers report hip and shoulder pain.
Hot sleepers: breathable open-cell foams, coil airflow on the Luxe, and the optional GlacioTex cooling cover. Heavier sleepers: both support up to 950 lbs; over-300-lb shoppers are pointed by the brand to sibling Titan Plus.

Which Plank Mattress feel fits you?
Weight chart not yet researched
Weight and sleep position can change how a bed feels. We have not yet checked whether Plank Mattress publishes a fit chart by body weight, so use a trial, where one is offered, to test the bed the way you sleep at home.
Neck: on your side, your nose should line up with the middle of your chest, not tip up or down.
Shoulders: your bottom shoulder should sink in. Tingling or a numb arm means the bed is too firm for you.
Lower back: on your back, slide a flat hand under your waist. A big gap means too firm; no room at all can mean too soft.
Hips: ask someone to look from the side. Hips lower than shoulders means the bed is too soft for you.

Compare the mattresses
Why this matters to you: Models from one brand can differ in feel, height and layers. Match the feel label and height to how you sleep before you compare prices.

Mattress prices and value
Why this matters to you: A starting price can rise with size, base and delivery. Get the full price for your size in writing before you choose.
Before-discount Queen prices are $1,332 (Plank Firm) and $1,598 (Plank Firm Luxe); Twin starts at $749 and $1,065 respectively, with Kings at $1,532 and $1,865. A 25%-off sitewide promotion (code ANNI25) was live in Sept 2026, cutting the Plank Firm Twin to $561.75 and the Luxe Twin to $798.75, so street prices run well below list.
Value read: mid-range bed-in-box pricing with frequent promotions, US assembly, GREENGUARD Gold plus CertiPUR-US foams, and a limited lifetime warranty; the premium over budget all-foam rivals buys verified extra-firm support rather than luxury materials. Financing at 0% APR is advertised; HSA/FSA eligibility is noted for qualified customers.

Chapter 05
How well do the mattresses hold up?
Why this matters to you: A mattress is a long buy. Lean on the written warranty and real owner reports to judge how it will last.
Brand-reported durability: flippable design is claimed to improve longevity since both sides are sleepable; all Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are stated to support up to 950 lbs; warranty covers sag over 1.5 inches and foam or coil splits. Sleep Foundation scores Plank Firm durability 7 of 10.
Caveats from buyer reports: one 290-lb reviewer reported softening within two months on the used side, and several combo sleepers reported the surface staying painfully hard rather than breaking in. Independent long-term testing: not published as of Sept 2026.

Sleep trials, returns, exchanges and fees
Why this matters to you: Feel is hard to judge in a store or in a week. Know your exit plan and its cost before you pay.
120-night comfort trial begins on delivery; a 30-day break-in from delivery is required before starting a return; the trial is usable on one occasion only (a second mattress is not eligible). Returns carry a $99 return fee to cover pickup; the brand states it will help dispose of the mattress and works to donate, recycle or repurpose returns.
Exchanges are handled by contacting support@brooklynbedding.com (return-then-reorder or return-plus-immediate-reorder paths described). No returns or exchanges on clearance items. Accessories have a 30-day exchange/refund window; adjustable-base sales are final.
Shipping charges to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada are non-refundable.

Alaska and Hawaii shipping starts at $125 per mattress; Canada shipping is quoted at $250 to $550 per mattress; confirm before ordering.
Bed-in-a-box to the door; setup is unbox, unroll and expand. White-glove setup: not offered. Old-mattress removal service: not published as of Sept 2026; for trial returns the brand states it will help dispose of the mattress.
Typical wait: 5 to 7 business days

What do the warranties cover?
Why this matters to you: A warranty is only as good as its terms. Read the written terms and use a supported base, because the wrong frame can end coverage.
Limited lifetime warranty (for mattresses bought after 02/01/2025; earlier purchases use prior terms): years 1-10 non-prorated repair or replacement at no cost; years 11-15 prorated at 50% of then-current retail; years 16-20 at 60%; year 21 onward at 75%, same model and size (like-build substitute if discontinued).
Covers visible indentation over 1.5 inches not caused by an improper foundation, foam or coil splits under normal use, and cover assembly defects. Excludes normal softening, comfort preference after trial, abuse, stains, liquid damage and improper foundations (slats over 5 inches apart void coverage); removing the cover voids the warranty.
Original purchaser only, non-transferable, proof of purchase required; disputes go through binding arbitration.
Covered when the dip is deeper than 1.5 inches, measured with nobody on the bed.
Strip the bed down to the mattress and wait a few hours so the top layers can recover.
Lay a straight edge (a broom handle or long level) across the dip, resting on the flat parts.
Measure from the edge down to the deepest point, then photograph the ruler for your claim.

What are the mattresses made of?
Why this matters to you: Layer names say little without numbers. Ask what is inside your exact model, layer by layer.
Flippable two-sided builds made in America with foreign and domestic components and assembled in the brand Arizona facility. Plank Firm layers: quilted top weave with track-and-jump stitching, high-density base foam, Supreme Response comfort foam and quilted bottom; Sleep Foundation lists 0.75-inch quilt foam, 2-inch TitanFlex transition foam and a 7-inch 1.8-PCF polyfoam core.
Luxe layers add a 6-inch core of individually encased Ascension firm coils (up to 961) with high-density support foams. Covers are four-way stretch knit with an optional sewn-in GlacioTex phase-change cooling panel. Certifications stated: GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US foams.

Where can you try and buy the mattresses?
Why this matters to you: Where you buy sets the price, the trial and who handles problems. Check the seller's terms, not just the brand's.
Buy direct at https://plankmattress.com/ with phone support at 623-624-1222 and sister sites including BrooklynBedding.com. The returns policy references physical store locations (contact the store manager), and support runs through support@brooklynbedding.com, consistent with Brooklyn Bedding Arizona retail presence. Amazon, big-box or department-store availability: not confirmed/found as of Sept 2026.
No brand-published dealer or try-before-you-buy showroom list for Plank itself was found; the 120-night home trial is the stated try-out path.

Plank Mattress vs. other mattress brands
Why this matters to you: A fair comparison needs the same facts for both beds. Line up price, trial and warranty for each one.
Versus Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid (sibling): Plank wins for maximum firmness and back-pain positioning; Signature wins for comfort choice and side sleepers. Versus Titan Plus (sibling): Plank wins for extra-firm feel at lower prices; Titan Plus wins for plus-size-specific support engineering.
Versus Saatva Classic Firm: Plank wins on price, bed-in-box convenience and flippable firmness; Saatva wins on white-glove delivery, in-home setup and luxury positioning. Versus generic budget firm memory foam (e.g. Zinus): Plank wins on US assembly, GREENGUARD Gold plus CertiPUR-US certification and verified trial/warranty terms; budget rivals win on lower everyday prices.
Competitor details reflect published prices and specs on the date shown. Mattress brands may update prices and trial terms over time.
